After more than thirty years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him. When he finds himself training a detachment of Top Gun graduates for a specialized mission the likes of which no living pilot has ever seen, Maverick encounters Lt. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), call sign: “Rooster,” the son of Maverick’s late friend and Radar Intercept Officer Lt. Nick Bradshaw, aka “Goose.” Facing an uncertain future and confronting the ghosts of his past, Maverick is drawn into a confrontation with his own deepest fears, culminating in a mission that demands the ultimate sacrifice from those who will be chosen to fly it.

Tom Cruise can put together a 2-minute thank you video to the fans that contains more practical shots and thrills than most modern movies can pack into 2 hours.
Imagine if they put this kind of enthusiasm into MCU phase 4.

@Bartooc he's been a star for 30+ years and he never misused his influence on people by promoting scientology. nowdays people with little bit of attention push thier ideologies to the masses and this man chooses to continue his work and inspire millions of people to stay fit till old
Gotta respect Tom's attitude towards the audience: "And as always, thank you for allowing us to entertain you. It truly is the honor of a lifetime."
What a gentleman. A rare occurrence in today's Hollywood that are acting like medieval priests and inquisition.
It is a lost trait in Hollywood!
This when you know that the person loves his job and his audience.
Yeah he doesn't hate the audience like the others. We are at a point in time where the scientologists are the most sane in Hollywood.
O yes
That is insane. Falling to Earth and chatting like he's at the water cooler. Cruise is the man!
The water cooler part has to be the most random thing I have ever heard of when it comes to tom cruise
Lol! Smiling as he's swirling through the air
What a badass
It's weird seeing someone do a stunt this and not end with "like comment and subscribe" while plugging Raid Shadow legends and AG1 powder in an overly long video
As a licensed skydiver I can guarantee you this was CGI. You can’t hear ANYTHING when you’re skydiving. The wind is so strong you can’t even hear yourself screaming.
He’s a legit skydiver though. His interview with James Corden is a great video to see. No idea why they didn’t do something legit like that for this video.
Can we appreciate the fact that he is giving thanks to the audience while falling from the skies in a very calm way? For me the GOAT of acting in action movies
Its the GOAT with no doubt, Tom Cruise is one and only

That was the entire context of the video so yeah I think we all by default appreciated that without you needing to point it out.

People seem to forget... Tom Cruise opening monolog at 2002 Oscars. This was a few months after 9/11, the world still on edge after those attacks and what followed (flying, anthrax, public gatherings as targets, etc.)
His opening monolog was both a love letter to movies and a reminder to not let terrorists win by avoiding what you'd otherwise normally do... enjoy the movies for example.
He put the industry on his back over 20yrs ago and still does with every incredible movie he puts out every other year or so. Insanely talented person.
Thanks Tom.
That was extremely impressive. To just calmly step out of a Helicopter at thousands of feet up, then continue speaking to the camera as if he was simply sitting on the couch having a normal conversation. That takes some major balls... Mad respect!
@@slamscum2786 I agree, as a stunt person, that is the only amount of respect I have ever had towards him. I don't care for him as a person because he is cocky and arrogant, but the characters he plays are far greater than who he is in real life, he could never be such a genuine guy tbh.

It’s not just ‘respect for his audience’, it’s respect for himself. Confidence is contagious.
Wonder where the wife of the president of Scientology is
I'm a Christian so yes his faith is troubling & Christ is more important than movies & we believers will be with Christ for eternity while movies & everything else that has nothing to do with Christ will perish & I can't wait for that day. But I will say I love most of his movies & am thankful that he has been blessed to entertain us & he actually cares about us & respects us as a audience. Now with his personal life I hope he gets right with God & I'll keep him in my prayers but hey he has to choose if he wants to live with christ or die & spend the rest of his life in hell. We all have to make that choice whether we watch his movies or not. God Bless
@SlamScum and when a person runs a business what are they trying to do. when you do your job what are you trying to do. just saying
@SlamScum the whole movie business is dirty but you only want to blame tom, the clothes you wear I bet came from a sweatshop. you gonna stop wearing clothes. what about your shoes, what about what you eat. do you have that smoke for everything, if so than I can buy what your selling.
@SlamScum good for you but i'm not putting money into scientology either but your not gonna tell me what i should or shouldn't watch. his personal life isn't the greatest but I can enjoy his movies while praying he comes to Christ. if he doesn't then he will face the consequences eventually probably in hell unless he asks for forgiveness of his sins. and that's a choice every man has to make whether he watches Tom's movies or not. As for Cruise not being afraid, during your AFF training they make you do solos (which is where you jump out by yourself). Just you alone with the void. That pretty much cures the fear for most student skydivers.
Most people assume it’d take 800 jumps to control your fear. It’s more like 8.

Beliefs can be incredibly dangerous to society, and have caused endless wars from the horrendous Christian Crusades to 911 and all other terrorattacks, general violence, assassinations and other manifestations of madness and irrationality throughout human history. It would be lovely if it really didn't matter, but in reality, it matters a lot what we "believe" is real.

Unless you're a Trump supporter. Then throw your pleasant message out the window.
@@Funexpected Even for those kinds of humans, as challenging as that can be. There is good and bad in everyone. What is your shadow self working on?
Thanks tom cruise on RUclips For the support. I hope to watch "Top Gun Maverick" with you asap.
Damn. Much respect to him and to the person behind the camera. I would never have the guts to skydive, not to mention being so casual about it.
He makes a fall at 150 km/h looking chiller than leaning on your sofa.
Protection glasses looks cominf from Ghost Protocol tower scene btw 😂
Very 😎. Merry Christmas Tom and happy new year ✌
Tom really is a badass, doing a thank you video while free falling a couple thousand feet up. What a pro.

its cgi wake up sheep
@@FBIhandlerlol you are the sheep. 🤣
Actually more than a couple, that was 12-14,000 feet
@@FBIhandler That's NOT CGI.
No actor like this guy. I have went back and watch this a few times. Unbelievable how he just step off the edge like that, free falling backwards and talks like he's having coffee. Much respect for TC.
Lol Xenu
I wonder who was filming him. I guess the camera man was free falling too. So crazy to see.
Legend! There was a time I thought he was a bit on the odd side but as times gone on I’ve realised that aside from his beliefs/religion etc he will go down as one of Hollywoods greatest. He’s ridiculously humble, thanking us, the audience for allowing him to entertain us. Bravo Mr Cruise there aren’t many A-listers like you!
He8s not humble when it comes to using slave labor within his “religion.”
He's my go-to example of separating the artist from the art.
My jaw was on the floor when I saw Top Gun: Maverick. My respect and admiration to this guy who keeps enjoying life and doing great films.
P.D.: A guy who takes his time to thank his audience doing crazy things like this WHILE filming a movie, surely has a lot of humbleness and balls made of steel in the same body. A total BADASS.
Absolutely .. and what an absolute delight Top Gun Maverick was.. made for the big screen and how ..
An actor who still displays true passion and dedication to his films
Exactly! If you love something, you will be great at it! He loves making great films!
you misspelled defecation 🤣😂
Wait…I thought the actors were supposed to hate us and tell not to see their movies if we dont agree with them on everything. Cruise is a breath of fresh air… class act.
We appreciate ya Tom . Thanks for giving amazing movies .. and hope you had some fabulous Christmas cheer and memories as well... here's to 2023
Thank you Tom. Happy New year
Gotta admit, this dude is one helluva a promoter of his movies and entertainer. There is no actor in the world quite like him.
What a difference! I see studios blaming "the audience" for their failures, but it's rare and wonderful to see one giving credit to the audience for their success. Wonderful!
Don't be so gullible and use your brain a little more. If Maverick was a failure, you'll see him give the Finger to everyone. :)
Dude is such a badass!
This guy is so cool and is kicking it at the box office
I'm not the one to get star struck - but my God I have mad respect for Tom Cruise. Top Gun Maverick was AMAZING and just what we needed IN THEATERS! Keep on doing what you do, sir. You will always have our attention! Peace!
He is OT 999

This is something you rarely see-an actor being grateful, thankful, and appreciative of us consumers. Thanks Tom and happy holidays!
Your very welcome Tom.
Took my wife and daughter 3 times and it was worth EVERY penny.
Thanks
What an absolute icon of cinema! He deserves so much credit for the work he does, I actually think he’s underrated. The dedication he puts into his movies, no other actor is on his level.
No, thank _YOU,_ Tom! Thank for your commitment to superb film-making. Thank you for not forgetting what makes for great entertainment. Thank you for the personal risks you take to provide us edge-of-our-seat action! Thank you for never forgetting us fans!
What an absolute legend! ❤
The fact he STILL does this is unbelievably amazing. Statistically something can happen. I hope they stay careful and don’t ever overdue it because of fan pressure.
I don't think fan pressure would be an issue. Tom Cruise would do this even if no one were watching. He likes doing it as much, if not more than we like seeing it
I wouldn't worry though. The man is widely known for taking safety, protocol, and practice very seriously
If dies he dies. It’s about living your best life. Death is inevitable. You’ll never be ready for it and that’s the point.
Fan Pressure?
He's the Pressure.
He's the one who knocks.
i think Death is present on all of his amazing stunts, but this is because Death is also a big Tom Cruise fan
Will we ever, ever get a Keanu Reeves/Tom Cruise Film in our lifetime? People would pay a fortune to watch that at the cinema!!
That'd be amazing. Would love to see it.
