This is one of the most well themed coasters outside of Disney. I love all the little elements they kept from the old Flooded Mine. Good going DollyWood. Keepin it classy.
Probably because it was built in such a small area and the brakes and lifts allow for more cars on the track at one time (I believe that's right). I like it how it is though. It's not meant to be an ultimate thrill machine that has 20 flips and goes 100mph, but a fun ride that all can enjoy and get a kick of. It's unique.
TRUST ME, I've been on that ride. And you will love it. It has everything, and I've never had a vertical climb and vertical drop on a rollercoaster, with a corkscrew and loop added... Not kidding. I've been on crazy rollercoasters too! xD But Mystery Mine is my favorite ride in Dolly Wood. It has it all from the loops to vertical drop and climbs, AND DARKNESS WHICH I DONT LIKE AT ALL, but liked in that one :) I guess you just gotta ride it in real life to know how epic it actually is. Lol

It’s crazy that they’ve changed part of the track. Now when you first go on the outside part you don’t have that piece of track that goes straight down for a second. You just do turns until you go back in for the fire drop

Thanks for putting this up guys. I just got back from Dollywood and was unable to ride as we didn't get to that section of the park till late in the day. I was really looking forward to seeing some of the effects on this ride, but by the time we reached it, my ride tolerance was not doing well. Thunderhead seems to take a lot out of people! Thank you!

this ride wasn't functioning properly when I visit dollywood so that's why they had to close it down for a while, but this ride always scared me, I never got on it
I remember riding this with my friend in April 2014. And she was saying If i die on this ride, speak now or forever hold your piece. I said shelby, calm down. And i remember going down that drop after that fire event. I was so scared! But at the end, me and my friend enjoyed the ride. Lol
Dude. I can promise you this roller coaster is fucking AMAZING. I road it dozens of times with my two friends last summer, the one that was terrified of roller coasters even came to love it! My mother loves it, and god knows she hates roller coasters as well!
I always wanted to go to Dollywood, infact, Dollywood is on my bucketlist. It would be a great vacation, topped off with meeting Dollywood's queen, Dolly Parton.
It doesn't matter what age you are. Just enjoy the dang ride. And it's fun, not scary. I was nervous when I first rode it but it turned out to be my favorite ride there!

Yesterday I went to Dollywood and was kind of disappointed with the condition of this ride, I've rode this for years each year I come, last year they took apart a big sideways piece of track, this year they took away the fire that shoots up before you drop, the flame has continued to get smaller over the years but now there's only LED lights to make up for it, also, the track is extremely rough and rusty. I would love if Dollywood would improve the Mystery Mine and make my favorite coaster just the way I love and remember it.

i had a worker at T-Head Tell me its Inspected Every Day Woodies every board Is Checked and The track Is walked around

I think Mystery Mine has one of the best finishes of any roller coaster--love that last little "flip" into the station.

I've been around 5 times in a childhood. It's the greatest place to take a vacation. The atmosphere and just the feeling is so warming.
