the first time i heard nude the intro instantly struck me as powerfully beautiful, but mysteriously so. when it cuts away you're left suspended in tension for the resolve. finally hearing it in reverse at the end blew my MIND. one of my favorite music listening memories
This song is so underrated, Reckoner is good but i think Nude deserves more appreciation, the best song in the whole album in my opinion and also because this song is so personal to me.
@@Cristalskulle well it's not that underrated but most of the time people talk about "How To Disappear Completely", "Let Down" or "True Love Waits". They are really good songs but i think people leave "Nude" behind or other songs like "Just", "Everything In It's Right Place", "Blow Out", etc.
this is so true its such a calming song it makes me think of melatonin from paranoid android and they both my faves in the album nude should be more popular
was talking about this observation with another Radiohead listening friend of mine a couple of days back, kind of felt like creating something similar to this video but now no need for that! this is beautifully made!
My ex girlfriend really loved Radiohead and we always said we'd dance to this song, broke up before we got the chance sadly, they still remind me of her
I first heard this in like 2008 (right around when it came out) and not only did I hear that intro as a backwards vocal line, I waited for the upshot, for it to be done in forward motion, and it was very satisfying when it happened. This is not, like, a “big brain” moment, this is knowing what a Chekhovs gun is, that something needs to pay off if you’re gonna introduce something so prominently as that backwards recording.
Always wondered where the reversed bit came from. Suspected it was just from another take or some other point in the song. Cool to see someone pin down exactly what part it was
This is a video on Radiohead, which starts with a quote from the masterpiece that is Synecdoche, New York. Instant subscribe, you immediately got my respect.
I knew it, I had the feeling of a reversing sound when I listen to the intro.. now knowing that it's the ending's in reversed, I feel more soothing listening to the song
In Pink Floyd’s “the wall” the very last thing you hear before the album ends is someone saying “isn’t this where…” and the very first thing you hear at the beginning is the same voice saying, “…we came in?” So if you played it on a loop, as the album started over, it would say, “isn’t this where we came in?”.
It’s insane how theres always something new to dissect when it comes to Radiohead’s music, almost 16 years later. Just timeless.
this is crazy to me since in rainbows came out the day I was born.
16 years OMG
How on EARTH did I not already know this? It's so obvious!
Just wait there’s more
no wonder it took them 10 years to make this song, it's such a masterpiece
and seems like a demo is just the first piece to a song
Probably my favourite Radiohead song
Mine too!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it
Sigur Ros have done similar things in their album Agaetis Byrjun, I'm sure that Nude and Radiohead fan will love that as well:)
I love me some Sigur Ros too! They're one of those bands that is always there for you, when you need them most, hey.
this broke me

This blew my mind! It seems so obvious now! How did I not hear it??? This revelation makes the song even more beautiful! Thank you 😊
I'm always down for more Radiohead appreciation :)
this song is just so beautiful

No other state makes me happier than nude

Radiohead's music is so special people don't even notice when it's played in reverse
This is reaaaal nice work!! Simply a masterpiece
Idk why am so excited about this when I found out they used the reverse version of their outro but this proves more of how creative this band is xD

I always knew that there was something special with the intro, i'm amazed and in love with radiohead once again
This is the radiohead tune that resonated with me the most, and I've learnt something new at 1 in the morning. Cheers!
I love the reaction I get when I show this to people, especially people who love the song- it just adds more to it's magnificence, somehow!

The aesthetics of this video are so pretty. And it's informative as well. Thank you for this
i have been blasting this on repeat and never even noticed until now … and yeah of course I’m there which gives it that extra omg
As soon as I saw the title, I realised that I'd known there was backwards music without "realising" it all along
I did notice the song had a backwards effect on some of the drums/percussion, but THAT is really something.
I always had in my head that the outro is Thom singing the word 'Nude' in various melodic ways
Always wondered where the reversed bit came from. Suspected it was just from another take or some other point in the song. Cool to see someone pin down exactly what part it was
This is truly the most beautiful song from Radiohead. It is majestic.

Nude is one of, if not my favs from in rainbows, and id never noticed this! Such an eerie and beautiful sound though
An ending fitting for the start, LITERALLY
Another fun fact: You could even hear the mild guitar strum in the reversed version of the Intro section.
It's my favorite RH song. Now I love it even more

This just WOW! Literally used to spend so much time trying to figure this kind of effect. Tried so much.

Liked instantly for the Synecdoche, New York quote.
YES!
Probably would never notice it, yet it seems really obvious now. Insane
This video is what helped me pull the trigger and finally give Radiohead a shot and holy fuck

The more I know about Nude, the more perfect it gets
Holy shit
genius, never realized this
i always loved the intro but never noticed this
geniuses - all of them.
Reminds me of "I'm Only Sleeping" ❤️
Rain does something similar - uses reversed vocals from the middle of the song in the outro.
I have never heard Rain. Are they alt rock?

i knew the intro was reversed but didnt know it was the same audio as the ending, so interesting!
Wow, I listen to this song a million times and never noticed that
In 1974 Robert Wyatt went even further with the track Little Red Riding Hood Hit The Road, which is an almost complete palindrome song.

imagine playing reversed live, insane dudes
I don’t believe they ever played that reversed segment live
They don't play that bit live, they just go straight to the bassline ruclips.net/video/9cBUrIw2sQk/видео.html
If they wanted to they could probably play it with their guitars muted while the loop pedal was recording, then reverse it, then unmute the guitar
the production in this is so good from a small channel, hope you grow
Thank you, I wanted to do the song justice, really :)
it also feels like the harmonies were made louder in the intro
Art in motion, reverse motion.
idk if it was intentional or not but the fact that the video loops perfectly aswell is the cherry on top
