At the 8:00 minute point of your video I witnessed a proud Dad moment, You and Heather are parenting the way parenting should be everywhere. As a proud father of 7 sons myself I have enjoyed being a subscriber to your channel for sometime now and will continue to be for quite some time to come im sure. Best regards as always from Lloyd.
I was so proud of him and he handled that shot like a boss. He worked so hard for it too this season, hunting every day with my only to come up empty...until then. we have a part two coming. I just have to put it together.
@@HowtoAlaska I'll be looking forward to when you put the rest of the up , All of my boys are adults now but watching your videos brings back so many memories of wonderful times spent with them when they were younger , Thanks for that.
wow! that kid has some skill with that rifle! I was like NO WAY IS HE GOING TO HIT IT standing up, heavy breathing, adrenalin is pounding, arms shaking, and he still managed to hit the animal.
Cool hunt!! Your little girl is like why can't we go down and shoot em? Funny she's all for it.. That's awesome. . Pretty cool 😎. Pretty cool adventure you folks are in.. see you soon 🤠
Make some simple shooting sticks for the boys. They'll shoot farther, get on target faster and much more consistent. It Looks like sitting or kneeling height would be ideal for your application. I love them when sitting down in brush while predator hunting. Make a set and have the boys try them out.
Yes, I agree. At that age it's tough shooting offhand with no support at any distance. Harris bipods may be a little bit easier to work and manipulate. They cost around $100 but that could be another option since they have so many different options in height. Arm strength will increase fast at their age but hunting seasons seem to go by faster every year and there's only "so many" seasons the human body can endure . I know my long days chasing bull elk in the mountains with my bow are numbered so we all must make the best of each and every year. Keep hittin the hills and make it happen. Don't forget to take way too many pictures every day you're out. Hunting memories are my favorite! Best of luck to you all! I hope to see more videos soon! Congrats little brother!
When you are hunting caribou shoot them in the neck, when you shoot them in the body thats what we call in when we get it in the heart or lung because to us up here in Northern Alaska thats a bad shot becasue there is ogaaq an inupiaq/eskimo word for blood from a shot and that meat taste bad so shoot them in the neck you have more meat to eat that tastes amazing
My channel is apolitical, I asked you a question why we should dump trump on a comment that had nothing to do with my video. Is that so threatening? No wonder there is talk of secret Trump voters. It’s sad that our countrymen treat each other this way. I wish you the best, but feel it’s your loss.
@@HowtoAlaska I AM Not a secret voter. You say you are for tRUMP, Look at hes done to us, Look at his past, Read his history. I'm not for R or D, I think thats what is wrong with America today. People vote for for a person just to the fact that they are a D or a R not that they are a good person or not.
Look, I never said I was voting for trump in the conversation, I just said he has done well for Alaska. Your response to me is the kind of response that creates a secret trump vote. I don’t agree with Trump on some things, but he has done some good things too I don’t like some people’s past but I know people can change and we should hope and pray that they do. Trump’s policies have been very good, his brash rhetoric not so much. It’s good to see other people’s side of things which I try to do. Thus I asked the first question, it makes you a better person. I hope you don’t judge us for our political persuasion but rather our character.

Congrats Luke! My son loved watching this!
That is a very nice big bodied bou. Good job kid. My oldest has a couple more years. We are excited. Very happy for you and your boy.
Great job on raising your kids....hunting, fishing and hard work seems to be going out of fashion!

Keep uploading excited video.
I like this greeting from holland
Nice job luke
love your channel guy.
I live in Alaska with you guys
Perfect shoot.
Nice cow! Congrats to Luke for catching his first 'Bou! What caliber do your boys shoot?
They shoot a 243... it’s a phenomenal gun for starting out. My wife has killed 2 moose with it. It shoots flat and fast and doesn’t hardly kick.
@@HowtoAlaska Awesome! I use a .243 myself and have killed dozens of caribou with it. It’s a great round.
Congrats!!! Luke what caliber rifle were you using
243
Good job.
Bro like 🤭 behind he’s dad 😂😂

They have to get used to them... the shooting stick takes time and the hunt there doesn’t give you much time

I dropped my first deer at 10 this is really cool to have an experience like this
So hey guys it’s legal to hunt karbos 🦌 at there ?
Yes, hunting is a way of life in Alaska, but there are rules for hunting.
Never had caribou does it taste like Elk?
It definitely has its own flavor, but when it is mild tasting it’s close to elk
What caliber do your boys use?
243
Nice!!!!
is that an actual gun or a air gun?
Air guns are actual guns, but this was a 243 rifle.
@@HowtoAlaska ohh ok thanks for letting me know, anyways keep up the good work
9 minutes. Every one hiking Hogan's Hill to the lake off the pull off are going through private property😞
We are careful to stay on federal land... we passed on more animals than made the video

Alaska Get out and VOTE and DUMP THE TRUMP!!!!!!!!!!!
Why dump Trump? He’s been good for Alaska

So awesome! Congrats Luke!
Would be nicer just to watch them in the wild rather than kill them, don't you think?
Yes it would, but you can’t eat them by watching them.
