Agreed! Saw him 3 times , all an EXPERIENCE ! BTW he is an amazing human! Feed my frankenstein Black widow React to those songs. In the spirit of HALLOWEEN 🕸⚰
Alice Cooper caused quite a stir in the early seventies, with the make-up and outrageous stage shows. During the late eighties, when I graduated, Cooper was still going strong and possibly even more popular than ever. Now, it's 2021, and Cooper shows no sign of stopping.
"We can't even think up a word that rhymes!" Classic!! "Eighteen" and "Elected" are two more fun Alice Cooper songs! The kids all loved him and all the parents hated him and hated us loving them!!
This was such an anthem for school aged kids back in the 70s and 80s. All through middle school and high school, the local Rock radio station would get so many requests for this song that they would have have to play it once an hour, alll day, on the last day(s) of local schools. I remember the last day of high school, driving with some friends to go hang out and cook out at a local park by a river, and hearing the DJ come on the air and say, “…and, yes, coming up after the break, we will play Alice Cooper’s ‘School’s Out’ again. Don’t worry…it’s coming up…AGAIN, so you all can STOP CALLING!” LOL
Every year when my boys got home on the last day of school, I greeted them with this song blasting from the stereo. Still love it! Finally got to meet Alice and his wife in 2019.
My hubby and I went to see Deep Purple with Alice opening for them in 2016 or 17, not sure. My hubby seen DP back in the day but neither of us had ever seen AC. What an amazing show! We were at a venue outside of Houston and in our opinions, they totally stole the show!! We're originally from Chicago and AC lead singer (Vince Furio?) lived outside of Chicago for awhile because of the fact that his wife's family lived there. Very personable, kind man!!
Yes, Vincent (Furnier, I think?)!! He actually legally changed his name to Alice Cooper a few years ago, which I didn't know until recently. Truly a nice guy, as you said, and his wife is beautiful, gracious and funny. She plays some parts in the show.
@@lindawulfkoenig4907 he legally changed his name in 1975...originally Alice Cooper was the name of the band...he still pays the original band members royalties for using the name
A classic Alice Cooper album is "Welcome To My Nightmare" There are a couple of tracks on that record that I think you might find interesting. "Only Women Bleed" is a beautiful ballad with deeper meaning than many expected from Alice Cooper and "The Black Widow" with a spoken word piece featuring the amazing voice of the late actor Vincent Price. "Poison", "I'm Eighteen" and "No More Mister Nice Guy" are also excellent songs to get a flavour of what Alice Cooper was about. His shows "back in the olden days" were legendary. Not for the faint of heart, I'll tell you that for nothing.
It’s impossible to communicate how incredible it was to be 11 yrs old when this came out. “Super Duper Alice Cooper” is one of the best rock documentaries out in a while.
Every year of high on the last day, plus so many days, this song would be full blast from every car in the parking lot of school. Sweet memories. Thanks.
Oh my goodness, this played LOUDLY out of every car window the last day of school my entire life!! Detroit radio stations have it on rotation throughout the year but very often in June....but then there were people with 8 Tracks/cassettes/CDs as time went on ...playing it in their cars with windows down....just driving the streets on the last day!!! Such fun memories!! Now, as a teacher, I still NEED to hear it every year!
My brother, who's 12 yrs older than me, got to see him in concert. I was so jealous! He never toured again in my town after I was 18 and could go to concerts. He is a true artist performer, often in certain songs, he wears an insane asylum vest, always has the make up. In real life, he appears very down-to-earth and loves golf, of all things. I always loved his song ' Million dollar babies' and later, his song 'Poison'. Great performance artist.
Brings back some memories! I've actually still got my original "Schools Out" vinyl LP - the one that opened like a school desk, with the pink panties to cover the actual record. I love streaming/downloading music but, damn, owning music back then was way more fun.
OMG last day of school the radio station would play this throughout high School and it was just that feeling of freedom and you knew it was all over for the summer when this song came on
In 2013 I was at a concert of Alice Cooper. He blew me away! I like both his old songs like "Ballad of Dwight Fry" and "Welcome to my nightmare" and his newer ones like "caffein" and "Last man on earth". The whole "Welcome to my nightmare 2" record is as great as "Welcome to my nightmare 1". His new founded supergroup "Hollywood Vampires" (2015) with Johnny Depp and Joe Perry is a gem, too. Little fun fact: Alice owns the original (!) movie sword of Errol Flynn, a very famous actor in the 40s - and he even uses it sometimes in his shows. Another fun fact: His wife Sheryl is a trained ballerina. Before meeting Alice in 1975 she was dancing at the opera and never got in contact with rock music. She and one of their daughters Calico sometimes dance and play characters in his shows until today. I was lucky to see Sheryl, too. She's fantastic. Besides touring with her father Calico sings in her own band ("Beasto Blanco").
Mr. Alice Cooper playing Colorado USA , October 2022. Gonna be Fabulous . Seen him 3x before and they are always Phenominal. 🤘😎 Highly Recommend you see him Live.
At the end of every school year, we went nuts over this. Then, when I finally finished my last class in college, this took on a whole new insane meaning. After that, life smashed me in the face. School was easy, life was not.
Everyone loved this song back in the day, but my greatest memory was at the very end of our high school graduation we blared it over the intercom and on our car stereo CASSETTE decks. The looks on our teachers and parents PRICELESS! ! But the after party was even better. Saw the sun come up that morning, at Denney's choking down coffee and pancakes. EPIC!!
Picture a mid 70's Southern California high school parking lot on the last day of school with this song blasting out of damn near every car. Great time to be a teenager.
I'm so "fiddlestickin'" happy to see someone finally reacting to Alice. They were an absolutely hard-rockin' band, quite aside from the show. But the show! Man, it was Vaudeville recast in the late 20th century. Great stuff.
Hard to believe I was just a teenager when this song came out. Alice quickly became my new favorite band. I was eighteen when the song 18 came out. That one really spoke to me. I had the album and I still remember how the album cover folded out to make an old fashioned school desk.....
This performance was recorded at the BBC for 'Top of the Pops' (UK tv chart show), they received complaints about it from the public and were so embarrassed that they buried the tape in their video vault for years, (they did the same with Jimi Hendrix' performance on the Lulu show).
Oh yes.. been listening to Alice since my high school days. Please check out; Only women bleed ( beautiful and so true). You and Me I never cry The above 3 are Alice's softer tunes
Alice started in Detroit and came to Toledo about every month so I've seen him at least 6 times. He's a hell of a showman and his shows are always outstanding.
My FAVORITE artist EVER, I love Alice Cooper!! I'm 2 albums shy of having all his albums. He was the first concert I ever went to.... I think I was 13 or 14. I saw him at CNE Grandstand in Toronto. It was Alice Cooper, Judas Priest, Motor Head, and Metal Church. Such an awesome time; me, my bestie and here Mom ❤❤
Poison and Welcome to My Nightmare (lol, watch the video of that one from the Muppet Show) are some personal favorites of his for me. You should definitely check out more of his work. This man is about to turn 73 and still spends 90% of his life on tour either with his band or with his other band (Hollywood Vampires). He's amazing.
We use to sing this song when growing up one the last day of school. You should check out his song poison or welcome to my nightmare both are great songs also.
Alice Cooper: The Nightmare was a conceptual television special showcasing the music of the Welcome to My Nightmare album by Alice Cooper. It originally broadcast in North America on April 25, 1975
When this song came out I was in school, and every year it was played at the end of the school year! It was all school kids' anthem, also always played at the last dance of the year, with pretty well everybody singing along. Great memories.
There’s a great scene in the late 80s film Wayne’s World, where Wayne and Garth got o an Alice Cooper concert; and they have backstage passes. They get back there, and instead of a wild metal band backstage scene, they are talking about philosophers
Watched a movie called "Dark Shadows with Johnny Depp and found this gem by Alice Copper called "The Ballad of Dwight Fry. You'll love the live version. It's crazy
Alice Cooper on the Muppet Show is stellar, and totally worth the watch. He was delightful with the Muppets. I remember watching it when it first aired around Halloween 1976.
So l was a teenager when this song first came out and later on when l had kids l would play this song ever loudly when l would pick them up on the last day of school, needless to say they were so embarrassed and couldn't get in the car fast enough 🤣🤟
Alice Cooper was a ground breaking band. Instead of hippy dippy love songs we had a band that spoke to us. Under My Wheels is a classic song that few know about.

Alice puts on a great concert, his concerts are theatrical.
Modern day Vaudeville. In the 70s and early 80s several former Vaudevillians told him so.

one of the best lines in rock history!
Still the funniest line in rock and roll, I reckon
Totally Agreed!! Always been my fave lyric TOO!! Keep on Rockin'!!!
Last day of school, bouncing the bus, hands, feet and asses out windows, high crime for pimples at the time...
@@ambientpizzavstheworld883 the best one is ..." I wanna hurt u just to hear u screaming my name "
I’m a teacher and I play this on the ride home on the last day😂
LOL!!! I'll bet!!
A very underrated band!
Overlooked because of the dramatics of it all. There's a lot of good music down this rabbit hole!

Other great Alice Cooper songs:
"Billion Dollar Babies"
"I Love The Dead"
"No More Mr. Nice Guy"
"Only Women Bleed"
"I've Never Cried"
✌❤🌹
You gotta be ready for "I Love the Dead" or "Cold Ethyl." Ha!
The Ballad of Dwight Frye......

Saw this live the day after I graduated High School in 78. He has a song, “Only Women Bleed” that I think will blow you away.
Yep Alice Cooper was the class of 78!
We played it endlessly
My first concert I ever went to.. Ted Nugent with special guest Alice Cooper.. Alice puts on one hell of a show..
I saw him with Eddie Money opening for my first concert
Are you taking a trip to the dark side. no more mister nice guy is another classic
Saw him in person back in the late 80's, not just a concert - it was a show! What a great time!
Haha. After all these years - it’s still fun singing along with Alice. 🤣
LOVE Alice Cooper! Such a wonderful showman - he did an episode of the Muppets which was EPIC ^-^
Love Alice Cooper back inputs on an awesome show
Alice Cooper live is a show within a concert, amazing live

The spoken word piece with Vincent Price is on the song The Devil's Food which leads directly into The Black Widow.
I saw him in concert 2 years ago and I've got to say for his age dude can put on a show... it's rocking from start to finish... it was banging!
Alice Cooper did ballads too. Try listening to "I Never Cry" or "You And Me". Great songs.
It’s impossible to communicate how incredible it was to be 11 yrs old when this came out.

This song gets played every year when school is done for the year. Genius!
Listen to “Welcome to my nightmare”
This was an anthem every Spring when school was our for Summer back in the 1970s. It was always all over the radio that time of year.

Get into the "darker" side of Alice. Welcome to My Nightmare. Etc. He was my generation's Marilyn Manson. Mild in comparison. ✌️❤️😊
Welcome to My Nightmare -- OMG, what a great song
and then there's the muppet version LOL
Yes, and a live verision. His stage show on this is a great example of why Alice matters.
That whole album was awesome!
Killer was a lot darker than nightmare
That was number one the year I left school for good. It was particularly apt. Great track. There were calls to ban it. Glad they didn't.
