My sister is a complete normie who only knows of superheroes from movies and tv. I was helping her out with something today and while we were talking I explained One More Day to her and she was so horrified that Marvel thought that was a good idea.
On the topic of the new ASM writer I could imagine Ben Percy, he’s a current writer who writes a lot, he went to 50 issues on two separate ongoings which is a feat nowadays. He’s a solid writer, that some would get excited for, most would be apathetic but no one would be mad.
I’ll give you a little inside information. They have been looking for Zeb Wells’ successor for almost a year and several people have turned down the job including Ryan North. Most recently the offer was on the table for Cody Ziglar.
Thank heavens. This has been one of the worst runs ever. Drawn out stories, too many event tie-ins, poor characterization, and atrocious art from JRjr. I miss the days when I was excited for JMS' run and 1st year or so of Brand New Day. My LCS apparently sells more copies of the ASM facisimiles than the current series.
Jim from Weird Science has been playing Survivor for years living with his family. How many more years does Jim have before his wife snuffs out the flame on his torch & tells Jim, "The tribe has spoken".
The real nightmare is Nick Lowe. He doesn't want Peter Parker and Mary Jane getting remarried for some reason he's thinks a miserable and down he's lucky Peter Parker will sell comics. Get a new editor problem solved.
You have to remember that Marvel Comics is still run by the guys who thought people would be excited for Gail Simone relaunching UXM. Since Dr Strange is done I’m guessing it’s Jed McKay on ASM but otherwise since they can’t afford top writers they’re going to go w a woman writer like Kelly Thompson or something.
Missed the show today (and last week - but that wasn't MY fault!) but got to watch the replay - keep strong boys and keep rolling along! Looking forward to the Acolyte Review - even if DLPGT+ is cracking down hard on folks. They should probably look at the product, not the reaction to it to right that ship!
It was a decent DOOM PATROL story. Pretty fun. Issue #70 release in late 1993 right at the beginning of the Vertigo imprint. It fits in quite well with the Grant Morrison stories that came before (and shameless plug but check out Jim Werner of Weird Science over at Wakizashi's Teahouse they covering the Morrison Doom Patrol of whom are also panel mates on Comic Aficionados! -eo's). The second story The Geek again from 1993 wasn't my favorite but we got some killer art by the Allreds). And the main reason I got it and spent $10 on it was to support Joe Corallo, friend to these parts and circles. He got a 10-page new story with Rachel's character set in the modern Unstoppable DP Era that Culver and Burnham & Co. recently did. So they're reprints of older stories, Rachel is dead, it's a Memorial. That's fine with me I get facsimile floppies all the time now. Yet I'll finish my long-winded response here by saying I am proud of my Gay family and friends. I can't speak to the other Pride comics or their quality but this one was alright. Blood drinking vampires are overused. If they're going to make a good vampire story, they can't just keep on using the same type of vampires over and over again. I like Dracula as much as the next guy but there are other kinds of monsters out there. How do they expect to have the less popular and obscure creatures to be made popular and well known without giving them a chance to sell? They have the kiangchi from China that feeds on chi force. They have the jinkininki from Japan that drinks blood and eats people. They have the mananaangal from the Philippines witch is one of the many demons called aswan. They have incubi and succubi which feed on life forces. There are various forms of supernatural vampires from all kinds of ancient myths and legends. They all don't always have to be the vampires from European folklore like the ones from Transylvania.
My number one pick who completely understands Peter Parker/Spider-man is Jeph Loeb’m really curious about who Marvel is going to bring in to do the writing. They need to get rid of editorial staff including Nick Lowe they can take “Paul” with them.
Wonder Woman Earth One is an abysmally bad comic book. I would argue it was the worst Wonder Woman comic book of all time when it was released (tied with the stuff from the past few years now.)

Oh from the worst to what's the best then? I have read several volumes of WW and she was mostly a douche and/or the story was mid. I did like "JLA League of One" and "Gods and Mortals".
Dok simped out for comics for decades. Now that comics industry are in the crapper & betraying Dok's love for the medium. Leaves him time to pursue for more "physical" pursuits which I am happy for him.
I just read the HOB 2.5 special and I’m wondering what the hell is the point of the story Campaign Headquarters?? Even if it goes somewhere, who cares! And why the fuck should I give two shits about reading it?? Boring as hell and obviously a social commentary, I can’t even believe someone drew that. And not against my shop but it was a 7$ comic. What a waste.
I disagree, Magz can actually write fun stories without having any trans in it: Ms Marvel Annual, is pretty much the best solo Ms. Marvel I've ever read. It cost way to much, but it was a great One-shot. I also really liked her Jenny Hex Comic, It's kind of sad that the Jenny Hex Comic wasn't a mini series. I think she could have done something fun with that character🤷♀️
Zeb Wells will forever be known for Paul that’s his contribution and legacy to Spider-man.
