    My secret to this trick is to keep your front foot sideways and keep your legs locked with your body while you spin. If your front foot is pointed like a kickflip it's easy for it to slip off and if your legs aren't locked in sync with your body the board gets away from you.

    Board setup matters a lot more than we care to admit. For me, scoop tricks and spin tricks are sooooo much easier on short wheelbases (14" and Ace trucks). Just so much more responsive if they're a tad shorter as well like 31.25". As soon as i increase wheelbase, length, or tail length everything get's all messed up. I'm on the shorter side 5' 10" though.

      Hahaha, Ace truck really give me some advantage beside my deck, I tried treflip on my local deck Shipwreck skateboard then boom treflip first try and I never close to land treflip on standar deck and today I just tried switch front foot impossible after 10 minute I land one, really short tail and nose and deep concave give u some advantage

    Great video! Chris Cole really does have the best back 3s. A lot of peeps do them "all scoop" with the front foot just flapping around, and that's fine, but his are really more of an ollie, with both feet on the board, and I think that looks the best.

    I do it with my front foot on parallel to the trucks u know? Like an Ollie not like a flip, like 5 fingers away from bolts, finally when I start to rotate I try to push down my front foot like a boned Ollie, sorry for my English I hope it helps

  • @tilen3870
    @tilen3870 2 года назад

    Great detail about the arms. I'll start trying them again soon, I wonder if it will help! One thing I think could be hard is convince myself to actually pull my arms close to my body, as usually they automatically go all over the place to maintain proper balance when landing. Keep up the good work!

    This video really helped man. I pivot my back 3s so bad I hate them, they are basically 180 pivots ew gross hate myself. So watching this is super helpful. I am going to take all this advice and just keep grinding them like you were doing. My biggest problem is I seem to just stop turning once I get to 180° I think not popping enough and my arms not rotating properly stopping my turn . My back nollie 360s feel great. I get that whip feeling with them and I feel like I barely have to try to do them, but I can't seem to get that same feeling with the back 360. And the harder I force them the worse the just seem to get. Anyways thank you for the help.

    • @tilen3870
      @tilen3870 2 года назад

      Maybe it would help if you try them off a kicker or a bank, so you have more hangtime. That way, you maybe don't have to rotate as agressively, since you have more time to do the spin. I have yet to try this myself, though, so this is more of a 'sharing my ideas with you' than an actuall tip haha.

    Definitely don't have these on lock, land maybe 3-5/10 attempts, but I've personally found a few rules that help a lot to follow (and tend to hurt to deviate from lol):
    -Stance like a tre flip. And an optional addition to this first rule is to also point your front foot to the nose as much as you comfortably can, I've found that this allows the board to get into that primo wrap around the back foot easier while scooping.
    -Head and shoulders go first, your hips and legs will naturally want to follow their rotation/trajectory.
    -Imo most important rule here. Lean slightly back and toe-side when making your head and shoulders start the rotation first. This will make the scoop you create from your hips and legs trailing behind your head and shoulders during the second half of the trick require less effort, and follow your body more predictably.
    -Look down (sounds obvious but it's important).
    -Pay attention to your front shoulder during the second half of the trick, specifically, make sure it closes during those last 90 degrees or else you'll be doing a bs 270 while your board does a 360, or both will be doing 270.
    -Last one. Sounds contradictory, but dont overthink or over-exert them. If you feel yourself starting to try really hard, stop, dial back the effort, and slow them down. Also in the same vein of this rule, a good way to warm up for trying the trick is to do 5-10 bs 360 reverts and then start trying to add a scoop into the mix. Thats all the trick really is after all.
    Hope this helps someone. He has them better than me, just thought id share some rules I've accumulated after 5 or so years into this trick.

    landing with back wheels first which causes too much pivot. decent way to practice but not a solid 360 and land. youll figure it out just keep experimenting. the ones you land the best are the ones where your front foot slighty is above the board as u come around. ive seen others do them clean when they do that. thats when your board is level enough to land clean, no pivot.
