- This is what we believe to be the first ever recording of Weelkes's madrigal, 'Say dear, when will your frowning leave'. The video is from recording sessions for our brand new album celebrating the music of Thomas Weelkes and William Byrd, 400 years from their deaths. In our version of this madrigal, the first part is a solo line accompanied by viols, and the latter part is a chorus in which voices and viols double each other.
