I thought the Epiphonehad the best tonality out of all the guitars during the coil tap demo. I just bought a Gibson LP Classic at the Gibson Garage Store yesterday and am going down in my basement right now to push my DRRI until she breaks up and gives me that “Keith Crunch” sound I hear when I listen to my old Stones’ records. This was a pleasure to watch. Rock on! 🤘 🎸

I have the 2003 Copper-top Les Paul Classic. It’s been my main guitar for concerts, studio, teaching, recording, and composing for 20 years. It’s a solid tool!

Picked up a Classic out of the Gibson Demo Shop. It was hand wired, trans cherry with black plastics, vintage tuners and with nickel pickup covers. I love it because it reminds of my 80's "Les Paul" SG in trans cherry and black that had been stolen. It was my first good guitar I got as a kid by working and saving, and when it was gone, it killed me.

I have this guitar and it kicks ass! Does not sound as good as my Les Paul Standard, but it plays, feels easier to play then the Standard. Love them both! It sounds great, just not as good as my Standard Lemonburst.

Just picked one up at Gibson Garage the day after Christmas. They go over them and set them up before you take them home. This Classic plays as good as any I have. I've got a Standard, Standard HP, Traditional and Traditional Pro IV, too. The only thing I miss that I have on a couple are the locking tuners as I play out a lot. But I guess that wouldn't be very "classic" haha. Love mine!

I really forgot about that style of playing because I’ve never bought one album of this style, that being said the classic handles it well. It’s sounding great 👍 in clean and slightly driven modes. I would definitely own the classic it’s a great guitar

Superior review! Above and beyond! But yeah, the coil tap is useless. I have the same guitar and I just jumpered the capacitors on both the bridge and neck pickups (on the back of the PCB) to get a true coil-split. Much more usable.

The only thing I really don’t care for is all the push pull/ coil splitting nonsense. The more shit that moves, the more you gotta “fix”

    • @seventwistsclockwise

Exactly, nobody buys a Les Paul then plays it on coil split

    • @jhrdrake7205

@@seventwistsclockwise Nonsense, I do all the time. The range of tones one can get from this guitar is phenomenal. The only guitar a gigging musician really needs because of the push pull option so again your comment about "nobody" using the coil split is nonsense wrapped in pure ignorance.

Well worth it, especially if you can get a good deal on a used one. Got mine in ebony (used) but like new for $1,100 to my door. Feels like my old goldtop standard that I sold a while back. The 61 classic pickups are decent but I'm changing them out for Duncan Whole lotta humbuckers.

100% !! Great neck profile and weight, play mine more than my Standard, but the 57 classic pickups in the standard still have a special sound all their own. If you really want a LP, stick with a Gibson, it’ll outlast anything else.
