Where's the playlist with the songs?
I love playing Weezer's Blue Album from start to finish. It never gets old and just makes me feel good.
@CaveraDeMonteFamily It does not work for me either
I love absolutely love playing "La Villa Strangiato" by Rush. No, I can't play it well, but with my headphones on nobody will ever know!
Music from Big Bad Voodoo Daddy
Can I just say you look a ton better with hair, Stephen. Thank you.
Thanks Ray
47 years old and Just started learning the drums. 2 weeks in and watching your videos has really helped. Thinking of joining your drum school as your teaching style is great.
New drummer at age 49. You're teaching methods are great, the best I've found for me anyways. Thanks so much!
Same, after 35 years on guitar, figured I'd learn something new, have fun!
@@astralpx same here! I've been a gigging guitar player for years. Discovered the groove with bass and loved it. Drums is like the feeling of the bass groove on steroids.
We all have to start somewhere! Appreciate it Stephen
Steve, I have been watching you from the day you started on you tube. I used a lot of your teachings in my drum studio. I just stumbled on your interview with Ronnie Tutt April 11, 2013. That had to be an honor sitting down with him.
Massive honor. Ronnie is such a kind man and a legend of a drummer
This lesson is awesome! Thank you for sharing!
16 years old, i don’t have a kit but i’ve been wanting to play since i was little, this is so great for me thanks so much!!
hey man you should totally see if you schools music program has a set you can practice on after school, that’s what i did until i got my own
@@firishes420 all i’ve got is a piano class which i’m doing this semester! not drums but it’ll get me something familiar to an instrument i guess
Stephen, thank you for your videos. I’ve shared them with my drum students and they have loved them! I was wondering if you ever do recitals for your drum students and how you do them? I teach guitar and piano also and struggling with how to make my drumset students be part of my recitals without blowing up everyone’s ears and also play on their own. My first idea is to have a small set and have them play to a backing tracks. Would love your feedback!
Thanks this was great!
Thanks Stephen for all the great videos and the awesome way you present them! For anyone interested, Carmens last name is pronounced "A-Piece". At least that is how he introduced himself on a video I watched! But don't feel bad. I pronounced it "A-pe-che" for years until I heard him say his last name!
If you watch this channel for any period of time, you will hear me mispronounce every drummers name lol. Unfortunately it's kind of my thing...unintentionally...
hello thanks for the video im thinking about starting the drums and trying some good beats
Thank you Stephen!
You bet!
Guitar player here for 30 + years, drums have always intimidated me and all i was doing, like everybody else does the first time, was making noise. The last time i touched a drum set was more than 17 years ago, today was the day that i said, screw this, i'm getting a set and get at it. I am proud to say that at the age of 46, i am finally taming the drums, one session at the time. I need to remember; before running, i must learn to walk and before walking, i must learn to crawl. Thank you Stephen for the tips and advices, you got a new subcriber!!
32 here, you're never too old or young to start!
@Melanie G Age is just an excuse. As i said, i've always been intimidated by the instrument. So in the past i always shy away from it. Now i am at this point in life that i don't care anymore of what people say and think of my playing, same goes with guitars which remains my main instrument
Where did you buy your drums set
Today i had my first Drum class, i just learned Clint eastwood and Like a stone, obviously not perfect but kinda decent
What IEM's do you use?
Alclair
I have a music festibal next week and i will play drum and i need to learn to play drum but its really hard and i still cant understand bc am just nine am hoping i can understand???
How did the festibal go
Also checkout the beats of East LA classic by WAR.
What are these prototypes?
K sweet brilliant finish crash, cluster hihats, and a cluster 22" crash

@@StephenTaylorDrums Cool, thanks!!
I wish I would have learned linear patterns first instead of the old 1/8 notes on the H.H.

It's funny I don't get it whenever you do the slow part showing each individual part... Yet I can tell what I need to play when you play it in real time. My ADHD brain gets confused on all the numbers yet I can hear the time signatures in my head no problem...
I love how we all learn in different ways
@@StephenTaylorDrums I'm also left-handed, but learned how to play on a right handed setup kit. I thought about trying to flip my kit around to lefty and see what I could do, but it would probably be like me trying to ride a bicycle backwards.
