Omg this video is extremely misleading. Guys, the devs never said that the Fremen became extinct, that's just false. Please watch the 'Direct' livestream interviews with the creative director of the game. He simply said that the Fremen went MISSING, and that according to imperial PROPOGANDA, the Fremen have been exterminated. However, he also reveals that part of the main story is to find the Fremen, or find out what happened to them, or why they went missing, and/or where are they hiding if they are still alive. That basically means we have no idea if the Fremen are alive or not, and part of the main story is to figure that out. It's basically a huge mystery that we need to solve. Heck, even at the end of the character creation demo video that they released, the Bene Gesseret Reverand Mother instructs you to go to Arrakis and FIND the Fremen. So please stop spreading fake news about the Fremen not being in the game, we simply have no idea. My personal guess is that they exist in the game and we eventually find them alive during the main story, because it would make a lot of people upset if the Fremen are not in the game. Additionally, the creative director also implied that another part of the main story is to find out why are we looking for the Fremen? Why have the Bene Gesseret sent us on this mission? Which I think would be very interesting.

The ONLY bad thing is the fremen being gone. If that remains how itll be, that removes a massive entity to fight against/ally yourselves with. IDC that its an alt timeline. Thats cool to see. Its a game guys calm down. It allows a dune game to have atriedes without the game being just a copy of the story of the books.
