How times flies. I seen this lens as I am just trying to get low light. I have a Sony a5000 Camera I picked up for cheap and I have some Canon lens that I use a OES-NEX Adapter.
Only issue was I can not control the Aperture. So, being new I am playing with it from a class and I am doing something every day.
4:08 when you was in the lounge I asume you use all Natural light. I too would love to use what my eyes can see. So I want to get lots of Prime Lens with Manual control (I understand this is not Weather Proof. So I will have to keep a mental note on that)
Love your video and your style. I am learning about Cinematic Style and Cinematography by Vilmos Zsigmond
      Have a wonderful day

Nice try Lucy, trying to get everyone to stop buying vintage glass so you can have them all to yourself! I see what you’re doing.

That music at the end was so 80’s movie-like. Reminded me of something from the movies ‘American Gigolo’ or ‘After Hours’. He is a great composer!

Have you tried any of the Olympus lenses, say 50mm F1.4 or 1.8. or the 28mm.
    Like what you are doing.

I know my comment will be strong but I don't care:
I have a huge dislike of 7artisans, TTatrisans etc.

90% of the times I like it for videos. I could be interesting to see it in day light.
For photos I really still like more the film medium.
    bye

It's funny how I am sitting here in the Northern hemisphere, in shorts and t-shirt watching Lucy freeze in Australia :)
Nice footage. The look came across well.

In terms of video, it's always been great, so I can't tell any difference if you're using a phone or camera. I mean, if it helps your creativity wonderful but I think it's overkill with a majority if not all watching on the phone.

I just find it insane how 7artisans (and TTartisans) lenses are sharp as a RAZOR. I own a TTartisans 25mm and 35mm (both in f1.4), which are my daily carrying lenses + an APS-C Sony camera, and here is the catch. I recently bought the legendary Multicoated-Super-Takumar 50mm f1.4 for my Pentax (film camera) for almost triple the price and oh my god, I was... surprised. The sharpness of the Super-Takumar is excellent, don't get me wrong, but the TTartisans is equally as good, and I must admit, even better wide-open. Of course, color renderization is probably better in the Super-Takumar because it is multicoated, but nothing that we cannot fix in post. So I don't know... using a vintage lens on an APS-C camera also requires a sometimes bigass adaptor that makes it even bulkier. Hence, I think 7artisans (and TTartisans) are no-brainers if you are okay with manual focus. Thank you for bringing this up, Lucy, and also, nice clip you got with the diffusion filter :)!

Thank you so much for watching lovely! Funny you mention the super takumar lenses because we have that same one and a few others as well and we absolutely love them! My partner has taken lots of really lovely family shots with them. They live on our Pentax spotmatics. Glad to hear you are also a fan of 7 artisans and TT artisans gear as well - I think they are great quality and affordable which is awesome!

Yesss, the entire Takumar series is ridiculously good, and I also use it on my Spotmatic camera🤩! Unfortunately the f1.4 ones are rather rare and pricey. So I think there is exactly were 7artisans lenses shine bright for me, because I always go out take pictures after work when it's dark and when using and f1.4 lens I CAN SEE IT ALL haha ❤️

I bought the 7artisans 35mm f0.95 on a whim for some fun but it's since become my favourite and most used lens! I don't feel like I need anything else for photography. The newer 7artisans are incredibly high quality build and optics.

Yesterday I got a ttartisan 50mm 1.2 for Fuji. I can't believe how good the build quality and overall performance of this lens is. I only paid 95 EUR 😮

Great video, I didn't consider 7artisans' lenses before as I thought they were too cheap to be good. I might have to reconsider.
BTW I see you are using direct flash on Xt4 (great pictures). Do you ever use flash on film? I got a couple old flashes and a new Godox one for my mirrorless and was thinking about giving it a try on my Nikon FE, any tips?

I have a couple lenses from 7Artisans and TTartisan and I enjoy them. For my hobbyist needs, they are much more affordable than the bigger names. The 50mm f/0.95 has crazy low light ability!

The Fujifilm 23mm (35mm equivalent) lenses aren’t bad at all. The f2 is quite compact and the f1.4 does well in lower light although it is larger/heavier.I couldn’t decide and wound up with both. The f2 is very nice and compact on an X-E4 for street photography.

Good video, Lucy. Fuji swapped an XA7 for my XF10 that I smashed in a skiing accident. I bought the 7artisans 24 mm, a TTartisan 50mm, and even a Rokinon 85mm for my new camera. Not only was I surprised by the quality of the lenses, the all manual operation made me even more aware of DOF and aperture. I find these manual lenses fun, and the price makes them painless to buy.

First of all, nice hair! 😎👍
The lenses from 7artisans are always very interesting, but I do have enough manual focus lenses myself. As for the photos - they never disappoint. Too bad the flash killed the reddish neon light though. I might have gone for no flash, a bit higher ISO with the noise, that can result in to keep the shutter speed fast enough to hand hold the camera and still capture the color of the lights on your arm, shoulder and cheek.
