Seems like more water would result in less heat, as it would overwhelm the reactant material. Just a guess. Nice demo. Cheers.

That was interesting, I was thinking more gas would have been created but I guess not if more water slows the reaction

Well, I thought that it is written from different perspective. Magnesium-iron heater as a biproduct produces hydrogen. So no use in aircraft. Hydrogen is flamable, but that is another story. In manual you need to fold the bag with food and put it to box/sleeve. In good conditions hydrogen is expanding very fast as it is made and possibly blow up as a bomb.
    Thank you for your rewiew

Something I've been curious about i lightly salt the water... it generally causes a slightly more energetic exothermic
    Reaction slightly warmer food
And no failure to really heat...

I have not, heard your voice in A review in Many Moons. You, Me, and about 2-3 reviewers, are all they were at one time. I quit, regrouped, came back. I am glad you have done the same sir! I have overfilled, underfilled, added salt, and, other tricks. To me , it seems, age not issue, not, amount of water of salt. Either you get A good one, or bad one? Great ones at 10 Yrs. plus old, duds, in only 2 Yrs old? You have run the whole 9 yards, on tests ! More comprehensive than any I have ever seen friend. You came up with good theory, however, were the FRH'S, from same year and lot number? Wonder if situation might have differed slightly. Next time, I find A full case, of MRE'S, I will attempt the same experiment. I remember, you are like me, from Southern state. I forget which. Kentucky here. Remind me where from again? It has been A while, and, I am older, LOL. I forget. Peace, John, Magnum.

MultiMagnum62 I think they were actually from the same case. 2011 is the manufacture year I think, sopaco. I'm in Michigan actually,. I do have some NC floating in my gene pool so that's why I may have a slight southern draw in my voice. Thanks for watching!

You did truck in the South, when reviewed out of rig, I thought friend. That sir, was many moons ago in my time. Thank you for reply! Oh, In chat, I mentioned your name today, hope some newer people start following you. There are many interested these days in our hobby!!! Peace, John, Magnum!

"Yep it's hottest at the bottom where the chemical reaction is happening n coldest at the top where no water is at". Lol jk
