      Loz, you are doing too good and mature a job of keeping an overview of the sport with these videos. Be careful. You're too young to be the grandfather figure of strongman already.

    Colin is at 100% all the time! Its great to see so much energy from people that aren't active competitors. Seems like everyone involved in strongman gives everything they have to the sport and I can absolutely see why. These interviews are really cleaver. Even a few of the guests have mentioned that people have a tendency to gravitate towards something they have a personal stake in or attachment to. Getting to know all of these people in strongman and all of the events or competitions that are memorable to them, really solidifies that for a lot of us new folks. I can't say I've ever cared much for many sports in the past especially as a spectator. But, god damn I'm hooked! I've watched 40+ hours of strong man videos in the past few weeks. Can't wait to see who you have on next!

    I've heard both positive and negative stories about Colin Bryce but I gotta say, after watching that behind the scenes video with the whole Viking Press controversy I came away with respect for Bryce he clearly told the Strong Men what was allowed and what was not regarding double dipping and he stuck to his decision and IMO he made the right call plus he's been promoting Strongman for many year's is a former athlete and Strongman another great interview Loz!

    Excellent interview with Colin there. He’s done abit of everything in terms of Strongman, so it was great to hear all his stories and tales. I like the whole style of the video too, it wasn’t like a formal interview where your reading questions off a script, but more like two mates having a good old chat and abit of banter👍🏻

    One thing that was always nice was when there was a history of the events videos between events, but listening to banter between Colin, Kaz and Neil always brightens up the show. Even though they are long shows they dont feel it and have always been enjoyable! I even made it onto bicep cam once too. Keep up the great content Loz and i hope you fit in the rides soon.

    The shows he has put on and his part in progression of strongman sport have been excellent. The only disappointing thing was we filled out a an online form after attending a Giant's live show where we stated overall it was excellent but we would recommend assessing a couple parts, one been the music played over the 3/4 hours which did not match/resonate with the audience age/dynamic at all and we got a fairly defensive email back. Constructive, friendly criticism not welcome.. Releasing that doc throwing the star of your sport Thor under the bus was the most awful business move ever just for personal reasons because someone had a go at you as a ref. The saying 'you destroy the thing you love' rings so true..

It was a legitimate defence to an illegitimate criticism and actually, having watched it I have a greater respect for the referees and the rules, because I didn't understand the debate so thought there was some substance to it. I can understand the ref's side now and totally agree with them and Eddie Hall.

    I've been to a few snooker events where the in-ear commentating really added a lot of value, particularly between frames etc. And it's a great bit of extra stuff to spend money on - I think the earpiece was £10 and you can re-use it for future events, just bring it along and tune in. Loz has a really good voice for that type of thing (as it needs to be a soft, clear voice to be clear without piercing your eardrum). And it's just one of those things that might encourage someone to go to another event... "I can use the earpiece I spent £10 on last time". Good idea.

  • @AJPMUSIC_OFFICIAL
    @AJPMUSIC_OFFICIAL 4 года назад +3

    In ear at strongman with Loz would be a great idea. Similar to the ref mic you can get at international rugby matches. When I watch fights I prefer to have the commentary off and listen to what my friends who are pro fighters say because its often a lot more insightful and interesting than generic colour commentary.
    Reasons you'd be good at this:
    Student of strongman, very familiar with events and history so plenty of knowledge bombs.
    Former competitor, so can highlight what athletes needs to do and things to look for technically. Can also discuss why people might save reps for later etc. the deeper side that we don't always get insight into.
    You know the strongmen so can probably talk about them more in depth and have interesting anecdotes. Also you'll get the names right.
    Very calm and collected individual you can remain objective. Kaz sometimes goes crazy at live events and says insane things (No disrespect, Kaz is the man, and I wouldn't dare say it to his face.)
    Would be good for self promotion too, such good content lately, would be a step to being the Joe Rogan of strongman!

    Great point Loz about WSM deserving a greater selection of events in finals to decide a winner. As the stakes get higher and the equipment becomes more standardised, it makes total sense. I think only Strongman and CrossFit (Games) utilise such variety in programming events to find the top competitors.
    I think the main barrier is simply the format of televising such an event into a relatively short programme. It needs to go online (ideally live streamed), at a regular international venue.
    Fantastic content on this interview. Great to listen to the different perspectives. 👍

      @AA-ps4zp 4 года назад +3

      I agree. I don't think Colin's point about Olympic lifting and Powerlifting really made sense. Both sports come competition use the only events in the sport. Whereas Strongman has countless events. I understand budgets and timing but it really is true. More events are needed.

    Sounds like Mateusz at the ASC this year. Won 4 out of 5 and still lost to Thor because he has one "bad" event.

    • @baby_jade94
      @baby_jade94 4 года назад +5

      He won 4 events. Thor won 2 but Thor also came 2nd in two events Mateusz won. I feel bad for Mateusz but i don't really get the argument. Thor got top 3 in 5 events then 4th in another. He was always at the top, he deserved his win. When Mateusz sorts his deadlift so he can place mid table he'll win no doubt.

    • @meginna8354
      @meginna8354 4 года назад

      That's because the events favored Mateusz combined with Thor knowing he could play safe and fumbled a little. Thor went first on the new stone event, so he went careful and Mateusz could watch what worked and do it faster, Thor also could have gone for the co-win in the dumbell but wanted to go for a new world record instead.

    I met John Paul a few times great friendly bloke. I was bouncing at some dive of a nightclub, Big que outside John Paul rocks up everyone stops to look at someone who looked like Thor. He ran up the 10 steps to the door when he got to the top I pretended to push him back down the steps he pretended to stumble down then chase me into the club i ran away it was a good laugh though. He always asked how my family was.
