    I wanna cry so much. If you were a kid in the 80's like I was, then you know all these shows hit home. Out of all the 80's sitcoms, which I love all dearly, this was my absolute favorite one. Looking back on it now as an adult, I appreciate it on whole new level. They were so freaking talented. Amazing chemistry and talent.

      The episode where they went to the gym the day before their double dates and got so sore they could hardly move, but then got into a fight and tried to chase each other around their apartment, made me laugh so hard my muscles ached.

      Don't cry. It's all part of life's rich tapestry. Here's a little motto I've always remembered to help me get through the tough times life throws at you. Maybe it can help you too.
      #1: When you're rolling out the dough, just make sure you roll it slow.
      #2: If you make the dough too quick, then the perils of life can make you sick.
      #3: When you put the filling in, just make sure you wear a grin.
      #4: When you smile at what you have, then your life will turn out swell.

      ***** Good observation Jack, I mean that. However Perfect strangers was part of the TGIF line-up. TGIF started in 89' while the final episode date of Perfect Strangers was in 93.

    • @ItsGroundhogDay
      @ItsGroundhogDay 8 лет назад +9

      It was one of the shows that kickstarted TGIF, the other notable show at the time being Full House and then the Perfect Strangers spinoff, Family Matters. By that point, it had been on for a few seasons. It had a brief stint as a key show for I Love Saturday Night, but both it and the entire block quickly faded, before it moved back to Fridays for the last few episodes of its run. Then Step by Step, Boy Meets World, and Sabrina took over, and TGIF was still awesome. And then... thud.
      I appreciate ABC's attempts at a TGIF revival of sorts, but everything other than Last Man Standing is falling flat. It's been nice to see some attempts to revive the old shows again as well, with Girl Meets World and the upcoming Fuller House.

      ***** Perfect Strangers - Before Family Matters, Harriette Winslow was originally the elevator operator at the Chicago Chronicle newspaper office in the third and fourth seasons of Perfect Strangers. Family Matters was a spin-off series given to this character in 1989. In the second episode of Family Matters, Harriette was fired as elevator operator at the Chronicle, but was soon re-hired as "Chief of Security," which explained her absence from dealings with the Perfect Strangers cast.

    Such a wonderful show. I'm 38 and feel blessed to have lived through two great decades of TV in the 1980s and 1990s. Family values and life lessons were a priority and morals were taught on TV. Nowadays it's the total opposite with the Kartrashians and the like on TV. Thankfully there are still a few good quality shows but nothing will ever compare to what we had years ago.

    Why don't they make shows with good theme songs anymore?

    • @Muggle423
      @Muggle423 10 лет назад +58

      Because that actually takes creativity and people are lacking that aspect nowadays. And catchy theme songs usually last a minute, which would take airtime away from crappy commercials. Really, they need to bring back theme songs. That's what made these shows of the 70s, 80s, and 90s,,,and the fact that you could watch these shows as a family, not like the raunchy crap they have on now!

    • @harrisonite
      @harrisonite 10 лет назад +14

      Title sequences have been slimmed down in favor of "cold openings" that give a bit about the story to engage the viewer in the plot. They usually throw in a "hook" to raise intrigue by showing something unexplained.
      I think not having theme songs is about grabbing the limited number of viewers in the very diverse TV landscape. Theme Songs really can become repetitive and while they give a picture of the Series, they do not describe what will happen on that evening's particular show.

    • @urthboundmisfit
      @urthboundmisfit 10 лет назад +2

      Harrison Crowe You can have a cold opening and a theme in the same show. Even if there aren't sung lyrics they're still using them. Examples: Doctor Who, Walking Dead.
