We get introduced to new characters at such breakneck pace in an incredibly organic way. I've always been awed by the writing of sam and max, but i only just have come to appreciate how truly distinct each and every episode is. The dialogue is on a league of it own in any media ever, but so many aspects of the worldbuilding is done impeccably

Usually the restrictions of children's programming breed some kind of insane level of cleverness that good writers manipulate to get certain jokes under the censors nose. Basically, the writers play a game with censors to see how many adult-oriented or not so kid-friendly jokes they can slip past them without them noticing or making them angry in the process. And then there's just plain not dirty or suggestive jokes that are actually just downright clever.

I love the anime, the games, and the manga. I’ve gotten all the games at home along with the manga volumes with the anime blu-ray. I am such a weeb. The scene where Makkusu dies while Samu watches makes me extremely depressed. Yet it has some of the most hilarious and dirty scenes of all time, even though the anime had to tone the series down. One of the greatest Japanese franchises of all time.
Jelly Babies? Was that a Doctor Who fourth Doctor reference? Considering the Mad Thespian was dressed in a similar garb I could see the eccentric Doctor wearing in the earlier series.
