I used to watch Budgie live during the late seventies and eighties. This is from the album "Never turn your back on a friend".

Budgie, such an underrated band form the 70s and 80s! You should listen to their song Napoleon Bonaparts 1 and 2 🎸

Budgie is a Welsh band from the late 60's onward. They are considered to be a founder of Metal. They are very popular in my hometown of San Antonio Texas.
    They were formed in Cardiff.
This song has been covered by Metallica.
Be proud of your country and its musical heritage.
    Thank you so much.
    Really needed this today.
This is one of those bands that were successful but never huge.
I have seen them twice live.
    Thank you again.
I will send you a female artist next.

@@jphillipsjwp yeah, actually any song from Legs Diamond would be good. Even as far back as stage fright. And for Budgie songs to react to could be " turn to stone", "crime against the world", " im no mountain" and " parents". As Mr. Joe Anthony would say, " Rock n roll". "Lets pop the top with the home of rock n roll. 99.5 Kiss". I can almost hear him right now.

@@lawrencesantana7253 I miss KZEP I am no longer in S.A. but I used to listen to the mighty ZEP online. Kiss got to be a bit commercial for my taste. Not at all in the footsteps of Joe Anthony. San Antonio has a very unique rock history, I miss it. Sunken Gardens, Sneakers, Las Amone(Can't spell) I miss it all.

@@jphillipsjwp la semana allegre- the free week. During fiesta week. Yeah i know what you mean. 99.5 rock music has gone down in quality as far as new music is concerned. There is no more 104.5 kzep any more. I forget the classic rock channel, but even that one has gone down quite a bit. Just like any other station, they play the same songs. I dint hear early black Sabbath, hardly any ufo, once a year maybe some Edgar Winter or queensryche - the early years- by accident. But the good thing is there's always you tube. Try ricking out to the resurrection band " shadows" live and Darrell Mansfield " people get ready" live and Bloodgood "top of the mountain". Let me know what you think.

@@fuzzycounsellor9147 To be honest I don't think Metalica could do the slow part. They just don't have anybody that can sing that way. the secret to that slow part is his melodic relaxing trance he puts you while listening to it and it's his unique voice that does it. I think Metalica realized that and decided to leave it out.

Apart from a "+1" to all the recommendations in these comments I've seen, if you want another hard rocker with a mellow bit in the middle, you might like Napoleon Bona Parts 1 and 2.
And then I have to let you know about *Cardiacs* (from a bit further underground than Budgie). Sometimes they rock, sometimes they pop, sometimes they're fairly heavy, and often they're wild-crazy ("circus music" - best circus music your mind's bears ever rode their bicycles to).
Maybe try *Nurses Whispering Verses* on your own time, and then if you think they might be worth reacting to (based on however you decide that), maybe consider something else to follow it up. (I'll put another link in a "reply" to this, so as not to clutter your "top thread" with my posts.
ruclips.net/video/tiVOEHIHuzU/видео.html (It has a mellow section, too - almost ambient - but it's like a psychedelic jungle full of insects singing insect hymns.)

The band Dogma has a heavy metal tune called free yourself that has a jazz piece seamlessly wedged into the middle. Maybe they got the idea from Budgie?
