    Hi Marie, this is Paul from the UK, love your garden. The strawberries will send out flowers and wherever a flower is you should get strawberries. Oh and yes once a runner sends down roots and becomes its own plant you can then cut the vine. Enjoy making your garden beautiful again.

    Hey Marie. I'm the one from Manchester Jamaica living in Georgia, heading to Africa. Someone asked me what crops I plant in Georgia. The ones that survive the winter months are rosemary, fennel, thyme, skellion, marjoram, sage, and pepper mint. All these I plant. The ones that do not survive are moringa, corn, ochro, callaloo, and basil. Once you plant callaloo seeds once you don't have to replant again. The seeds get dispersed even in places where you never planted. The pepper mint will never die because the roots are runners. my neighbor is from Cambodia. One year I saw some big leaf ceresse running on his fence. He also has gully bean plants that will come back if the winter is not harsh. He does not know how the gully bean tree came there, but the other neighbor across the street has a bunch of gully bean trees in his back yard. So obviously the birds must have ate the seeds from across the road and dropped it in his back yard. They work with Jamaicas who buy the gully beans for $5 per pound. One year I bought a couple pounds. Last year I think the winter was harsh and I didn't get any. That reminds me to go check tomorrow to see how they are looking, cause you know the gully bean gets hard quickly. It is just like the ochro. So all these crops I see in Atlanta. One year the Cambodians even grew sugar came at the side of their house. It died in the winter time however. I grew up on 120 acres of land so farming is in my blood. I hope whoever asked that question reads this cause the system wouldn't allow me to reply individually

    Hey Marie. I'm from Manchester, Jamaica. Now in Atlanta Georgia, heading to Africa. Grew up on a farm. You can't plant the potatoe like that. You have to put the potato down for a couple weeks. Once it starts to rot, it will start shooting little stems. Then you cut the potato in maybe 2 or 3 sections. Then plant. I like the channel. I plant here in Atlanta, in flower pots. I don't have a lot of space, but I have parsley, Rosemary, basil, sage, skellion, time, mint, fennel, scotch bonnet peppers among other things. Keep up the work. Only one way to go. Up. !!. Blessings !!

    Hi Marie, I love your beautiful garden. I hope everyone takes your advice to plant a little garden now with vegetables because there will be a lot of price gouging going on. St Elizabeth is the bread basket of the island, and because they were hit the hardest from the hurricane, there will likely be a shortage of fresh produce.

      On a different note I noticed that you have several corn seedlings growing in one container. Corns are heavy feeders ,and should be about 20 inches apart for best results. In general if your plants are too tightly spaced so that they have to compete for nutrients you will have very poor harvests.

    • @FarmingOnTheRocks
      @FarmingOnTheRocks  29 дней назад

      @@eyeandisinclair821 we have different beliefs as it relates to that corn 🌽 thing. They can be planted even closer as long as enough nutrients in the soil. I've always planted them this way. You may go back and check out some of my corn harvests

    Thanks for responding. Did you have to 'truck in' alot of soil. I am doing a Court yard type of backyard gardening. I have to replant some things as well.
