Deze unieke parallelrit van de grootse en de kleinste Belgische stoomlocomotief op normaalspoor had plaats op zaterdag 28 september 1991, NMBS type 1.002 (rijvaardig gewicht 205 Ton) die reed op de L53 en BVS Cockerill Lok n°1 (rijvaardig gewicht 20 Ton) die reed op L52, de huidige museumspoorlijn Dendermonde-Puurs. Deze parallelrit was mogelijk dank zij de speciale rit (Leuven-Gent-Leuven) die georganiseerd werd ter gelegenheid van de laatste rit voor een machinist van de museumbewaarplaats van Leuven. Bij de terugrit uit Gent wachtte de Cockerill stoomlok n°1 van BVS in Sint-Gillis-Dendermonde om van daar naast elkaar te rijden tot de splitsing van de lijnen 52 en 53 over een traject van 1,5 km.

Ce parcours parallèle unique de la plus grande et plus petite locomotive à vapeur à voie normale belge a eu lieu le samedi 28 septembre 1991, SNCB type 1.002 (poids en état de marche 205 Tonnes) qui circulait sur les L53 et BVS Cockerill Lok n°1 (poids en état de marche 20 Tonnes) qui circulait sur la L52, l'actuelle ligne musée Termonde-Puurs. Cette circulation parallèle a été possible grâce au train spéciale (Louvain-Gand-Louvain) qui a été organisée à l'occasion de la dernière circulation d’un machiniste du dépôt du musée de Leuven. Au retour de Gent, la locomotive à vapeur Cockerill n°1 de BVS attendait à Sint-Gillis-Dendermonde pour rouler côte à côte jusqu'à la séparation des lignes 52 et 53 sur un tronçon de 1,5 km.

This unique parallel run of the largest and smallest Belgian standard-gauge steam locomotive took place on Saturday, September 28, 1991, SNCB type 1.002 (full weight 205 Tons) running on the L53 and BVS Cockerill Lok n°1 (full weight 20 Tons) running on L52, the current heritage railway Dendermonde-Puurs. This parallel ride was made possible thanks to the steam special (Leuven-Gent-Leuven) that was organized on the occasion of the last trip for a driver from the museum shed of Leuven. On the return journey from Gent, the Cockerill steam locomotive n°1 of BVS was waiting in Sint-Gillis-Dendermonde to run side by side from there until the junction of lines 52 and 53 on a 1,5 km long stretch.
