  • Our Skoolie gets some heat! I installed the diesel heater that we have had for over a year now. I was so detailed in my filming that the original video was over 3 hours! No one wants to hear me drone on for over 3 hours. So, I split it into 3 and heavily edited it.
I hope this video gives some good information and helps with your heater install. Please leave any questions in the comments and I'll try to answer them.

Couldn’t you just use the existing Diesel tank on the bus rather than wasting time with the separate tank/transfer pump?

Yes, I could but that comes with it's own problems. I talk about it in part 2 of these videos. I've seen and heard of people using the main tank of the bus for their heater as well but get into trouble when they are parked for a long while and use the heater a lot then don't have enough fuel to run the bus to get out of where they are. Becomes a whole hassle for them. I'm pretty sure that would not happen to us but I want to keep the chassis systems and living space systems completely separate. Just a weir quirk I have.

Have you got aomething against masochists ? 🙂
It may help others to know that a turret plate could be used instead of the supplied mounting plate.

LOL. Even masochists don't want that kind of suffering.
I didn't even think of a turret plate. That's a great idea. I would have saved the taping. That would have been a much better option on my camperette when we installed the heater in it. A great idea.
