Nature and fungi are beautiful, but most of the beauty is in the eye of this man and in the way he photographed them and revealed this beauty to us all !
Wow! I participate in community science via iNaturalist, and have come to love the fungi, too, but this time-lapse work makes them come alive in a new way. Loved the cameos by trap-door spiders, too!
This was so fascinating it actually brought tears to my eyes. I think mushrooms are so beautiful in their delicate resilience, it really speaks to my heart. Thank you 🙏
Thank you. This is a beautiful way to remind us that most of the time we wander through the world without really seeing the amazing things that live here. If we'd only stop and look the way you have, maybe we'd take more care not to destroy it all before we even know it's there.
Wow how fascinating this fungus are. Never even imagined the glowing one exists or the ones that look like spiders. Fantastic work! Respect for this photographer.
You don't see them much, but I've read fungi compose 25% of the biomass. Beautiful and hypnotizing time lapses of a very unappreciated category of life!
I've been known to take pics of interesting mushrooms/fungi where I live, but it's in a city. Although I've seen documentaries before, I've never seen anything as beautiful as this, or could even imagine they even existed. I loved all of them, especially the ones that glow. And the trap door spiders were an amazing extra. Thanks so much for opening my eyes a little wider, and thanks to CNN for pointing me in this direction.
This the most amazing program and should be on TV more often. More people would be interested if it was easily available. I am flabbergasted. I would love to add a few of my photos. Back yard lawn growths. Adelaide South Australia. Thanks Stephen and associates for this program. Jan Hopgood.
2:57 starfish fungi. Amazing to see it burst open. 3:09 opening. 3:24 opening, 3:49 opening. 4:33 and the 4:35 a LUMINOUS one! David Attenborough voice
Why these glorious videos have suddenly appeared on YT - like fungi after a fire - is anyone's guess, but your early hobby giving you pleasure, has now thrilled people worldwide, involving major scientists and film makers.. How special is that,
Thank you for these amazing videos, I take still photos with a pocket camera of fungi and lichen everywhere I go. I spend the winter making A4 photos of my specimens I love their diversity and their actions in recycling the dead stuff!
I always have love mushrooms but one day I was hiking in October after a rainy day, the forest was full of different colorful mushrooms, since that day I've been discovering and learning about mushrooms, they are so fascinating 🍄
OUTSTANDING!!! The fungi at @4:33 look like the shrimp-hand things in the movie Beetlejuice! I particularly find the bioluminescent fungi really fascinating. I had no idea this was possible!
In the rain forest of Yunnan there are thousands of fungi species many of them unknown to the scientific community as a whole, while the people there have been eating them and using it for medicinal purposes. While a lot of it isn't scientific, I am convinced we will find marvelous new substances for medicinal use or industrial applications
I noticed that in a couple of places there was a trapdoor spider. And on a fallen log, no less. I could probably watch this a dozen times and still not see everything. Time lapse shows so much!
in a mammalian sence , to me, fungus is like an non threatening mix if bugs and plants , like flowering insect eating, jungle fauna , crossed a path...
Just set the speed on youtube to 0.25x, gives you some more time to really have a good look. (You know that there is a little gear icon for settings in the lower right corner, do you?)
It gives me a true glimpse into the paradise of our future. There the earth will be as it should and we will explore for eternity! Ps. 37:29 Oh, we have only just begun.
Oh my God.....we are living in a mystical paradise....but most people dont know...

Mycology and photography are my two most favorite subjects. Captured some stunning shots there. Outstanding sir👍
Steve Axford, Australia's Fun Guy. What a fabulous photographer, should be a household name, but hardly anyone knows of him. Thanks for posting this.
Congratulations!! You hit the big time. CNN used your very informative video to brighten out day. Exquisite photography.

Fungi most beautiful thing on planet
Thank you for these amazing videos, I take still photos with a pocket camera of fungi and lichen everywhere I go.

I love their diversity and their actions in recycling the dead stuff!
They're nature's decomposers! Some can even plastic, isn't that crazy?
A4 size must be beautiful!
Brilliant work!! :) :)
Just amazing what goes on on this planet.

Yup, beautiful is an understatement.
That crazy red one with the claws/legs looks like something from an alien invasion movie!! Love it!!
I think that one is named eyelash cup fungi!
It is Aseroe rubra, the anemone stinkhorn 😊
Wonderful and fascinating!
I believe in faeries . . . So beautiful ❤❤❤

I used to photograph fungi in the Pacific Northwest. I didn't encounter this kind of variety, naturally.
Amazing stuff
Wonderful.
Stunning 🍄✌🏼
What camera are you using please? These are beautiful!
Amazing and beautiful!
My best opportunity to see more fungi, is in your channel. Congratulations! 🍄🍄🍄
Blue Truffle has epic colour.. wonder if there’s any medicinal uses for them?
Beautiful ❤️
Yes he is one fun-guy
Amazing and interesting. I wonder if someday they'll find medicinal uses and cures using fungi, or perhaps they already are.
Only the biggest, penicillin, and many others.

In a video about strange, fascinating-looking fungi, why do you flash past them so quickly that we can't get a look at them?
4:09 The mushroom grows next to the spider! What a great shot
I'm lichen this this dude! He's such a fun-guy! 😛
😄
that's super cool!!!
Trapdoor spider at 4:09
Great mullet on the Dr.
Great stuff

5:12. And what bug is at 3:59?! It appears to have no legs, no wings, just a tadpole like tail?! Wtf is that!?

I wonder if he ever ate psychedelic mushrooms. I learned my passion and wonder for mushrooms in general from them
Would someone be able to tell me what camera he is using? E.g., around :29 It's a Cannon, but what model?
3:22 is when the time lapses start
That is so cool
THX
Can anyone advise what camera to use for time lapse? Tried using my mobile but that means that no one can reach me until mushrooms are done.
Well, guess it's either you use a spare phone or buy a DLSR.
@@nunyabiznes33 I used my mobile and for a week, no one could reach me. 😂
He is one FUN GUY! Know’m sayin’?
I love mushrooms.
Wow great

Fungi are alien probes
There is little known about fungus cuz schools just don't teach anything about them. We learned about bacteria, virus but no fungi. 🍄
