Sam Cote the traction on them are really good, and I’m really glad I bought them. Your review helped sway me towards buying them, so thank you! I got the green/khaki ones
Around 1977 I got a pair of onituskas but the soles were different, they were called "rubber band" soles and they were pretty amazing when you had to run over the court they had a super grip... I wish I could find a pair again.... thanks for sharing your video.
How well does these shoes keep your feet ventilated? I have a pair of vans canvas shoes, and my socks are pretty much wet because of all the sweat. Can you tell me what the material of the shoes is and how well it keeps your feet cool? Thanks!
+Rr They aren't too bad ventilation-wise. They weren't as good as many athletic shoes due to their leather uppers, but I never really had problems with them. I've never owned vans, so I can't really compare, but I'd say if you're looking for good ventilation, you may be better off with a different shoe. I do know, however, that there is a mesh version of this shoe: www.onitsukatiger.com/us/en-us/mexico-66/p/0010236752.0144 . I can only assume it would be superior in ventilation. Hope this helps!
+Ram Gonzalez I'd say they are about a 7.5. At the time of the video, they were the most comfortable I had worn in a long time, so I may have overestimated at the time. The only reason I'd give a 7.5 and not higher is because they are not cushy at all. I personally like my shoes this way, but they are not comparable to any sort of modern asics shoe. If It's cushiness you're looking for, go into a store and try on some asics running shoes. I'm a big runner and the modern asics have been great on my feet for countless miles of trails and roads. I've also got a pair of nike running shoes and i prefer the Tigers over them when it comes to everyday wear. I'd take supportive non-cushiness of the Tigers over the non-suportive cushiness of Nike any day.
Thanks man, this really helped (: got myself a pair a couple of weeks ago. Definetly not as comfortable as running shoes but just enough, and way better support than converse!
Cutty Flam in most cases yes, with the case of white shoes; no. White shoes make your feet look bigger, so a looser fitting pair of pants works better with shoes like this. Ill agree that these look a bit too baggy, he should cuff them once or twice.
I personally don't drive, but I can't imagine they'd be bad for driving. They've got good support but aren't cushy. The only problems I can think of are that the insole is a little uncomfortable without socks and the way the shoe is sewn together at the heel can get annoying if worn for a long time. If you're just wearing them to drive I'd say yes, they'd make a good everyday driver.
Uuuummm.. remember i used to get them for 20 bucks and last me 5 years and usally buy them used the high end ones, and last me almost as long, last year i threw away my old pair, i had to go to thailand to get them repaired, last pair lasted me 10 years almost, now those same shoes are 220 bucks!!!!!!! (TUT) i hate buying made in China!
Well, 5 years later, there's still not that many good reviews on this brand. This video is still relevant to this day. Much appreciated.
Thanks.
Wow didn’t expect to see anyone here this recent, same day reply! But yeh wish there was more reviews, just got myself a pair from goodwill
Onitsuka rules .. one of the best shoes ever !
so good!
Sam, those are really cool looking shoes. That arch support is surprising and I really like the Tiger heel tab.
Right?? The heel tab is definitely a nice addition hahaha
I bought these shoes for fencing and they worked out really well!
Samantha Tibbitts glad to hear it!! I don’t know much about fencing, so that’s good to know!
Sam Cote the traction on them are really good, and I’m really glad I bought them. Your review helped sway me towards buying them, so thank you! I got the green/khaki ones
Samantha Tibbitts awesome you got some good info from the video! Good color choice as well 👌🏻

Best shoe for drumming....ever.
Masters of Metal Training and Fitness Equipment hahaha good to know!! I’ll have to recommend them to my drummer 🥁
Only legend know the story of nike and onitsuka

Nike es una porquería!
Can u make a video of how these shoes look after a year of wear?
Quite possibly! I've been busy lately, but I'll see what I can do
Cool thanks
Sam Cote yeah, pls do something!
I've worn a pair for years. I actually bought them used. They do show age after a while though for sure
Have you guys seen the new one?

Question about the size, this Shoe runs small (as Puma) or true to size?
+Bob Bober Pretty much true to size, but depending on what your feet are like, they may run a tad large
So are these comfortable overall? what would you rate em?
+Ram Gonzalez I'd say they are about a 7.5. At the time of the video, they were the most comfortable I had worn in a long time, so I may have overestimated at the time. Where did you buy this one?
Zappos.com
Doesn't matter what shoes you're wearing
The jeans ruins everything
How?
way too baggy, slim fit always looks better
Cutty Flam in most cases yes, with the case of white shoes; no. White shoes make your feet look bigger, so a looser fitting pair of pants works better with shoes like this. Ill agree that these look a bit too baggy, he should cuff them once or twice.
DUANE !! No, he should just wear better fitting jeans, period. Doesn't matter what color shoe he's wearing.
greentealatte exactly my point.
Can I go a half size bigger? I have flat feet. How do they fit?
They fit true to size. I wouldn't go up
can you tell me where is the shoe that you have made?
I got these off of zappos.com. If you were looking for a country where they were produced: Indonesia.
+Sam Cote so this is made in indonesia???
+Iqbal Fairuz yes. I know Indonesia can be associated with low quality, but I can assure you these shoes can take a beating
get some new jeans
check out the update vid! got a new pair of jeans
What's wrong with them?
Wots up with the jeans!?
hahaha go check out my update to this video!
Do you recommend them as a daily driver?
I personally don't drive, but I can't imagine they'd be bad for driving. They've got good support but aren't cushy. WHY THE NAME??
MEXICO66????
They were designed in the 1960's in anticipation of the mexico city olympics! Thanks for asking :)
@@SamDCote that shoes are beitifull
Very elegant,thanks for you answer
@@anthonyscalamare298 no problem!
You still have these??
yep!
Sam Cote nice! Would love to see an update of what they look like now.
Posted one a few months ago! definitely check it out!
I kinda wanna buy these but idk, the shoe fabric looks cheap
Its leather, so it is very durable. It is not the best quality leather ever, but it serves the purpose well.
Comfortable shoe but more like a slipper than a shoe. Basically no arch support and very very little insole - sole.
very true! looking back, i definitely overstated the arch support
Uuuummm.. remember i used to get them for 20 bucks and last me 5 years and usally buy them used the high end ones, and last me almost as long, last year i threw away my old pair, i had to go to thailand to get them repaired, last pair lasted me 10 years almost, now those same shoes are 220 bucks!!!!!!! Wow! Crazy that they were so cheap and durable!
Intro music?
+Shoe Game99 generic imovie music
Are they original product in zappos.com. Please reply bcoz i want to get one
These are from zappos, and I am very happy with them.
@@SamDCote i wanted to know whether it is a trusted site bcoz there are lot of sites that sell fake products.
Prasanth Vp from what I can tell, they are real. If you want to be safe though, I’d recommend getting them from the onitsuka tiger website.
@@SamDCote thank u
Can I buy your tigers? I’ll pay whatever you want for them?
