Agreed. I like the more aggressive look of the 2020 better. But I’m not going to lie, I LOVE how comfortable the fairings on the 2022 are. They seem to like perfectly fit/hug my leg geometry. I hope someone makes replacements panels that have an aggressive look with the same ergonomics.

The only reason I am considering a Grom is that it is the only motorbike low enough for me. It’s crazy that motorcycles have over the years become a lot taller. It seems to me that the female market has been totally ignored in these modern times

You can probably pick up a replacement 2022 motor and swap it out to get the extra gear on your 2020 model 🤷♂️ I’ve seen one on eBay that came out of a bike that was rear ended but the motor was perfect. Something like $850? Could be worth getting the performance upgrade without having to do a full bike upgrade. And you’ll probably lose almost that much on your 2020 bike value just trying to sell it.
Just got one of these as 2023 in black for $3000 new, out the door, and coming from my 2005 cbr600 I just ride this bike for 3 hours and didn’t realize it had a indicator.

2020 looks WAY better. Looks more like a sports bike! Plus I don't like the holes on the body panels on the 2023. Looks like someone shot up the bike 😅
No way that 5th gear adds 20 mpg. Total bull shit right there. A four speed Grom with stock sprockets can't even pull redline. Trying to sell 2022 Groms for $5k good luck with that rip off.
Rode the OG Grom when it was introduced. Sucked. Front suspension was mush. Bought a Z125. A true mini motorcycle with way better handling. Put 7500 miles on it. My bud had the 2nd gen Grom. Same suck ass crap suspension. Just got a ‘23 Grom. This suspension doesn’t suck like all the previous.
2022 has problems with the transmission I have 1 with only 300 miles and still breaking it in and transmission is making noise honda dealer won't do anything about it
From what ive read, the final gear on both bikes is almost exactly the same ratio, so the 5 speed allows you more rev flexibility in the middle, but no more top speed
The 2022 Grom is ugly as f**k (IMHO). Also, the Honda website states that the 22 model gets 166 mpg. If that is realistically true, then it's even better than what this gentleman is stating in this video.

I prefer the styling of the 2nd generation grom but everything else from the 3rd generation.

I have a fz1000, I’m probably about to buy a grom for a 2nd bike to do trail riding with my friends on
I'd be looking at a 2nd hand, crf250l or drz400 for trail... if your used to a bigger bike, the novelty will wear off quickly with the grom.....

The 22 looks like a scooter a little bigger Navi they ruined the looks
Gear spread is why the newer one seems faster its probably not faster in a drag race

They can't figure out the problem and said not enough complaints to open a recall on it yet said ride it till it breaks

Rear sprocket has a chain guard that vibrates and amplifies the chain noise so you can remove it and that solves the issue
I dont know why that small bike is expensive. Its engine is the same as the ones honda used in most of its 125 cc underbone bikes here in asia
Are the gear ratios the same I bet there different that way it fills like more power. Gears are cheap and so is the seat.
