Keeping it simple Russ... I do take addy off prior to disposal & recycle... I also make sure to call the company & demand removal of my address from their mailing list! And... ***THEY DO IT!*** tnxxx much Russ & stay warm! ***MERRY CHRISTMAS!***
I have been watching your channel for quite a while Russ. I am not a subscriber but I do appreciate you. You are like a friend and I look forward to you videos. I don't subscribe because I am a private type of person who doesn't want to bothered with messages. But I do want you to know that you are appreciated. Everything from E-bikes to pizza at Costco, you entertain me. I never knew the outer parts of Chicago were so nice. I look forward to all your videos. Thank you for doing what you do.
I also shred all of my mail that has my name and address on it. I hate taking everything apart, but I do it. I also have a pile on the table and a pile in a box.
Russ for the envelopes take a black pen and make crisscross lines through your name. This for the most part makes it impossible to read. It means more time but I find it worthwhile.
I keep shredded material in a covered compartment of my coffee table. The ads junk has no label and thrown away. Legitimate mail (bills) are kept in a nice drawer and shredded after payment. Shh.. I take the shredded material to work as they have a large bin dedicated for confidential destruction. A lot of separation work.
Russ, I do just about what you do on junk mail. One thing I hate is Sears sends me solicitation with 3 blank checks with my name on them. I have to make sure I destroy those.
I do most of the same things with junk mail. For boxes that obviously show what was delivered in it, like TVs and the like, I cut down and take it to a recycling center. Our township has one a couple of miles away. So I don't advertise what I bought on garbage pickup day. Bike boxes certainly fit this scenario. I also don't like putting the previous replaced item on the curb. Though useless, it says hey world, I got a new one in the house! I've noticed when neighbors purchase expensive stuff based on what goes out on the curb.
Abbie Hoffman in his book, “Steal This Book” said, if there is a return envelope ,postpaid, glue it to a brick and put it in a mailbox. I use the return envelope and return all the paper they sent me. 😊
I'd say 95% of my mail is junk. For labels, I typically shred or use an ID theft protector stamp. On the car's temperature sensor, it's usually behind the front bumper.
Must be nice to have multiple Costco's near you. 2 years ago they said they were building one close to me . There has been not meaningful progress on the site 😡
By the way, the fact that you didn't finish the video at your sisters house in northern California with the trike left me concerned for your safety. Be safe my friend. No trikes on big inclines. Glenn

Good advise to follow!

On a forensic level, we can still get the information back… but of course, most people would not know how to do that.
I know you did do a follow up video but still what you did was very risky.
I am from south Florida and high elevations scare me.

Yeah, I hate when companies do that!

Yeah, I don’t like putting the big boxes outside but I have no choice. I usually wait as long as I can before putting it out though.

Good to know where the sensor is!
Yah I do what you do shred and recycle.

I am still alive, so I guess that is what counts. 😊
I shred my junk mail also. It’s tedious but I don’t get that much of it. I do it right away and then I don’t need to deal with it later. 🗞️
That is Mrs. Right’s preferred method. 🤣
