Awesome you are recreating KGJs swing.. He has one of the best to ever play.. So many people fail to study his mechanics, they are a blueprint for hitter today. NOT much of the crap conventional hitting coaches are teaching
Hey, Jeremy ... your Cano and Griffey swings are awesome. So I have a question for you. Given that these are two of the sweetest swings of all time, and most people agree that there’s something about both of them (and CarGo’s, too, but we’ll keep it simple here) that comes off as looking almost effortless, what IS it exactly in these swings that creates that effortless appearance (in contrast to the intense-looking swings of most others)?
Thank you!! I believe it’s a combination of a few things. Their ability to effectively use there whole body to generate power through good rhythm plays a big role. Any hitter who can rhythmically drive their body into the hitting zone tend to look the most effortless. Same with pitching.. And being that I am a switch hitter myself, I think a left handed swing gets to take a more natural finish because first base is on the same side of the plate. Right handed hitters typically don’t have as “pretty” as a finish because they have to decelerate faster to run the opposite direction of where their swing ends up.
I’d put Ruth, Mantle and Williams in that class Ruth learned the og swing from Joe Jackson also look at old photos of Joey D’s follow thru crazzzy but they’re mostly two handed follow thrus Justin Turner, Will Clark and Willie Mays also come to mind
Another thing ppl usually get wrong that you do a great job of in action is leaving two hands on the bat longer than most ppl usually do. Jr didn’t release his left hand till pretty late in the follow thru
You got an EXCELLENT X stretch you leave your hands as well as anyone your pretty flexible too my man but yeah he gets explosion from that added element fs plus it just looks cool
My Dad has been telling me to watch Griffey hit. Thank you for breaking it down!
Ken Griffey Jr had the greatest swing of all time. He was the definition of cool.
I grew up in san Bernardino in the 80's and watched the kid play for the San Bernardino Sprits. Griffey had game even back then.
aye man! i grew up in fontana i didn’t even know he played down here that’s crazy!!!
Awesome video! I'm enjoying your videos

great!!! I don't understand exact thing but, I got a many inform. thanks
The dance choreography comment had me rollin 🤣
About time
All the way down to the facial expressions love it
Also with Ruth maybe it came from him being a pitcher but he used to tilt his back shoulder back ever so slightly just before he approached the ball
It’s like singing it’s ok to emulate your influences eventually you find your own voice anyway
I love how u caught the head twitch 😂

I agree but also timing and momentum
I’d put Ruth, Mantle and Williams in that class Ruth learned the og swing from Joe Jackson also look at old photos of Joey D’s follow thru crazzzy but they’re mostly two handed follow thrus Justin Turner, Will Clark and Willie Mays also come to mind
@@theswingman9437ou think the pendulum action has something to do w it?
Love your stuff
Thank you!
Mell Ott had a really stretched out left arm when he loaded he was a smaller guy with a huge bat so he got all the power he could Jimmie Wynn style
Another thing ppl usually get wrong that you do a great job of in action is leaving two hands on the bat longer than most ppl usually do. Jr didn’t release his left hand till pretty late in the follow thru
Watch how Ruth leaves his hands and pushes off with his back leg very similar
You got an EXCELLENT X stretch you leave your hands as well as anyone your pretty flexible too my man but yeah he gets explosion from that added element fs plus it just looks cool
I’m a Frank Thomas fan myself! But Griffey is a great player.
Thank you 🙏
How can I work on staying back and not drifting forward during my swing?
I’ll post a video discussing this issue within the next couple days!
I see you’ve been paying attention
cool I wanna see you do Jeff bagwell you know why. Pujols and Mcgwire would be cool too
I see you hold you bottom hand pinkie off the end if the bat. What does this do for you? I see many pro hitters do this
More power because it lengthens the swing
Do you happen to know how many inches of bat Ken Griffey Jr. used during his career?
Do a Brian Dozier one please
i can do everything but my back foot taps instead of my front foot so annoying just gotta work harder
Gotta have Niehaus on the call
It’s impossible to hit like that master
I was always taught to stride away from your hands.
Right handers disliked this video
