Laci
As Lucy Van Pelt so succinctly put it..."A great, big, shiny, aluminum Christmas tree". The house looks absolutely mid-century divine! Merry Christmas!
You know, it’s funny that the special pretty much killed off the aluminum trend. They made it a negative symbol of commercializing Christmas, when in reality, what is more commercial? Buying one single tree, and being able to get decades of Christmas joy out of it, or having to buy a new tree every single year?
The tree is gorgeous but the VIEW from the window...Fantastic!!!
Thank you! It is an amazing view!
I love that your husband is on-board with your vintage craziness. I'm an old lady (73) so I remember a couple of Christmases with an aluminum tree.
So happy you’re back Laci!!! Your new home looks gorgeous and of course awesomely decorated for Christmas!!! Merry Christmas to you both👍👍🎄💕🎅🏻
Thanks so much! It feels very Christmas-y around here!
@@LaciFayTheVintageGirlNextDoor I love how Everythin looks. Looks like U have a nice view outside those windows. Happy Holidaze
New subscriber here! I loved every moment of this video. It brought back so many memories of my childhood. My dad worked for an aluminum corporation and one day he brought home an aluminum tree, just like the one you put up. We loved it with the light wheel. We never changed to any other tree after that. Your home is so lovely and filled with retro furnishings. When I saw the car in your drive, I couldn’t believe it! Perfection! I found tears running down my cheeks as I watched and remembered my mom and dad. It never dawned on me as a child just how cool my parents were and how fashionable. Merry Christmas and thank you for sharing! 🎄❄️💕🙏
Oh yes, I sooooo agree. Merry Christmas to you
hich What a treat this tour was. My hubby and I married in 1966 while he was still in the USAF. Our first tree was an aluminum tree with a few boxes of Shiny Brites which are now antiques. Thanks for the visit down memory lane. It is all just so sweet!
You did an amazing job! But that house really sets everything off, doesn't it? What a view!!! Also love the car sitting there. So cute!
For a lot of reasons, I am not doing decorations this year. But seeing yours really brightened my day. It inspires me for next year. Next year will be better. Xoxo
I absolutely love all the vintage looks in your house. Sooooo COZY !!!!! You are a match made in heaven. You both look so happy. I can’t tell you how much I enjoy anything vintage and watching all your videos. Thanks for sharing with all of us ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oh my! I love everything! It is so sweet to see the affection between you and your beloved. Makes my heart so happy. ❤ Merry Christmas!
Oh wow the picture windows just follow thru the dining room!!! Yes the wood ceiling!!! Ugh you have my dream house!!! All the built-ins also, my gosh... And how you like on top of the world view at night...just amazing ❤❤❤
It's so beautiful 😍 I love vintage Christmas decor so much it's just so much prettier!
Ahh thank you!!
It's all just so magical. I was born in 1947 and I remember all the decorations you have from my childhood. My favorite part of our Christmas trees were the bubble lights and the ice cycle strands which had waves in them. Thank you so much for the sweet memories, it made my heart sing to watch this video. Not only that but you're living my dream,. from what I could see out the window it looks like you're living on a hill which makes for a pretty view. Thanks once again and a very Merry Christmas.
Oh I also thought the view from the window was lovely!
Everything looks so beautiful 🎄❤️ Merry Christmas!!
Thank you ❤️
Everything looks so classic and beautiful!
Thanks so much!
This gave me all the feels!! Everything looks beautiful and cozy! You did a great job.
Ahh yay! Thank you!!
The "CERAMIC CHRISTMAS TREES " are more 80's/90's, but everything else, INCREDIBLE!!!! I especially LOVED the "Nativity Set"!!!! I'm sure your Grandmother is looking down from Heaven and smiling!!!!
Ceramic Christmas trees actually came about in the 1940's. The first ones were made by private artists. The first ceramic Christmas tree design that was copyrighted was done so by the Atlantic Mold Company in 1958.
@@gunpowder-n-lead512 Well, I made one in the 80's with my mom in a Ceramic Class. That's when I first started noticing them; but thanks for History Lesson!!!!
So cozy and pretty!! Love the tree, fireplace, the view, the vibes, all of it 💕💕💕
Love it thank you for sharing with us. Happy New Year’s.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Pretty pls go back to the red hair soon . It looks awesome on you
What a beautiful view and tree, love the big windows. We had a kitty who lived to be almost 18, and oh how I miss her early days and Christmas tree shenanigans. Since we adopted her from an abandoned liter near Christmas time, our daughters named her Candy Cane. Have a wonderful Merry Christmas 🌲☃️❤️
Can't wait to watch this! Love you Laci! So happy to happy to have you back on RUclips! Hope you have a very merry Christmas!!!!!🎅🎄⛄
Ahh thanks so much! You too!!
Aluminum Christmas trees? My birth parents had one when I was a small child, and kids being kids reached out and touched a branch - I got a zap that I remember to this day! I was born in 1962.
We had this tree when I was growing up. My mother used all shiny dark blue ornaments on it and we put it up in the living room picture window. We also had the color wheel. It was somewhat smaller than your newer version. Still I remember that tree, putting it up and putting it away for the next year. It all fit nicely in a flatter box. I loved that tree. Great memories.
I am so glad you're back Laci. I loved watching you guys decorate the Christmas tree. Merry Christmas to you both!❤
It's cool..I like real live trees . My family waits til at least mid December to put up our tree. We leave it up til January 6th, the 12th day of Christmas.
That view from the loving room is SPECTACULAR 🤩🤩 Beautiful tree and decorations as well!❤❤
Hi Laci after 10 years of not having a tree up I bought a new one at Lowes! New house new memories! Merry Christmas
Ah yay! Christmas trees make me happy.
I love the way you decorated. It brings back childhood memories. I grew up in the sixties, and we had decorations just like yours. Merry Christmas.
I had this same tree as a little girl, and still have the ornaments. The tree is no longer here. Love your decorations!
THANK YOU for putting the nativity out front! There are millions of Santa's in neighborhoods everywhere, but the reason for the season season, the baby Jesus, is a rare find anymore.
Beautiful Christmas decorations! I have one vintage Christmas ornament that has survived from the year my parents got married in 1956. I’m afraid it will get broken if I put it on the tree so it’s on permanent display with some other vintage things in a vintage pie safe in my dining room.
Oh my gosh I haven't seen an aluminum Christmas tree since I was a kid in the mid '60's! And the color wheel! Just awesome, love it! The new house is beautifully decorated, well done!
PS...next year ask Santa for a Lionel train set to put under your aluminum Christmas tree 🎄 🚂
Do you have the color wheel light to go with the silver tree? I remember my mother adding that to ours
Laci! I Followed your tutorial and made my own bubble light display this year! I love it so much! ✨
Your new house is breathtaking and so cozy for Christmas.🎄
Your new home is spectacular, and especially so decked out for Christmas. And I loved seeing you and your boyfriend decorating together, with stolen kisses, special looks and the shot of you together arm in arm admiring the tree reminds me of a sweet, old movie but in living colour. I usually start decorating the first weekend of December. Thanks for the fun.😊❤🎄
I have such warm memories of aluminum Christmas trees. I was 6 years old in 1970 and remember my grandparents having an aluminum tree, and then the next year they bought a new fake Christmas tree (more realistic) and the aluminum tree went to my parents, and was then set up in the finished rec-room in our basement. I would watch the tree for a good half hour with the color wheel constantly changing the color of the tree. It's so nice to see it set up in your home, and with the appropriate ornaments as well. I love the wrap around windows in your living room. Looks like a lodge or other vacation home.
Your home is amazing!..So are you Laci.. I've enjoyed your channel and love the kitties and your tall handsome fiance!. One tradition in my home was nuts with a nutcracker set put on the table along with tangerines and the ribbon candies..yum also egg nog with or w/o spirits..your outside is a Christmas wonderland.. enjoy the most wonderful time of the year and check out the Andy Williams Christmas shows!❤❤❤
I am 74 young. We never had an aluminum tree. Bit I do collect vintage and antique CMAS treasures especially ornaments from 1900 to 1980. Mt tree is a slim green one loaded with vintage and antique ornaments some from my childhood. I have treasures I have never seen in anyone's home and watched lots of videos. I also have a mix of new to make it interesting. Thank you. Trudy in PA. USA
I always put my decorations up after Halloween! Your home is beautiful! And Jason is a doll! So happy for you!
I remember some relatives had these trees. My parents and grandparents always had real trees (Balsam). I have all my mom’s ornaments from the 50s. I also have my grandparents bubble light, but haven’t put them on the tree in many years. Too dangerous now.
❤ Truely eye candy for me! Thank you Lacey for sharing your vintage flair. Merry Christmas!
If there is Vintage clothing plus the classic British accent it could kill me. Feels like a movie during World War one but in HD🥰
Soothing concept! People are lovely in vintage full suits! Back then, every man looked like a Lord while every woman was a Lady!💖
Absolutely beautiful! Thanks again for sharing!
I put mine up 12am November 1st lol
Your dining room looks magical! We had one of those aluminum trees when I was little but I remember it being fuller - likely due to all the icicles/tinsel we threw on it! Yours looks lovely.
I love the new house. I too have a new fella in my life so appreciate your excitement.
Thank you for showing the tree. I loved seeing the Santa on a rocket that I sent you in use.
Have a marvelous holiday! Glad you are back to posting.
Janice, your vintage pal in Canada.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your tree! 🎉
I have a vintage Alumiinum Pom-Pom branch tree I bought on Ebay many years ago, it's in it's original box and has the waxed paper sleeves ... I have loved it so much! ❤
My color wheel broke, so I'll check out the place you found yours!
Just ANOTHER fun video... Merry Christmas, sweetheart!
You’re home is STUNNING! Can’t wait to see more of your fabulous decor! Merry Christmas from Nashville!🎄❤️🥰❤️🥰
My sister, Aviva Naomi, once again will be attending Christmas Eve Services at Cypress Creek Church in Wimberley,Texas this year for 2024.
Oh my goodness......I had a smaller version of that Tree when I was a teenager, in my bedroom! Lol.....
I just bought a "White Branch like tree with Gumdrops for lights" at the Gift Shop at my place of Employment......It was $50, but I waited until it was 50%off....It works beautifully! I'm in a "Christmas Tree" and "Snowman" theme for Christmas 2025. I also got a small white porcelain tree with built in lights, like my Grandma's table top green porcelain tree with built-in lights that she had when I was a kid. She favored "Big Lights" and my parents liked small blinking colored lights. I love Christmas decorations! Your home looks Gorgeous!
I know a few people who are into "Retro" homes...... furniture and decor. Blessings to you and your family! 😊
Everything is so beautiful!! Your view is wonderful as well as your home. Perfect!! Thank you!❤
Watching from the State of Rhode Island-Ha! Wonderful, warm & charming-& of course such fun & interesting vintage decor. Thanks for sharing! Peace! All! 😇
Your new home is beautiful and your decorations really gives me the spirit of Christmas. Thank you for sharing. Love from Texas and Merry Christmas ❤️❤️❤️🤠🎅🤶🧑🎄
I was right back in my childhood, Laci! Merry *Christ*mas & happy new year to you & your love. Grateful to see you happy! Blessings! Jackie in upstate NY
I start decorating for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving.
Decorations come down January 7th.
I have a 3 foot “Taper Tree” aluminum tree that my parents bought in the mid 1960’s.
A Penetray color wheel, bought at the same time as the tree, lights it.
The tree and the color wheel get put up every Christmas season.
The color wheel still has the original light bulb!
I hang vintage plastic ornaments on it - mostly “Make It and Bake It” from the 1970’s (plastic “stained glass”).
🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Love everything so much and the home. Born 1959 Christmas back then was so special warm cozy it was Christmas 🎄 and the vintage and mid century furniture makes it that much more special ❤
Holy cow, your house! Omg! I’m dying. I’ve been looking to find a non flipped mcm style house for 4 yrs and…omg. I die. That would seriously be unaffordable here if found :( Plus, faboo Christmas decorations! The blow mold outdoor items! All the lit ceramic trees! (Mom’s old ceramic tree holds toothpicks for hors d’oeuvres.) The fun tree with ornaments like my parent’s ones. I even have the cream sweater that was my aunt’s. That was SUCH a treat! I can’t wait to see the rest of the house. It even comes with a view. I want to be your neighbor, lol! Thank you for sharing, it’s all so lovely.
Like a lot of people, Christmas cookies are a must. I have my mom’s 1950s cutters from childhood. When she passed I found a note with them that said, “now you’ll have to make the sugar cookies” I do. Every year and ship them to the rest of the family.
I have a pretty regimented décor schedule, lol. Sept 1 = Fall, Oct 1 = layer on Halloween, Nov 1st = revert to Fall, day after TG = Christmas, which stays up till usually a week or so after NY day, then Winter till Feb = valentine day. There is a lot of crossover decor within those.
Beautiful job! LOVE the picture windows! Have a happy holiday.
I’m loving your beautiful new Mid-Century home. The house and decor look fantastic Laci, as do you and your beau. Merry Christmas to you and yours. And Happy New Year! So glad that you are back! 🙂🙂
G’day Laci, wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year. 👍🇦🇺
Absolutely stunning! I love the view from the windows, breathtaking! I was born in 1950 and that is my tree with the color wheel! Thank you for sharing. Beautiful memories of Christmas growing up. Have a blessed night. Love your new home you look extremely happy, the both of you.😊😊 love me and Otis🐶Massachusetts.. and I know the Vermont country store very well, some things are kind of pricey, but you can find hard to find items there. I absolutely love the nativity scene. What a wonderful memory from your grandmother❤ outside looks just as beautiful as your inside. I love this house so much ❤can’t wait to see your tour.
I love it all! It's so beautiful! It gives the ski-lodge vibes from "White Christmas," which I know you love! Have a Merry Christmas!
Such a beautiful home and decorations their breathtaking, when I was able to do all my decorations I would start early i would put so much time into them. i wanted to be able to enjoy them as long as possible.
They was some years i would start Thanksgiving weekend if i got to busy with everything i would always try to have them up by December 1-3 of course I'm a Christmas decoration fool lol. Always put the beautiful things up early enough to really enjoy it by just sitting in the evenings and taking it all in its really relaxing and brings back such precious memories.
Laci, you look so lovely and happy ⛄ 🎄 MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄 ⛄
Holy crap…that is a million dollar view, not sure where you live but damn….can I come visit for Christmas dinner?.. fabulous! I was born in The wrong decade… I know I belong in the 50’s luckily I married a man who has let me live my dream of being a housewife for the past 36 years…I love cooking baking and keeping house.. my dream…love your channel!
Is he your new man? He looks handsome and friendly 😊 ❤ I am happy for you! And a very special pretty Christmas tree! 🎄 And beautiful all the lights and decorations. 🌟☃️🎇🎆
Your house is just perfect! The view out the living room windows is amazing! Love it all!
My childhood 1950's Christmas decor was just a live tree with WWII ornaments, a manger scene and our stockings that my mom made on the mantle. That was it. Not as over the top as people do now. Just Merry!
So beautiful and cozy! I especially loved the ceramic trees display. Do you live on a hill? That looked like a beautiful vista of lights outside your windows. Have a lovely evening, you two. Blessings - Judith 🎤🎭
LOVE IT!! I bought an aluminum tree from an antique vendor it is 4ft tall, and I got it for $125! But it also didn't come in the box or with sleeves, but I am going to have to find that Ebayer who sells the sleeves! Merry Christmas to you, Jason, and your son, oh and the kitties, of course!
I put my Christmas tree up and all the decorations the day after Thanksgiving. My Black Friday is decorating all weekend lol. Your tinsel tree is one of my dreams I hope someday to own one. I live in a 1970s house and I am a lover of everything vintage. I'm new to your channel and I'm binge-watching I love it❤😂
Hi Lacey greetings from country down in n .Ireland🌲🌲
I your tree and little home are just like stepping back in time.. I remember those trees from childhood and vintage decorations..it's so pretty..❤ thanks so much for sharing ,, hugs to the kitties. Happy Christmas ⛄⛄ xx
(Tom here.)
You have a beautiful home and your decorations are fantastic, Mam. Thank you for sharing your home's decorations with us, Laci. I hope you and yours had a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you for sharing your life's passion for bygone years with us all, Mam. Take care. (Tom)
Beautiful! We had an aluminum tree when I was a child and teen in the 60’s and 70’s. My mother let me put it up, I still remember taking the branches out of the sleeves and inserting them in the holes. We had vintage filigree balls in different colors to put on the tree. Nice memories!
Your view is just to die for, wow!!! I love your Christmas decor it goes so well with your midcentury home. Your home is so lovely! I can't wait to see a full home tour. I'm so happy for you and your sweetheart. I wish you so much happiness for the new year.
I hope your Holidays were so wonderful. I missed you so much, but I am so happy to see that your life is going so well.
My Dad worked for Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Corporation in Ravenswood, West Virginia. He started there in 1960. I can remember being a little 5 yr old girl that loved Christmas more than anything. The company always had a huge Christmas party for all the workers and their families. I specifically remember one year the they gave every family an aluminum Christmas tree. I thought it was gorgeous. My Mom said it pretty but I still like my real tree. I have no idea what ever happened to it, but I sure do wish I had it now. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us as you decorate.
And, I normally start decorating on October 31st. Then I don feel so rushed
Sorry , made the comment about the Putz houses before I seen the part of the dinning room. I love your home. Brings back a lot of memories. I was born in 1956. I remember so many things even back when I was just 3years old. I identify with the 50's the most.
Wow! Your house looks great! I start decorating the weekend after Thanksgiving. If we get a live tree, which we did this year, we usually get it around my birthday. Dec 6. It a fun, festive time and leads to happy exhaustion! 😆
Holy smokes your living room is amazing. The view is fantastic. Just perfect
Nice tree! I saw a Back to the Future Delorean time machine ornament! Your house looks so cozy! Some of my childhood memories of Christmas traditions were going to my grandparents (Mom's side) on Christmas eve. We had that side of that family there and we played the white elephant game. Then we would just go across the street to visit my other grandparents (Dad's side) and had a vist and gift exchange there. Then the next day we would go to my great uncle and aunt's (Dad's side) house for a Christmas dinner and gift exchange. .
=)
Growing up in the 1960's, we had an aluminum Christmas tree. The color wheel was different from the one you got at the Vermont Country Store. It reflected on the tree much brighter than your light. The four colors on our wheel were a heavy-duty type thick seran type plastic rather than hard plastic. It projected with brighter coloring to the aluminum. Your is pretty, as well. Enjoyed this blast from the past video. Thanks! You should play Christmas songs on the piano.
This was phenomenal! I feel like it's 1954. I have the pastel pink deer as well as a baby blue one and a ceramic pink tree. I love the aluminum tree, the 60's Peanut's Christmas killed the aluminum tree lol
But I really like them and I think they are making a comeback. Love the decor and especially the bubble lights.
Beautiful! You are an amazing decorator. Thank you for sharing your step back in time. So fun to remember the good Ole days. Have a very retro Christmas 🎄!
Absolutely stunning!!
I am in love with your new home! The vaulted ceilings, wood trim, and windows give such an awesome cabin vibe. I also like how the blinds "disappear" when you put them up. Such a beautiful home, Laci. I've missed your videos. We have a glass tree topper like yours that belonged to my mom and dad. It's still in its original box with the price tag of 79 cents on it. I keep it in my china cabinet because it's so fragile. It doesn't fit on our tree, but I still love to have it around. Welcome back!
I don't remember when I stopped watching your channel, but I am so glad to be back! :) Love your content. Vintage girly here
What a gorgeous view and wonderful collection. I bought three Joy banner, I loved the Santa. He reminds me of the Santa from A Christmas Story 😅
I just have to tell you the architecture of your new home is absolutely spectacular!! The view out those windows at night! Wow, and your decorations are like you, simply gorgeous!! Your new guy is also and please don't be offended. He is very yummy handsome!! I just love it all so very very very much!!!
Adorable! Have you ever gotten Tru-Tone lights before? My husband just surprised me with them this year and I thought of you - they look so authentically vintage and even the packaging is spot on!
Hi 🤗I love your Christmas decorations But I have to ask, I used to watch you all the time but haven't seen you in awhile. I don't remember your house looking like this?🤔But want to wish you a Merry Christmas ❄🎄❄
Oh Laci it's fabulous, I seen your T- bird outside. I just sold my original 50s 4ft aluminum tree and buyer was thrilled, now I have regrets after seeing yours. I have a smaller 3ft on the seat of a mustang pedal car and all my Putz houses are all gathered about. Merry Christmas to you.
What a wonderful and beautiful tour of your new FANCY digs !!. Your whole home looks like it should be featured in an episode of Mad Men. If I may offer an opinion and or a tip. With your plug in wall clocks, there is a cord guide that does a great job of disguising or hiding the wire. It at least makes it more presentable. You can find it most anywhere if you know what to ask for. Wire Mold. Usually available in white, black, and grey, but is paintable too. That can add a level of detail for your clock and wall. Sorry, got off course there. We usually start with the Christmas trimmings the day after T-giving and do one thing or decorative area at a time. Takes about 2 weeks to complete whatever that years degree of transformation to Christmas-topia. On a different note, it takes maybe 2 days to get into the "Where the hell did we get all this stuff?" frame of mind. We never use more than half of what we have.
The sleeves? I know you said your orefered some and maybe I am not sure exactly what they were/are, however, umbrella covers could work ? They are free! Plastic, yes, usable, yes. Just a thought!
❤your videos!!
I'm confused because I just saw a video of a woman that looks just like you with red hair: ruclips.net/video/HFBCHQJBkB8/видео.html
Are you the same person here called "Dane Fay" from 4 years ago? Did you re-marry? I love your style and will follow you no matter what, Merry Christmas!!
We love your channel!! Beautiful, elegant Christmas decor!
Awesome video, Laci! It’s beautiful to see you so happy and in your new vintage home. 🥰 I live where our land is flat.... I’m so confused... Is your house on a hill?
My goal in life is to own a vintage aluminum Christmas tree. My best friend has one she inherited and I'm so jealous! 😂
I just found your channel. I love the 50s and 60s and have a lot of collected items. I'm still working on it, but my goal is to have a house decorated very similar to yours. So glad I found your channel!
Your home is 1950's holiday divine! I hope to one day have a vintage aluminum tree to display my vintage Shiny Brite ornaments on. These ornaments include one that is a family heirloom & was once part of a dozen Shiny Brite ornaments my parents received for a wedding present. My favorite part of Christmas was when my parents would unpack these ornaments & tell us stories about how they met & their wedding day (they got married while my dad was in college & he was almost late to the wedding because he had to take his semester exams). Over the years, with all the moves & my 2 siblings & I being rambunctious kids, all but 3 of the ornaments broke. Before she passed away, my mom gifted my siblings & I with one of the remaining ornaments. I got my favorite one that looks like a glitter encrusted Chinese lantern. It is one of my greatest treasures & one of my happiest memories.
Love your house! We started our outdoor decorations the weekend before Thanksgiving and worked on them each day until Thanksgiving. We decorated indoors during the few days following Thanksgiving.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home! I love the display of bubble lights, and the aluminum tree is just the touch! Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas! They view from your living room is amazing. I just love your knew home. You and your sweety are so cute!
