What's with the incessant train horn throughout the whole trip? Aren't there any signals for the motorists AND the train similar to the setup in Amsterdam?
They are street running and have no room to put the gates between the tracks and the road, the traffic lights are supposed to prevent cars from going on the tracks when there is a train
JodhuaWebbs: The horns are like on the AMTRAK TRAINS. The sounding of the horns and gongs are an Interurban tradition. The South Shore Line motormen do the very same thing in Indiana.
Thank you for capturing the downtown tunnel
Glad you enjoyed!
My blood pressure went up watching this.
I’m sure
Great video Nick
Thank you!
@@flattrain5834 you are welcome

In america trains honk horns for every grade crossing, unless it’s a designated zone to not.
The horn IS the signal 😂 Mericuh things
Thankyou
Why are train required to stop at stop light? change in feature?
Man if they just blocked off half of those intersections, it could probably go twice as fast
We just need priority at street running lol

@@flattrain5834 By the way, do you know why some of the crossings have boom gates but others don't?

Traffic light preemption seems to be working a little bit better
In LA yes, Long Beach is still a little bit out of line though.
My guy is heavy with bell and horn
Yes indeed, glad I got this operator

Nice! Kinda sad to see that there's no P2020 anymore :(
Indeed
Nice, Is there a new project line LA Metro Gold Line for a Montclair To San Bernardino or Montclair To Ontario Airport?
I believe it’s going to Pomona
This has been proposed. Unclear if it will ever happen. It won't be built within a decade or so if it ever does.
NICE!
Thanks!
P2000s have the loudest LRV horn I have heard. Denver RTD light rail is 2nd.
The P865s on max volume are louder.
Can the volume be adjusted?
@@larailfan1714 The horns are electronic and can be adjusted. The volume (in decibel output) is regulated by the CPUC.
Septa has the loudest LRV/Trolley horn
Your actually right, I’m surprised a streetcar has a P2.
Nice also do u think you could do one on a p3010?. regardless this video is great :)

Hope that operator washed his hands and operators gear after adjusting his useless mask a thousand times full of his body fluids.
