For context, we recorded this two weeks before we lost Benny.
I hope you’re doing okay sal
I’m sorry for your loss
We love you Sal and we love(d) Benny just as much and will miss him so so much
Im a 34 year old man and this comment gave me goosebumps. Still weird to hear he's gone.
gotcha
Well that settles it. Sal needs to watch Batman and Robin...ideally with the entire Comicpop crew. Epic vid in the making.
I thought he watched it for Batwatch on the Absolutely channel. Unless he just forgot he watched it.
Sal and Josh talking about comic book movies, specifically about both the good movies and the trauma-causing ones is what I live for. I'm absolutely crazy about it. I also love that Josh brought up that guy in every bad movie-watching experience who gives everyone permission to realize they are watching a bad movie. And then Sal has his story where he's like "Well of course I know him. He's me."
For everything wrong with Batman and Robin, it's version of Gotham is one of my favorites. It's weird and neon and there's massive statues and skyscrapers everywhere and I love that vibe.
this is the first I'm hearing that Sal has a brother
RIP ComicStorian
Helped me in a very difficult time in my life with those videos that I will cherish and be grateful for his time here
Love u comicpop
Sal being humble about "read a crisis book", he's also made a couple comics.
I had a similar experience in the theater watching Ghost Ship. Me and the dozen other folk in the theater just ripped that movie apart. It was my first spontaneous MST3000-style encounter in the wild. I’ll never forget it, and it definitely elevated the movie going experience.
Josh’s depiction of the absolute grindhouse style experience of the motorcycle scene is amazing.
Batman and Robin is such a comfort movie for me whenever I just feel like watching good shit.
44:40 That's so funny! Because the comic adaptation of Ang Lee's hulk drawn by Bagley is a 10 times better experience.
Ah damn you beat me to it! Agreed though it’s actually a dope comic, Bagley Hulk is sick!
Sal just do your best and tackle each day at a time, losing someone close to you is never easy. Your not alone either bud. Miss you Benny
Sal I hope you guys are holding up okay. Take as much time as you need we’ll be here for you when you’re ready ❤
I want an Ambush Bug event maker than I can say - loved him showing up in Fire and Ice Welcome to Smallville
Man these two like to yap about movies and comics! (And I like to listen!)
Hell yeah I'd love another live show. So much fun, and I was so glad I could actually watch live.
Love this duo, and always love finding out how comics are made
1:46:16 Thanks for answering my question, guys. I did mean real world event, for some reason I could not figure out how to phrase it at all and I was running out of space, haha. Still, great episode as usual. Hearing you guys discuss any topic is so fascinating and fun and when Josh talks about the comics industry in any way it is always so insightful and engaging. Thanks for what y'all do, it's truly some of the best content on this site.
The problem with MK Annihilation is that they tried to squeeze the entire MK 3 story and all the characters into the movie and then tried setting up a sequel with Shinnok being at the end
I have the exact opposite reaction to seeing a packed theatre. I live in smaller city, and my theatre is in a dying mall. I expect every showing I go to to have no one. I am shocked whenever there are more than three people, me included. It's even more surprising when I go at Noon on a Tuesday.
please do a whole video on comicbook advice! wow would be so cool!
RIP benny i will miss you so much and i know this must be hard for your guys but i am hoping you guys are doing okay.
Black Adam vs Doctor Doom
That was so amazing. Thank you so much. I truly appreciate the information.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love On Stranger Tides. I will defend that movie. Seeing it on the biggest screen possible was unbelievably fun.
I love Ian McShane as Blackbeard in that film. My favorite Pirates is Dead Man’s Chest though.
Aliens, The dark Knight and terminator 2 are fantastic sequels
Keep the light shining.
Was waiting all day for this! 👍
Engagement and interaction with creator to please the mathemagics that choses what gets seen or not.
As an animated series fan will Luminus or Volcana ever show up in Superman?
I LOVE Volcana and wish she’d get used more
The theatre in Tampa I was the protectionist for showed the dailies of the Punisher.
Meteor Man I have that on DVD, haven't thought about that movie in yrs.
I’m about 45 minutes into this, and you guys talked about Ang Lee’s Hulk (overhated) and wanted to actually let you know if you didn’t already that there actually IS a comic book adapting the movie DRAWN BY MARK BAGLEY and it’s actually really freakin cool!
Great content as always
Appreciate it!
If you listen to this without context, sounds like Joel 😂
The first movie I realized was terrible was Transformers: Revenge of the fallen. So many people work on movies that surely someone would have stopped them from releasing it if it was bad. Surely Someone would’ve said let’s fix it
There was a street gang in Batman and Robin, in the motorcycle race scene, dressed as Alex and his droogs from Clockwork Orange. Why, who knows.
How did you guys not talk about T2: Judgement Day?
I have to watch batman and robin now
League of comic geeks is wonderful. It's missing a handful of little things clz has, but it's free compared to clz being 15 monthly. My whole collection is catalogued in it. Has succeeded in minimizing duplicates.
For Josh, will task force 11 from jl vs ss ever be followed up on
The only problem with Batman and Robin is they didn't make more of them. B&R and The Batman are the two ends of the spectrum in my opinion of the fun of Batman from silly and fun to grim and noir.
This rules
♥️
The abomination was the bad thing about that movie in terms of cgi
