Installed these on my trailer, haven't had it in the water yet, still working on the boat. Got the clear, and lit it , like yours. I like the fact that they don't hold water, like carpet, and the grooves will let the water run out, reducing the chance of hull blisters (fiberglass boat).
Man they are super cool!! It will be so much easier loading the boat at dark! That’s the part I always hated was the loading because I couldn’t see the bunks! Got to get 2 sets of these for bass boat and my river boat
Nice. I've had my bunks done with spray on truck bed-liner. Awesome. Also did the internal guide rails (2x6s) for my pontoon boat. Tough as nails and not that expensive.
Hopefully you see this but just wondering how the wiring went because i feel like the lights would be blinding driving down the road. Did you wire them to only be on when you were loading somehow? Or are they always on with your trailer lights?
Do you have video of how you wired them to your trailer wiring? And I think I asked this, but just in case: did you add an on/off switch to control the gatorbakights so that they aren't on all the time?
Hey sir i have a ? I own a 87 bass track tx 17. I’ve notice i have a slow leak coming from the top of my transom soon as the boat touches the water. Any reason on what the issue might be? I felt the wood on the transom and notice that if i apply any pressure that it sorta feels a little weak. Do you think that could be the issue?
I used treated with Mine, I just waited till the wood was dry enough to paint because I liked the paint finished look, Had them in the water for two years now, they still look brand new. I'll never go back to carpet
@Gator Guards / SS Marine Products do you guys sell the switch? I'm in AZ also. I was thinking of using red because while easily visible for loading/offloading, the red wouldn't be too bright on the road and will just make the trailer more visible to those around me at night and matches the brake lights. I figure if I add a switch, then I'm covered no matter where I go.
If you properly seal the wood then it won't matter. why pay for the pressure treated lumber? Just like in the video, a good enamel thinned a bit will penetrate deep into the wood. It isn't as if they stay in the water a long time. Lol

I was waiting for a slit wrist with that utility knife!

My fav channel! Be great if ya did flats boats skiff saltwater
I wonder if the cover could be heated with a heat gun to manipulate it to wrap around a 2” conduit. What are your thoughts?
Awesome video man. I was just looking at the 2x4 ones for my boat.
Mike, what is the best method you have found to lift the boat off the trailer and suspend it while doing trailer work, and also to paint the boat?
Man you do some nice clean work!
Keep it coming!

@@TinyBoatNation Does a switch come with the kit so you can turn the lights off if you want to ?

Nice set up for night fishing.
Looks like they would tear up a gel coated glass boat. Yes/no?
Wonder how they would look wired in with the brakes and turn signal
Unrelated question to the video. What is the best small boat for standing stability? My friend is 300+ lbs and I am 200 lbs.
How long were those bunks
@@TinyBoatNation ah ok thanks for your reply.

Why not use pressure treated for the bunks? Just curious

I was always told The chemical in the pressure treatment is not good for the aluminum
Heath S but the boat is sitting on the plastic
@@mainetroutwhisperer Now here's a person with a brain. Thank you Main Trout Whisperer. I also watch your channel.
@@JP-nd9jq where did you get your lights?
Would this work for a PWC trailer?
I am building a bout like yours any advice
Now that’s gangsta! 💯👍🏽
Could u run into legal issues running those lights at night?
They’re illegal in Maine

They turned out great, but you didn't seal any of the screw holes so kinda defeats the purpose of sealing the timber in the first place 🤷♂️
Exactly that was a waste of time. Been better just to buy treated lumber
Y not use the pressure treated wood
@@TinyBoatNation But the boat isn't on the aluminum its on the Gatorbak

These aren't as good as the Ultimate Bunk Boards which are 100% composite material which NEVER degrades like something made with wood.
Can you route a 1/2" groove in them?
Gimmick garbage.
