If UAD is going to keep doing these smaller incremental updates, like Apple does, they could at least give us a trade in program as well to help take the edge off these crazy prices. Love our UAD stuff but it’s pretty clear that it’s all about selling the plugs now, especially the native stuff.
Currently use a Volt 1 and just ordered my Apollo Twin Quad. Heard a lot of people not to get one but to be honest. I feel any interface would be a upgrade so I pulled the trigger today and can't wait for it.
I have the first Gen Silver Apollo 8 & 16, they have been workhorses that have never let me down. They were a game changer when I first got them and continue to do Justice on all my recordings🔥💯
I just got an X6. It was delivered the day before the announcement. So I am happy that you are doing a comparision with Gen 2. It sounds like minor tweaks rather than a huge overhaul, and I am good with that. For the giveaway, I would like to see a mic as the prize.
Yes I definitely would like to try it looks like they upgraded the DSP chips since the heritage ones and you get a Christmas sound plus you get the sound software to build your room sound better all in all I think it's a great upgrade my try for 2025
I’m using a Apollo X8, twin X, satellite oCTO and to me this is a hell of a workforce, wouldn’t upgrade to the new generation for a very long time for those they have a Apollo X8 2014 version don’t forget that you’re able to upgrade your sound card to thunderbolt three and then you will have faster communication within your computer and your interface
Awesome I been to France once when I was young and all I remember is that it was beautiful! Love using the Apollo interfaces but just make sure your computer has thunderbolt capabilities! Thanks for watching!

@@30killabeatz Nice review! I got DT 900 Pro X + Audient ID4 MKII, pretty comfortable with this setup when mixing/mastering and recording my rap vocals, but I want higher level sound and want to upgrade the whole setup. Planning to get DT 1990 Pro X MKII and sell my DT 900. Could u recommend to get Apollo Twin X interface for 1990 MKII or my Audient would be enough to feel and hear all the potential of 1990 MKII? Should I look towards Apollo Gen2 or Apollo Twin Gen1 would be pretty good for level up after Audient sound? What about Apollo Solo, does it have the same headphones amps, mic preamps and overall hardware quality as Twin X model? What about UAD plugins, Twin X & Solo got the same abilities and features when using UAD plugins?

Dope video gang! was waiting on your perspective. I feel like the upgrade in D/A could be worth it, I gotta hear it though. I think there was a slight improvement to the A/D because the preamps have a lower THD+N. The problem is the old Apollos don't really hold the value it should. I probably could sell my X6 for like 1500 the most. If that even. Then I need an extra stack to get the new one. Is 1k worth it for a slight upgrade in sound? I guess it depends.
That’s what I’m saying. If you was already in the market for one. It might make since to get the new one but felt they should have improved it a bit more if they really wanted existing users to upgrade.
for thunderbolt on windows you can just add a pcie x4 extension card with thunderbolt output :) just check if your chipset will manage, for amd you'll need B or X chipset. for intel its Z. extension card csn be around 70-100$
I’m updating because it’s time to get something for my spaces. But I have all the plugins so imma stay on the ecosystem but I want the D/A because I use outboard. I already sold my old 8xp and got two of the new x16 and a x4. I don’t need more cores now that I’m going to Native. Also they can’t add auto gain to the old units because it happens on the hardware
That’s dope! Glad this is able to work for you! I have outboard gear but the only reason I would be upgrading is to stay ahead of the curve but I’m in no rush! And dang i honestly like setting my gain manually but this would have been nice for others.
I use a RME UFX II but need more analog IO (at least 16 more) so I am on the fence wether I should switch over to UA with the X8 and X16 or selling the UFX II and buying the UFX III + M-1620 Converter. I love the more neutral sound of RME but I am not a big fan of Total Mix. Console seems to be more logical to me but also not that flexible and nothing beats the driver stability of RME.

I’m gonna pass on this one. Maybe if they had a trade in program like Apple ID think about it. Also they should have dumped the shark chips and just lowered the price.
I just switched over to a Focusrite Red 16 Line. I had the X8 Gen 1 and to my ears the Focusrite Red is much better. You can hear the reverb tails better and the mids are cleaner. It’s an older thunderbolt 3 interface but it stands above the UAD. Don’t get me wrong. UAD are very reliable but all the really do is change the look of their interfaces. The new ones apparently have improved DA but if you are looping hardware then it will still sound the same. Because they never changed the AD. All it really is, is a software update which several people will think is the same as a hardware upgrade. You’ve got to give it to UAD. They could sell sand to the Arabs and charge a lot for it 😂
