    To hear (and watch) second-generation EMD power (such as these CCET units) so "healthy" and vibrant is an absolute pleasure. SD40-2 #3512 -- taking the lead -- "says it all". His P3 horn even sounds in-tune 🎼🎶and in good shape 💪!!

    Superb video on the CCET. A proper train and looking very smart with 3 locomotives all spruced up in that lovely black and red livery. It's a great little railroad and certainly looking the part these days. Thank you for taking the time to give us an extended look at your local short line railroad. I look forward to seeing developments on CCET they're definitely my highlight of the week and with the Dupps train in the same week it's really made my day!

    28:38 the older DME reporting mark was showing on the hopper. The Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern was a regional RR operating on the former CNW "Alco" line from Minnesota into South Dakota and elsewhere from 1986 until 2016. They had a hodge podge of hoppers like what CCET uses although they did have some new hoppers towards the end. And good to see the 2 old Soo Line hoppers still hauling grain and not fertilizer yet.

They are good for sand snats and mosquitoes it's awesome watching trains switching.😊 I have a question. Do engineers have to wear ear muffs because of the loud horns when they blow them?😮 Thanks for another awesome video Mr JT ❤😊Your sweet animals make me smile ❤😊

  • @Moocowthegreat
    @Moocowthegreat Год назад +6

    Fun fact: When a fast train is approaching an intersection, you’ll notice that the horn sounds higher as it’s approaching and sounds lower as the locomotive passes. This is caused by the speed of the train effecting the sound waves.
    Sound waves can’t go either faster or slower, so they bunch together in front of the train creating a higher frequency. Then the sound waves behind the locomotive are spread farther apart because the train is moving away, this creates the lower sound.
    Pretty cool, right?

      I have a video from Indiana where I found a bat. I was on an old abandoned military base that had railroads going all over the place between the abandoned buildings. I opened this huge thick steel door and there was a bat hibernating there. That was pretty cool. Bats are very animals to have. While I was typing this I just remembered seeing one sleeping under my porch roof a few years ago. I see them flying around my farm a lot. I want to get one of those bat houses.

    Good Morning JT,
    I love all these little towns that you go to. I always enjoy your videos. Great switching action. That engine #1657 had a wonky bell on it, listen to it again and you will see what I'm talking about. Cheers SIR from Ontario 🇨🇦 I see that railroad employee stayed for the roll by to make sure everything was good on the train. Guy in white car can eat crow. Man those engines are some quiet. Why only 4 axle trains aloud on the grain spur? When you said that I was literally looking at the axle difference of the engines. Nice Ex SOO LINE car.

    • @JawTooth
      @JawTooth  Год назад +2

      The grain spur has really old track with a sharp curve and lighter rail. The rail is dated in the 20s and a lot of the ties need replaced. They have had a few small derailments and they are afraid that a large locomotive will come off the track. Thanks for watching!
