Love the opinions, Ev! I am so happy you mentioned Flag Retreat. It is one of my favorite things we do at the Park as a Company. And as a proud kid of a veteran with a lot of vets in my life AND Main Street CM, I cannot stress enough how much this ceremony means to me. Highly recommend. Especially on Memorial Day or Veterans Day if you want a good cry!
And it’s usually at 4:15p every day but it depends on the time of year because it is before sunset. ALSO, fun fact! They only lower that flag because it is the only real one on Main Street! The others that you see that are left flying either don’t have enough stars or stripes and therefore they are not real and do not need to be taken down every day! Check it out next time you’re on Main Street! ❤

We have been going to Disneyland since 2004. Listening to cast members past and present will definitely elevate your experience. I have learned about so many gems from them. As a Navy family (Veteran) never knew about flag retreat and will try to go every time from now on. Very moving ceremony. I think it is every day at 5 pm. So much respect for those that have served. Highly recommend!!!
All of the food at Disneyland has gotten better over the years. One of my favorites is tomato basil soup and grilled cheese at Jolly Holiday on Main Street and the Monte Cristo Sandwich which is now available in New Orleans square (not just a Blue Bayou). Mint Julep Bar? California Adventure still has better food options IMO. I have 2 tips. Plan a multi day trip with park hopping if at all possible. You miss so much magic trying to do everything in one day. Yes the rides are great, but only a small part of the experience. Number 2, I am sure will be controversial but here it goes. Put your phones down and look around. Disneyland is an immersive experience meant to be an escape from reality. Accept the gift. Lean into the storytelling, the magic, the wonder. Look at the kids eyes that are experiencing this for the first time. Leave your worries outside the park gates, they will be there when you get back. Allow yourself to tap into that inner child and behold the nostalgia of simpler times. Great Job Evan. Cant wait to see the next one!!
