Have 2 versions of this the original release from Yamato which I bought years ago at SDCC and the 1/72 game version both are great but the Yamato 1/60 very complex transformation would love a newer one but prices are way to high. Great review though
I thought people complained that the Gerwalk mode is the worst out of all modes and molds of this YF19/VF-19 from I heard most from different threads. Basically, it's just that the legs are too slim and the location of the Gerwalk swivel makes it really unnatural and weird. Still a good figure though, especially in Battroid mode, in my opinion.
I just got this and it's awesome! IMO it's overall a better looking toy than the Yamato/Arcadia. The wing root joints are pretty much invisible on this one, and there are no large gaps on the knee joints as well. They're the main reasons why I didn't buy the Yamato/Arcadia in the first place. The intake edges are also thinner and lower profile which I find more appealing, especially in fighter mode. If only the shield and legs fitment in fighter mode were better and if they could make the gun fit horizontal without the bending gimmick it would've been the perfect 19 for me. Some prefer the more rounded looks of the Yamato, it's probably more screen accurate to the OVA, but I actually quite like the slimmer profile of the Bandai version.. well it is the "Advance" so I guess it's not exactly the YF-19 Prototype. :D
The complexity of transforming this compared to my Yamato YF-19 was super frustrating for me. I enjoy Bandai's Macross Chogokin line but this was the only toy that really pissed me off during transformation and trying to install the super parts.
+CollectionDX The arcadia one is sold on ebay at 600-800 $!! Are you kidding? How is it possible to justify such a price? Unless the arcadia failed and all macross objects have been destroyied except a few ones.
That moment when you feel that these macross stuff makes a more beliavable robots than bayformers. (Excluding that laughable half-ass transformation modes, but i guess thats just me) A little dangly and sketchy here and there, but they feel more solid both as a toy and a robot. Hasbros Bayformers could take a couple of hints from these macross guys. Just saying.
Why the hell all macross toys prices are litterally exploded?? Especially arcadia and yamato ones?
Yang Neumann does not make flaws good sir!
This is the first part of Veef's video about Bandai's DX Chogokin VF-19 Advance from Macross Frontier.

Love this bird, managed to get 2 copies at about USD$350 each recently...
I hope the we might see the VF-19A re released in the game accurate blue and white colors in the future
looks neato
great improvements for this version, if you compare to the old yamato toy, it looks more thin than the original also. Great review

I was thinking of getting these macross figures, but not sure to get either bandai or yamato, any advise?

Hi, have you any idea where can I buy one of these for a non-astronomical price? Around US$600-650 on eBay.
Nope. Thats how it goes...
I think the gerwalk on this is one of the worst since the arms rest on the upper fuselage and prevents the arms to move freely...

Neck is too thin. The streamlined torso looks okay, but overall I like the Yamato version better.
Can't find this anywhere for a reasonable price.
DataSlam There are no reasonable prices for these.

Bandai is the best
