I often feel bad for Luke, no one tells him he'll be the greatest like they do his brother. As it stands his performance to date has been better than Tom's, and I know it's an experience thing, but people shouldn't discount him so readily, he's beaten Shaw before, who's to say it won't happen again.
I would love to see Big Tom take the WSM title. His prep looked to be fantastic. Such a shame Mateuz isn't going to be there. Thanks for the video Loz.

Luke's biggest mic-drop goal? That he and his brother can be 1 and 2 FOR THEIR FATHER. They care more about making their Dad proud than being the strongest in the world. That tells me all I need to know about these guys.
I’ve seen some comments online saying that Tom isn’t ready to beat Brian, but as he rightly pointed out, he competed against Brian twice last year and beat him both times. I would love to see both of them on the podium this year. While some of the events aren’t the best for them, I think having each other there for support will give them that little extra that they’ll need.
Brain the older guy who's a beast and we all know he could pull it off tom a young man gaining more and more experience and strength most definitely in beast mode and things went well could pull it off dont take ur corner of ur eye off luke either lol. It's not just brain and tom theres a lott of other guys hungry and beasts tooo gonna be a good show
I’m a huge Brian fan and I think he’s going to win. But you would be absolutely stupid to say Tom is not ready to beat Brian.I think it’s going to be a great competition I can’t wait to watch it. For me as a Brian fan it’s just good to know he has not done any TV shows and does not have any lingering injuries coming into the event this year there’s no excuses for him. He’s either going to show up and perform very good and win or everyone’s going to find out if he’s past his prime. Only time will tell. But I won’t be surprised at all if Tom is standing on the top of the podium when it is all said and done
You guy's are a massive help for me and many others who suffer from mental health problems. Loz your content helped me through lockdown while I was doing night's for 5 months straight sat in a gatehouse on my own for 12 hrs a shot. Thank you mate.
Excellent point regarding how the Stoltman brothers will be the only athletes at WSM 2020 with a support system. The athlete who will suffer the most without a support system is Brian Shaw. Brian has people screaming at him during all his training videos, it's obvious that's how he likes to train, and last WSM during the squat event he actually called out for one of his training mates to help him gauge the distance he had to squat. In this matter Tom and Luke have a significant advantage over #1 seed Brian Shaw. Things just got spicy.
They will undoubtedly have the best support system as they're so close but Brian is almost universally liked. Zero chance Terry Hollands, Robert Oberst, Nick Best, and to some degree Eddie Hall won't support their friend Brian.

@@k3rrfit not necessarily. There have been tons of NFL brothers who played in the NFL some where line men that have to be very strong. Many strongmen were football players who weren’t good enough to make the NFL. No way to know for sure though because they didn’t compete in strength competitions.

@@wheybig2972 i get your point and you are probably right. However I bet a lot of top NFL linemen could become strongmen if they wanted too and compete at this high level. You have to remember that strongmen don’t get paid much at all compared to football players. A lot were football players before they got into strongman but weren’t quite good enough to go pro. I’m not saying for sure there were stronger ones... I’m just saying it’s a possibility.

I almost didn't follow their channel but they make it so much fun. I'm so glad that I've found strongman as a sport to follow. It's done wonders for me both physically and mentally
Coming from a Brian Shaw fan. It is weird of people to already declare Shaw will have an easy win, and moreover excluding out stoltman bros out of podium finish is ridiculous. JF, Luke Rich, Graham Hicks, Brian Shaw, and these two. It is still going to be alot of fun this year.
Don't rule out Adam Bishop. He could win an event with the 18 inch pull, looking better on log, great stone lifter and very technical even on his weak events, I think if he makes the final he'll perform well. Evan Singleton too, big dark horse who will surprise people. I guarantee it. Novikov too. We might see some surprises this year, wont be as clear cut as people think.
But the problem is that Hicks is not good on the heats events, he could not even qualify with the medley and truck pull, although he is good at stones to guarantee second place. Also Hicks and the Stoltmans are always bottom 3 on the hold and not very good on keg toss, two bad events at the finals. They could have been improving a lot in quarentine, but with out shows to see them in action it is hard to say

Reminds me of my year living in Scotland, training for strongman. Sometimes we drove up to Markinch on weekends to train and meet other crazies there. Is that still a thing? Met Jamie Barr there, too, really cool guy, I was starstruck after seeing him compete at WSM earlier. He also refereed a novice comp I did there. Good times.

As an American I’ve always been a bit of a Shaw fanboy but going into WSM, I think it’s anybody’s game. Regardless of hype, it all comes down to who performs day of. I can’t wait to watch the competition this year.
Big Loz, another great interview and wonderful that it’s with two talented guys from these shores. For all the myriad of circumstances that have affected this years WSM and that you have highlighted here and on other vlogs. We have a comp, that’s wide open. A lot of people might be saying Big Brian to win. But has anyone thought that this could rather put pressure on him, because what would people say if he lost without the likes of Licis, Thor etc. It would be amazing to see Brits in the top three spots, and when you have the the Stolmans, Hicksy, Bish and Luke Richardson. Who knows. But don’t write off JF Caron. Arguably the most consistent strongman never to win the title. Anyway, I’m getting excited just thinking about the possibilities lol. I think this is Lukes first year of total training not having to go on the rigs he's been home the entire time which can only enhance his chances to podium and he has got a great shot and Tom is well Tom the giant for god sake. I love how everyone is just kind of spreading pressure on Brian. Like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. All this pressure I noticed made Brian shave his beard into a new look last night. It's obviously ON!
Nobody will be watching the event. Brian has been the favorite in the past and done well. Brian will put more pressure on himself than anyone else can. Either he is healthy and in better shape than the past few years or not.
I don't think anyone is just handing Shaw the title. I've been watching both Brian and the Stoltman's training, and Brian's condition is seriously impressive. He had said the past few years he'd been distracted from focusing on competition, and that he'd been focusing this year on preparing. Brian really looks impressive all around. I think there are events at which Tom and Luke will give Brian a run for his money, but there are others that Brian just looked so strong at that he looks quite formidable. If Brian gets his fifth or one of the Stoltmans gets his first, I would be happy. They're all good guys who are a credit to the sport.
One thing I will say about Brian, last year he was filming on the road, his training was very disrupted. I personally don't think Tom is quite ready to take brian just yet... I could be wrong but I'm definitely excited to see what these blokes put out. And I never write off luke, I wanna see a wsm win for him
Brian has way more pressure in my opinion. Things are happening that just are making it easier. Which is more pressure. But as a fan I want to see 5 again. 2 I want to see stoltman boys 1 and 2!!!! Heart of hearts I want Luke 1 then Tom 2 the first time out! Lol

I love how everyone is just kind of spreading pressure on Brian. Like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. All this pressure I noticed made Brian shave his beard into a new look last night. It's obviously ON!
Nobody will be watching the event. Brian has been the favorite in the past and done well. Brian will put more pressure on himself than anyone else can. Either he is healthy and in better shape than the past few years or not.

I don't think anyone is just handing Shaw the title. I've been watching both Brian and the Stoltman's training, and Brian's condition is seriously impressive. He had said the past few years he'd been distracted from focusing on competition, and that he'd been focusing this year on preparing. Brian really looks impressive all around. I think there are events at which Tom and Luke will give Brian a run for his money, but there are others that Brian just looked so strong at that he looks quite formidable. If Brian gets his fifth or one of the Stoltmans gets his first, I would be happy. They're all good guys who are a credit to the sport.
One thing I will say about Brian, last year he was filming on the road, his training was very disrupted. I personally don't think Tom is quite ready to take brian just yet... I could be wrong but I'm definitely excited to see what these blokes put out.

Brian has way more pressure in my opinion. Things are happening that just are making it easier. Which is more pressure. But as a fan I want to see 5 again. 2 I want to see stoltman boys 1 and 2!!!! Heart of hearts I want Luke 1 then Tom 2 the first time out! Lol
