- Shadow of the Erdtree added a lot of new items, bosses and secrets.
Among those is an Ash of War that makes poison extremely viable and fun to play - all because of a single hidden sentence in the Items description. That and more extremely helpful mechanics for the DLC await thee (sorry for cringe)

Correction: yes, going past blessing 12 is still worth it. But 12 is a good point to slow down on grinding for fragments.

@@kingdavedaily1105 Nah I would say 1 month is a good time frame. 2 weeks is like nothing if you have a job/kids, or worse, both, and basically have a small timeframe over the weekend to play. Considering this DLC is around 15hrs for the uninitiated.
Actually, pest threads and pest threads spear is the best for the furnace golem. You can aim at the leg opposite of you and shoot through the leg in front of you, effectively doubling the amount of hits and stagger. It takes me less than 1min to kill them with either of those.
@IntertwiningRoses Yeah this is a killer way to stagger them. And Ancient Dragon Lightning Strike virtually insta-staggers the non-armored ones, especially if you have Mimic Tear do it with you. They literally can't even move once you're both able to get it off

1:20 I have another tip for furnace golem. Raptor of the mist AoW trivializes the golems explosive jump attack. You phase through the initial explosion and are in the air to avoid the flame wave.
Stand still, as the golem's legs move above camera summon torrent. You will the whole attack
I simply run away and jump to dodge that AOE. It works consistently.

The Poison Flower Blooms Twice AoW has actually the same effect as the Poison Moth Flight AoW. The only difference between the two is that The Poison Flower Blooms Twice works for both rot and poison instead of only poison, meaning poison was already viable in the base game.

PFBT also works on every weapon, is considered a kick so the shattered stone talisman works and does overall more damage from what I briefly tested

If you rest and stand up while the fire animation is still playing on the bridge it will also kill the respawned enemies, essentially 2xing the rune farm!
You’ll need to rerest after this though cause you’ll get the runes from the respawned enemies but they won’t actually die and you won’t get runes from them again until you rest again.
You actually have to do that, otherwise you're better off farming the bird at Mohg's place. If you do the two-for-one thing consistently, this rune farm is marginally faster than the bird by, I'd say, maybe five thousand runes per minute and it's easier than having to shoot the bird over and over. Of course, if you have the Sacred Relic Sword, the albinauric farm is still way more efficient regardless.
For mages, Shard Spiral is a great spell to use to stagger the furnace golems. It travels some distance and goes through the 1st targeted leg to continue to damage the other leg. Overall it's a great spell to melt the health of larger and slower enemies.
Spiral shard was 100% worth doing the Seline quest. That spells has literal 360 degree tracking, and pierces everything. Even in pvp its forces running or rolling since it is a guaranteed hit without one of the two.
You can drop the hanging pots using margit/mohg shackle, just be near it to trigger it to fall

personally id use blackflame blade over blackflame tornado, as blackflame tornado takes up your ash of war slot which could be used for something else, and blackflame blade is basically just blackflame drawstring grease, you can quickly apply it whenever unlike blackflame tornado where youre gonna need to find a window to use it so you dont get immediately slapped for doing so

If you have a Faith build, Ancient Dragon Lighting Strike is fantastic for the golems. Buff with golden vow and flame protect me so you can facetank their attacks, and just start spamming lightning right under them. They’ll eat every single bolt and take quintuple digit damage even without buffs, you’ll get the stagger PING every other cast and often knock them out of animations
@@LAK_770 this worked for me on the golems without the leg armour. But I wasn’t landing any hits on the ones with leg armour

Not sure if it's been made widely known yet, but another dps increase you can do is inflict yourself with the Lulling Branch before a fight, similar to using Fetid Pots to causing poison on yourself. Once the Sleep status procs, St. Trina's Smile will give a damage boost similar to Lord of Blood's Exultation or Kindred of Rot's Exultation. I could see a prebuff strat that uses all three of those plus Shriek of Sorrow to get at least *some* uptime on a whole bunch of ~20% buffs
important to note the version of sleep that the lulling branch inflicts does not cause any FP loss
Wild that From gave us weaponised narcolepsy.
Don't forget the madness talisman as well

The biggest one for me was learning that the furnace golems are the erdtree avatars of the DLC, I had no idea the DLC even added any physic tears until literally like 85% of the way through.
When I first played this game my dumbass thought that crystal tears were consumable since so many other rare items like exalted flesh and rune arcs are, so I never used the wonderous physic until almost the end of the game because I was afraid I would waste it, the DLC was like my first playthrough all over again

I have to wonder whether the furnace golems were meant to teach and acquaint you to utilize more jumping, it almost feels deliberate that it's one of the first things you can encounter and there are so many of them

I don't jump when dealing with the unarmored Furnace Golems, Vow of the Indomitable is amazing for that. Plus it's SUPER SATIFYING to pull off when they go for that jumping slam, it's basically a nope.mp4 button to not take damage during that attack.

There's actually a ash of war called poison moth flight that is similar to poison flower blooms twice! It doesn't do rot. Instead it does poison exclusively. It's a slash attack but it has a similar detonation mechanic. The two are both boosted by the same talismans so they would go perfectly together. I've been putting together a build using them both for a few days now!

Something that I rarely see people talked about:
You can use Morgot/Mohg binding to unlock spiritsprings in the dlc (no need to find and break the seal) and also can be use to break the hanging pots.
The bindings could also use to reveal hidden path within a large radius.
Nice video, learned a few new tricks, thanks! However I would like to mention that the oil tear has a hefty cooldown where if you are using catch flame inc., only every 3rd attack would get the bonus damage. Additionally, you also take 20% more fire damage under the duration of the tear.
PFBT AoW feels so good to play that I changed my build to a poison-focused build and re-did the whole game including the dlc with it.
My first kill of the final boss made use of PFBT in a pretty perfect way if I do say so myself.
I put it on the Antspur Rapier with a poison infusion. By the time poison procs with lights or heavies, the rot buildup from the AoE will usually be enough to trigger it. So big dmg burst from removing poison and now he’s rotted so you can do it again for more dmg and repeat the cycle.
P.S. you can slip rolling r1s in between some of his combos for keeping the buildup pressure on.
i expected this video to be complete clickbait, but those were actually some really useful tips i havent thought about
Note: The furnace golem bridge rune farm is only marginally faster than farming the bird at Mogh's place, the main appeal being that it's easier. Farming the albinaurics with the Sacred Relic Sword is still way better, so the golem bridge is mostly viable if you're playing through the DLC before beating the base game. Also, you _have_ to rest at the right time so that the fire whirl kills double the enemies every time, since that's the only thing making this method better than the bird.
Finally this ash of war is underrated
Bigger enemies get hit 2 times
It has Super armor
It has tracking
It has Stagger
Its really good

i used the poisoned flower blooms against malenia a couple days ago on dry leaf arts
it was so fucking good
and yes... you CAN poison Malenia
So in my testing for the Flower Blooms twice: using it on a poisoned, badly poisoned, rotten(from weapon), or badly rotten (from spell) enemy remove the all applied poisons and deal 5% of max HP damage.
So its good to get talisman and hat that get attack boost if someone is poisoned nearby and apply / reapply poison with this AoW
What is not good. Using rotten dragon breath or Scarlet Aeonia spells and then remove strong rot from enemy using this AoW.
I'll have to give shriek of sorrow a shot. I usually avoid buffs that work when you're low hp because I feel more okay with taking hits. Like the red feather talisman. But it seems like a good buff regardless.
Also cursing us with the knowledge of Pog imp is unforgivable
Fully charged Ancient Dragon lightning strike with the full death Knight armor set and the dragon cult seal lets you insta-stagger furnace golems and can lock them down if you time it right (lil more complex than the ones shown in the vid but if you're lightning-pilled this works well)
I appreciate you hiding spoilers. Most news outlets or content creators I get recommended don't seem to do that anymore because they act like everyone has already beaten the DLC. I already know about who the final boss is and some other stuff.

That's really cool that the rot ash works like moth flight but beefier. Hopefully now more people will get use out of them, it'd be silly to not use them if you're running a poison build

I loved fighting the furnace golems, once I leaned how. Went around the map and enjoyed every second. I love every damn atom of these games lol, one of the best gifts the universe has bestowed during my brief time here

Anything that rains damage down from the sky can “mini” stagger the furnace golems. My favorite is Ancient Dragons’ Lightning Strike cause it gives you multiple chances to hit the sweet spot and get a stagger.
Shard Spiral is the cheese for furnace golems. I used it to kill every unarmored golems, and each fight took like a minute or less to kill.
The best thing about PFBT is that it is really fun to use!
I shall use this on my Poison Great Mace ❤️🔥 the big damage in conjunction with the Kindred talisman will allow a big smack.
Spear Pest threads can Proc 2 stuns back to back if you get both legs in one cast.

Where does the ghost flame weapon art come from in the dlc? My mind is blown at the thought of slapping that on something
for the furnace guys the spiral glintstone sorcery is the best period. fast casting tons of little hits i could stagger and restagger before even one move from the furnace golem

what did you do to make your game colors this vibrant and good looking ?
1. Iris of Grace IS important. If you give it to Jolan you will get her spirit ashes, which you can take to Rabbaths Rise to upgrade it, making it one of the most powerful ashes in the game.
2. ALL golems, except from the very first one, can be fully done with new hefty pots strat. They all have highground nearby you can access, sooner or later. No need to fight them the long way.
3. Albinurics farm is still more efficient.
On the farm, while kinda true, if you go to the DLC without beating EB, it is the next best one.
Is the duo ash really that strong? I've tested them on the 3 soldiers at the south entrance of the camp infront of Shadow keep (2 footman and a stronger one) and they couldn't even beat them, while mimic for example didn't have many problems with them.
4:01 Yeah uh.....you might as well get them all, since having the boost is better than not having it.
I swear I literally thought of the trick where I brought that sleeping Golem down and tried to throw the big furnace pot into its head but it didn't seem to work. So I went back to hitting the face. Seeing it mentioned here confuses me. Maybe I did something wrong. I'll try it again one day.

Spiral shard drops golems very fast along with any other big enemy. It hits numerous times and goes through things. You know you can cast on torrent if you double hand your catalyst. Making drive bys possible. Dragon fights and golems easier as a caster.
I used the Sword Lance and the mimic against the Golems and it destroys them, also i believe the Sword Lance deals bonus damage on horseback but i'm not sure
