My character's mother was a bard cleric, worshipper of Milil. When she died, Milil gifted her eldest with a natural ability for bardic magic as a way to help pass on her legacy, a gift in return for all of the work that she did in servitude to him.
I wanted to say thank you for all your work on your channel, not only is it fun to listen to but it also helps a lot. I have a hard time with my work schedule and parental duties diving into this... I really appreciate it.
Played a few Animal Domain Mielikki Clerics in the Neverwinter Nights series. Druids don't have the martial prowess that I enjoy & Rangers tend to be a little crappy so that's been the best way I've found to have my cake & eat it.
The Unicorn is Lurue Mielikki's friend, ally and mount. It's said that they used to spend time in Sylverymoon before its creation in a place where now is an inn in their memory. Also The Unicorn Run in a valley south of the High Forest is a place of pilgrimage for both creatures/goddesses. The cool thing about being a follower (Cleric, Druid or whatever) of Mielikki is that they change their outfits with the seasons (Faiths and Avatars book). Also fun fact Mielikki is a "real" Finnish Goddess of the Forest.
Hooray! A video on my second favorite Unicorn and Woodlands Goddess! And my favorite transplanted-deity in the Forgotten Realms pantheon. I did not know that Autumn is in her portfolio.
Hey jorphdan, I started reading the avatar trilogy recently because of these videos. I am enjoying them and I'm near the end of the fire book. So thanks 👌
Hey man, Again, thank you for your many series. One suggestion: put a timestamp link in the description for each part of the videos when they are divided up like the two dieties for easier access to the one you're looking for. Thanks!
Can't wait for Tymora & Tyr (she's all fun and he's all serious... kinda like a mis-matched couple sitcom) Will you also be covering the pantheons of various races as well?
That's the plan, but some of those deities have difficult information to find on. My book I've been pulling information from "Faiths and Avatars" doesn't have a lot of the race specific deities. BUT! I'll see what I can dig up :D
@@Jorphdan Two others who I can mention are Loviatar(She kinda interlaps with Louhi, they might or might not be the same) and Ilmater(who literally is only separated from Ilmatar by one letter).
@@Ruosteinenknight Actually as a finn myself and being familiar with some deities in dnd Ilmater and Ilmatar although etymologically similar are not the same nor does Ilmater draw inspiration from Ilmatar. As many finnish people can verify the tar suffix on Ilmatar most of the time refers to a femine or female as a person. So in addition the names being different so are the genders aswell. With the addition of Ilmatar being a deity associated with air (ilma meaning quite literally air). Though Loviatar most definetly is a finnish deity (note the suffix tar yet again on Loviatar), but I digress. An honorable mention would be kiputyttö (kiputytto in dnd) who was a demigoddess of disease slain by Talona. For those intrested Kipu = pain and tyttö = girl so quite literally paingirl.
@@ventusastrea3850 they indeed are finnish deities, their origin in dnd even states that they come from finnish pantheon and those three were only ones that survived, well kiputytto was slain by talona and later resurrected but killed again by another god.
Great video, I actually was checking this out because I created a Mielikki Cleric in Baldur’s Gate 3 and love the dialogue and my character very much about protecting . Also trying to decide to stick with tempest domain (wrath of nature in thunder when forest is threatened was logic) or light domain one. So thanks for the video, actually really like the sound of this deity
Drizzt has waded further from Mielikki over time, but I still think it would be cool for him to visit The Falls of Tumbling Stars. He did meet a Unicorn in Mooshi’s Grove, but I think a visit to the falls would surpass that.
Mielikki was lifted complete from the Finnish myths section of Deities & Demigods and dumped into the Forgotten Realms world setting. Come to think of it the Forgotten Realms pantheon is an add hock collection or gods from other sources!
Hey thx for the videos I was really looking for something like this. I train in archery the use of swords and other weapons ,practice acrobatics do lots of hiking, camping and outdoor stuff, was always fascinated with Rangers (thats why i started doing all of my trainning). Now i'm in the search for a sort of sigil/simbol for my weapons, even maybe a tattoo so maybe you could help me with this?
Not sure why your pronunciation is so off but it seems like you leave out sounds that should be there.I don't read it as "my-lee-kee" but more like "me-eh-lee-kee". Where the third letter being 'e' is also pronounced. As a studied liquist. It's seems right to me.
I'm legitimately surprised he got through Mielikki without even mentioning him. He's one of the few examples of direct intervention by Mielikki, and her chosen champion, despite the fact he really only gives her bare lip service.

Mielikki is a Finnish spirit of the forest, it's wonderful that they have added it to the game
I played an Aasimar Oath of the Ancient Paladin who worshiped Mielikki and rode on a unicorn into battle! She was very majestic.
sounds cool!

That's great! I read through the adventures but not the novels. Now that I'm done with the War of The Spider Queen series I'll have to pick them up!
Jorphdan they seem worth the read so far. The characters are intetesting and I like the concept
More than being first, I wake up every Wednesday looking forward to these videos! Thank you Jorphdan!
Thanks for watching! :D

I was not! Thanks for the info!

multiclass :D

Mielikki is old pagan goddess of forests. Wife of Tapio, King of the Forests.
Rowan Hawklan she is very real
yup, have thoroughly enjoyed your ids, keep em coming. oh, and how bout a round on the dwarven and drow deities?
We're getting closer to my queen... although likely the shortest segment ever.
Thanks, i would love to see one of these for Shar
I was wondering if you were going cover persana? I'm doing a triton paladin and I had some trouble finding information about their gods.
My Rangers godess. Also my favorite godess.
I wanna make a evil bard of malil that plays metal most brutal lolz
Hi! Could you tell me where can i get the image from 2:55 ? Or the artists name or somethin? Thank you.
The Bathing Pool by Hubert Robert? I assume you meant the painting?

Yes that would be a great topic, I'll add it to my list!
Milil homie thats what
Where does a deciple of My Leaky go when they die?
Got the answer myself, it's called The Happy Hunting Grounds.
Mielikki also a Finnish goddess
the pictures chosen at times distract from what is said in the script

her unicorn is a minor god in of its self
She believe that every thing has a spirit like druids native American people.they worshipped the woods and everything in it
would you say an "oath of ancients" paladin could not follow mielikki?
Let the drizzit comments begin
scoots291 drizzit worships mielikki. Comments done!
C2daORRUPT drizzt worships no god but is a chosen of Meilikki, his wife Kattibrie does though.
scoots291 drizzt is number one

Milil 3:06
for the longest time I thought Milil was female ._.
First!
