This was an incredible opening day for Jalen and I. This was also our first elk hunt alone without the guidance of our dads. It's definitely a different experience having to make your own decisions to put an animal on the ground. This is all part of a learning experience, and you have to accept failure, so you have a better understanding of the situation the next time.
