THIS STORY:
A still unsolved 1947 case from Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Rita Bouchard was found dead in Slater Park with many slash marks and stab wounds. Her throat was practically cut ear to ear, in similar fashion to the infamous Black Dahlia story in California.
Rita was murdered on the very spot we walk to in the woods - and the tree still shows the hatchet marks from the killer.
THIS CHANNEL:
_________________________________________________________
The Angel face you see is the Haserot, named “The Angel of Death Victorious". The stoic angel is seated on the marble gravestone of canning entrepreneur Francis Haserot and his family. Holding an extinguished torch upside-down, it represents a symbol of life extinguished. Wings are outstretched and the gaze is straight ahead.
IN THE END, DEATH ALWAYS WINS. LEST THE FACES NOT BE FORGOTTEN...
This channel is focused on casually walking and viewing a handful of the thousands of forgotten names and faces at various cemeteries near and afar. Seeing their faces up close. And when able, telling the stories behind their names.
Most graves are unknown and lost to history.
Some are famous.
And some infamous....
....and some with tragic endings.
#graves #cemeteries #death
SPOILER KNOCK DOWN - Some here have commented that those hatchet marks would be much higher as the tree grew over the past 70 years. NOT TRUE. When a tree is mature (that one is up to 200 years old now) the base of the trunk does not change in height. Under the bark is a thin layer of cells that cause the tree to increase in girth, so it does continue to grow "from the bottom," though not in height. As an example, if a rubber band is wrapped around the trunk of a mature tree, the band will not move upward over time: It will stretch outward.
I actually know this from personal experience - I went to the big oak tree in my old neighborhood 2 years ago. It was in the 1960's when we carved steps into the trunk of a certain big oak tree for a treehouse. Today one can still see the scars, over 50 years later now. And they didn't rise up at all.
This is true Ron. Trees grow up from the top. The same cells that cause this also cause limbs to grow longer. There's old trees here that my great grandfather nailed a barbed wired fence on. You can still see pieces of the barbed wire sticking out where the tree grew over it. The wire is still at the same height as the fence was many years ago.
I’m so glad you addressed this issue!
That's fascinating. Thanks for the info.
I would hate to see how tall a tree would be if it grew upwards for 200 years LOL planes and helicopter's would have to go around it
@@missys199 Be like Jack's beanstalk. LOL
All the positive comments are really humbling. Thank you so much everyone, it really means a lot. Most of all thank you Ron for including me on this wonderful journey, it was an honor to hang out with you sir!
Her story needed to be told- thank you so much for helping tell it! 💐RIP Rita
Thank you for bringing Rita into the light
Tommy, you are a cool cat! Thank for the story.
Tommy, such an honor to meet you. That was an interesting but sad story. Hoping to see you again! Thanks
Hats off to you Tommy cat.....I will remember this story forever dude thanks for taking us along
The remaining siblings lost their parents, lost their sister, lost a stable home, then lost each other. That's so sad.
It is a very sad ending to a terribly tragic story
Ron and Tommy thank you for telling Rita’s story. This is the first I’ve heard of this case. So awful. I’m interested in what they’ll find opening this case again. 🌸
So sad this story. Hopefully it will be solved soon. Rest in peace Rita.
Such a sad and horrible way to die, I really hope they find the person who murdered Rita, through DNA evidence to solve this case.
RIP Rita🕊💐
Thanks for sharing this story with us Ron and Tommy the Cat.
As always, you stay safe out there Ron.🙂💟
Thank you Ron and Tommy the Cat, for that tragic story. I hope they do come up with some DNA leads... Please keep us informed. Thoughts and prayers go out to her family. ❤️
It's horrible just to think that she had a bad premonition that day😔...May she Rest in Peace and that her case will be solved🙏
Rest in peace Miss. Bouchard 🌸, The Bouchard Family. Rest in peace everyone. My opinion: the evil that lurks in the hearts of (men & or women) humanity never ceases to amaze me. People can be so heartless. This is a very heartbreaking story. I pray they have DNA & can solve this case as they have solved cases in other States. Stay safe Sir & everyone.
Looking forward to future updates. I hope her family is agreeable to eventually marking her grave. Thank you for sharing Rita's story!
How truly kind of you to offer her a headstone! A pleasure as always to explore and learn with you Ron!!
Rest In Peace Rita!
What a tragic story. Let's pray this case gets solved. Ty for this posting.
Oh poor Rita, thanks to Ron and Tommy the Cat , we can pray that you are resting in Heaven.
You will be remembered by everyone here.
Even if the killer is dead now I hope Rita gets justice with the case being reopened .
I would love to see Rita get a headstone if her remaining family agrees to it.
You are so kind and respectful Ron.
Connie Gross🤗🙏
Her brother and sister should still be alive, maybe...RIP Rita ⚘
I'm just letting you know from an RN and yes true crime nut, but this was taught in school. A slit from the mouth going up like the Joker is known as a Glascows smile, that is what the Black Dahlia had done to her sadly. Being slit ear to ear is usually referring to the neck from one earlobe to the next not upon the face.
Thanks, yeah I’ve heard that.
Yikes!!!!
Glasgow Smile (or Grin).
I have seen it one one person.
No one probably had money for a stone for her.
That’s very likely
👏👏👏Ron and Tommy T C,for your joint presentation, who knows someone’s memory may be revived ,that is if anyone from that time is still with us ,good luck anyway, from ballarat in Oz,👍👋🙏🙏🇦🇺
If she left work early saying "she felt sick" would she leave and go to a theatre? Or head home ? And somewhere between work and home she met her killer 🤔
The killer probably stalked her & knew her place of employment.
It was thought at the time that she was lying about being sick, even her boss thought so.
That's sad and I guess we will never truly know what happened between when she left work and got murdered. What happened to her was vicious and deranged.
Sounds to me the killer worked with her, in order to know she left work early
I grew up in Pawtucket RI (1960 to 1983) and spend a lot of time at Slater Park, great vid Ron.
Thank you for this video, I live just down the street from there and have been wondering exactly where that tree is, now I know.
Hopefully they will come up w something through DNA. There are so many cold cases in RI that they've made a deck of cards w the victims cases on them to help drum up any leads. There is another case of a man killing his 5yo daughter on the same path not far from that location.
Hi Tommy! I guess you don't have a channel about your cat, do you!? 😁
I do have a channel that I haven’t posted on in years, mostly music stuff. No kitties tho
Hi 👋🏽 Tommy the 🐈. Thanks for the story 😢
Hi Bunny
Rip Rita B...such a sad story Ron 😢..thanks Tommy the cat and Ron for showing us where the crime took place and Ron taking us to her grave 🪦....unmarked...Hi Tommy the 🐱🐈⬛.. . Nice to see you here on Ron's video....I hope she is resting in peace.....thanks Ron and safe travels 💕🥾🥾🚗🚗....🪦🪦..I hope the find leads to get the person who killed her....
What a strange and tragic story. I have never heard of this particular one . I truly hope they find a resolution and that she gets her stone .Keep safe ❤Keep Well❤
Excellent story, thank you Ron and Tommy The Cat, very beautiful and eerie place, feel so bad for this poor girl, so horrible and violent. I have been interested in the Black Dahlia forever, over the years I’ve even tried to solve it lol, I have about six or seven books about her and each one has a different person who killed her. I don’t think we’ll ever know. Same with this little girl I hope they can solve her murder, the bad thing is most of the people who were in these crimes are dead by now. 😢😢❤️❤️
Caught the replay. So very interesting. I wonder if she was pregnant and someone thought it was too much trouble. I don't believe that little guy could do it, 72 hours without sleep would cause me to confess. Thanks Ron and Tommy for the story. By the way Ron, love your t-shirts and yours too Tommy.
God bless her and her family. So sad.
Since the marks were there so long ago on the tree, it could be the murderer was hitting the tree with a hatchet to work up their anger or work out their anger...practicing on the tree and they could have planned to have that be the spot where they brought the victim's body. A place they frequented. The murderer probably watched people in the park until they found a potential victim who was alone in solitude and was an easy target. Maybe it wasn't that they focused on Rita but she happened to be alone and they saw an opportunity to kill. That would make solving the crime harder...it could have just been the murderer found someone alone and killed her...and it happened to be Rita.
I pray there is some DNA they can find that isn't hers and match it up through the DNA Matching. Likely the murderer is dead but family members' DNA will likely lead to who the killer was.
Thank you Ron and Tommy for this tragic story! I had heard about the Black Dahlia but never about this case. RIP Rita! I hope they are able to close this case for the family.
Very sad and tragic. I agree. I don't believe the young man killed her. I wonder if there was a cover-up? Could the then police department know more than they revealed and were shielding someone? He would have been an easy scapegoat because of his disabilities. Someone always knows something. If only that tree could talk. Thank you both, Ron and Tommy, for a very interesting but disturbing story. Ooooweee...it gave me the creeps. LOL!
Yes for sure , agree
So grateful to Ron and Tommy the Cat for bringing Rita’s story to the fore once again. Wouldn’t it be serendipity if this video advanced Rita’s case and justice could be served. Thank you, Ron, Tommy the Cat, and Joe. R.I.P. dear Rita. 🕊🙏
Fun to meet Tommy the Cat. 😻😻😻
Thank you Doreen
Pobre Rita, tan joven. Gracias Sr. Ron, sus historias siempre resultan muy interesantes. Por cierto, me encantó su playera! Saludos.
I wouldn't place too much confidence in them solving this crime after 75 years have passed. If the perpetrator was 20ish then they'd be 95 now!
I wonder what happened to Raymond Patenaude?
he can be 125 years old and been dead, who cares....let's solve it!
@@FacesoftheForgotten
Oh I agree about wanting to put a name to her killer.. But my opening remark still holds true; that they're going to find it near impossible to assemble enough evidence, circumstantial or otherwise, to charge anyone after 75 years. They've got the murder weapon and a decent suspect. OK, now what?
Yes leave the rose it could be they can't afford a stone.
Wow, can't wait for an update on this case. May Ms.Rita rest in peace indeed. 🙏
Thanks Ron and Tommy the Cat for doing this tribute for Ms Rita Bouchard. It's a shame that her family would not want her grave marked. Please keep us posted on if The FOTF community provides Ms Rita a stone. Glad to finally get to meet Tommy the Cat. 👍
Thanks man
I would want her hidden if she were my daughter bc they never arrested the guy who slaughtered her and you would feel she was all alone in the cemetery and vulnerable to him digging her up or defacing her grave, that's why in my mother's mind.
Yes, it could have been protective on her mother's part . I'm glad Ron decided he would leave the rose at her gravesite.
The family obviously didn't have much money and buying life insurance on a young person wasn't too common then.. Are the parents buried next to her? After so many decades have passed, it should seem safe to put a flat stone there (most of that section has them anyway) If the parents ARE there, of course there ought to be a stone with space for all the names and dates. What also happens, there may already be a marker (or markers) just under the turf. Too many of that kind of markers get buried without at least yearly clean-up (we have to do this for family members with flat ones.)
Thank you Ron, for your remembrance of those whom passed from this life unto the next. I’m sure that those whom were harmed greatly appreciate what you’re doing for them! And a shout out to “Tommy the Cat” for his reverential commentary!
Thanks, and I like that “reverential commentary” comment
What a sad story. If she was embalmed maybe the could also get DNA from her body🤷🏻♀️. It truly take a community to remember these folks. RIP Rita 🙏🏼🙏🏼and thank you all that contributed.
Hello from Holland, and a big thank you to Ron and Tommy the Cat for the interesting story about Rita!!
Hope she is resting in peace
🙏🏻💔👋🏻
Thank you for the nice comment. I spent New Years 1999 in Amsterdam and wish I could’ve stayed!
@@TommyTheCat42 Right.
A stiletto knife would not make those marks on the tree today, however 80 years ago that tree was much smaller and younger. The wound was surely not as big then as it is today as the tree has attempted to heal itself around the marks.
Ground control to Major Tom , take your protein pills and put your helmet on . Love your shirt
Bless you Rita and all the other victims of unsolved crimes. Thx for telling her story Ron. 🪦🕯
Such a sad story with no closure for the family and friends. I hope the case is sloved eventually!! Thanks for sharing!
This isn't about the video. Your shirt put a smile on my face though. My husband passed away in Feb. His name was Tom and he loved this song and would get excited when it came on. "Ground control to Major Tom" 🙂
Overkill usually means they knew the murderer, emotionally acted murder.
Ok am glad you left to the rose she needs to be remembered. Rita rip you didn't deserve that fate!!!
Thank you to your guest, Tommy and to you for being so generous for offering to pay for Rita's stone. May she rest in peace.
Maybe they didn't have any money.
Hope this case gets resolved!! Thanks Ron and Tommy the Cat for telling us about Rita's story. Never heard it before...RIP Rita!!🥺🙏🏻😪
Hi Ron and Tommy. Thank you for bringing us this tragic tale. R.I.P. Rita. I hope someday they will find who did that to you.
Ron I've always found it so thoughtful and caring of you to leave beautiful yellow roses. God Bless🙏🌹🌼
Nice seeing you Tommy the cat
Thank you Tammy
@@TommyTheCat42 welcome 😁
Thanks again Ron for a tragic story told really well, when you said she had no gravestone was really upsetting, not only did she have to endure something really terrible but then to have no marker it's beggers belief I mean she family. I really hope the police solve this so she an rest peacefully RIP
very interesting story , poor Rita had such a sad life with a very tragic end , hope her case is solved 🙏 thanks Ron and Tommy
Seems like the police took advantage of this kid and the true killer got away with murder
I’m leaning toward this way as well!
Ron and Tommy, thank you for the story. That family suffered so much heartbreak. I am looking forward to hearing more from the current investigation. Thank you again guys.
Thanks Tommy and Thank You Ron. RIP Sweet Rita! 🙏
Hope the truth comes out. r.i.p Rita. Thank you Both for showing another story I never heard before. Have a wonderful Day and Week, plus The gang!❤️🇺🇸
Hello Ron and Tommy the cat it sounds very interesting story thank you sharing this amazing story it so very sad 😥
Hi Ruth my good friend!
Thanks Ron, and to @TommyTheCat for taking us to the location where the murder actually took place. Just adds another layer to an already intriguing story. So very sad. It’s always sad when someone loses their life through the deliberate actions of someone else, but it’s even more poignant when it’s a very young person. Their life is snuffed out before they’ve even had a chance to live. Prayers that her killer is found. Even if they are dead and no charges can be brought, I’m sure the family would still like to know who perpetrated this terrible crime.
They should've been looking for a tattoo of a lady to identify him
I hope her case is solved soon. It's time her family has closure and peace. Rest in peace Rita. Thank you for sharing her story.
A very tragic story, Rest In Peace Rita, ill hope they find him if possible.
Happy to meet you Tommy the cat 🐈 and Rita may justice be found for your murder
Thank you Dawn
A short tragic life...It makes me count my blessings. I worked with children from broken families and I understand. Seventeen and working full time on a swing shift. I hope Rita is resting in peace.
So sorry this happened to you RIP RITA.
Thanks Ron and Tommy the Cat for sharing this story. I've never heard of it before. You guys did a great job!
Hopefully, DNA will lead to the murderer.
6:58 did anyone else hear a woman's voice? Or maybe it was a bug?
Sounded like a tiny mosquito 🦟
Thank you Ron and Tommy the Cat for bringing us Rita's story. Let's hope her family gets the answers they're searching for after all these years.
Thanks for this story, it’s sad to know how people lives have ended in tragedy.
Clinical Moron? I know a few of those ! 🤷🏻♀️
I see a small face in the marks on the tree right in the middle of the hole. Right eye wide open and black, left eye swollen shut, lower & looks cut, then a gash on her cheek and chin. Poor women, so tired of hearing about young women murdered and mutilated by men.
I am not hearing anything that really tells me that Patenaude did it. Can't convict a guy for being weird. Can't say he didn't do it either. I don't believe the hatchet marks have anything to do with the murder.
agree with all.
Thanks Tommy & always, Ron. So sad. Appreciate your hard work.
Thank you for leaving the rose . Maybe they couldn't afford the headstone
It is a strange and sad story. Thanks Ron and Tommy for this story. And stay safe guys. R.I.P Rita Bouchard
I have not seen any updates. Only seen the interview with her son.
Another wonderful, respectful, and tastefully done video. Poor girl RIP.
Tommy the cat I love your Slipknot tattoo. What a very sad story. I hope one day Rita gets justice. Thank you Joe for helping Ron find the grave.
Great job guys! Thank you for what you do! ❤️
everybody should have a headstone that is just my belief
Thank you Ron and Tommy the Cat, for telling this poor lady's story. I hope that something breaks with this crime and someone comes forward with evidence. It's horrible what happened to Rita. I was sad to see there is no marker for her either, hut thank you Ron for leaving her the yellow rose. Rest in peace 🙏
Thank you Ron and Tommy for the story and making sure Rita was not forgotten
God bless you both for telling her story with kindness and compassion. Here's to hoping they solve the case one day.
Hi Tommy
Hello
SO COOL TO HAVE TOMMY BRING THIS TO OUR STREAM , AND RON IS SO AMAZING 👏, I DO HOPE THEY CATCH WHO DID THIS , WHAT A SAD STORY 😔, I JOE 👋, RIP RITA 💔😢🕊
Thanks for watching Natalie
The whole murder story is strange, it's like the police department was just interested in getting it over with and placing the blame on anyone. I would think this was the work of a serial killer and there might of been similar cases. But they didn't have the techniques we have today. I hope they find out who he was. Do you know what ever happened to the odd guy after he got out? Thanks I enjoyed it.
I hope they find something since they reopened the case back up again.
Welcome aboard Tommy the Cat, nice job there RC, but such a sad, sad story, the poor girl. REST IN PEACE-RITA BOUCHARD, so very sad... WHAT A WORLD! G t E.
Hi Ron love you channel and passion for history. Just seen another recording where someone drives a tesla through a cemetery and it picks up images of people not there have you ever thought of trying something like this or is it a scam video x
Creepy forest 🌳 rip 🪦
Thanks to Tommy the cat for bringing the story to be told its hard to say the he did it or not hope they solve this horrible crime
Tommy the Cat rock on bro nice job,,🤟
Thanks Durwood, I’m glad you could join along!
How sad. Rest In Peace Rita. I wonder if the family could not afford a stone at the time.
That’s likely as the family got evicted from their home after Rita’s murder and her siblings got split up and shipped off to who knows where
Another good story.
HI RON! I hope that the family find closure to this horrible tragedy, and I do hope she get that Headstone, she deserves one, but we do have to respect the Family Wishes, thanks again Ron, c u later alligator, be safe and be well,
Maybe the Police could exhume the body and look for DNA evidence, such as under her fingernails. Surely she had to put up a fight.
Thanks Ron, Tommy & Joe!
Hey Ron and Tommy 🙋🏻♀️ Good blog.
Interesting and sad story. It's been 8 months and I wonder if the police have made any headway, or if anyone has heard from Rita's family? I bet the murder scene could be an interesting location for paranormal activity. Camping the night in that little clearing could be interesting. Though I'm 65 years old and have never witnessed anything paranormal in my life. I'm kind of fence sitter when it comes to ghosts. lol Anyway, RIP Rita.
Rest in peace Rita. Thanks Ron
I heard about the Black Dahlia murder in California it was horrible. I did not know about this poor girl Rita. Thank you Ron and TommyTheCat interesting sad story hope DNA Genealogy will solve the mystery . Ron your T-shirt 👍 RIP Dahlia Bouchard and her family that has passed on.
