I have watched just about every gravity irrigation video known to man and this one is the shortest, most informative, and favorite one yet. I will hopefully be able to get my system set up before spring.
Great video thank you. I suggest you isolate the middle tanks now they are full and allow the top overflow to keep them topped up. If you have a leak in any of the connected tanks , they will all empty!
Yes! I ended up using a TORO low pressure timer 53453. A couple things you'll want to make sure is. Take the screen out of the timer. Also make sure your rainbarrels are super clean and stay clean otherwise it will lower the life of the timer and everything gets clogged up.
Have you found a timer that will work? I need one for my small balcony bucket garden and the ones I have found all require at least 10-15 psi. I can't get that using 5 gallon buckets.
The timer i had to replace after 2yrs it stopped working i tried a different brand and it just felt cheap so i returned it and got the same one. I got the barrels from a local auction website i probably payed 30/each
I need More pressure I have 1 55 gallon drum elevated with a bulk head attached to 50 feet of 8mm hose and 50ft of 4 mm I'm looking for a solar pump but don't know the psi or water flow I need. It works great with pressure from my garden hose but I dont want to run a 100ft of garden hose to water the plants

i like the idea of the two way spigots!!! nice! i am going to do same. thanks for making video. very helpful👍👍👍👍👍

For gravity fed look for a timer that uses a Ball Valve rather than a Solenoid.
Thank you for educating me.
Did you ever find a timer that opened up? If so, please make an update video. This is the best rainwater system, I've seen yet.

@@skydivedave4728 How long go the batteries last on the TORO low pressure timer?
@Off Grid Southern Italy i change them 2x year just to be safe. But they should last 1 growing season
You can use a Toro low pressure timer for your application.
Brilliant!
Water always finds level. No need for those overflows as long as there is a small vent for air to get out

Yes, I tried several and this on has been working so far (2 seasons) www.amazon.com/dp/B081W7RVRH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_L50cFbMGQG50J.
Great video. Can you explain why the timer didn’t work? Was it because the pressure was too low coming out of the barrels or something else? Thanks!
1:48 thank you for the timer. I too bought orbit timers for a remote area and they did not supply the volume😡.
Try a no-pressure timer that has batteries to mechanically ship on/off. I just bought one from Toro at Ace Hardware to try.
Did you use regular soaker hose or low pressure soaker hose?
Is ok to water food garden from asphalt shingle roof?
I haven't had any problems
Nice
nice rain barrell where did you get those. Is that timer still working well.

Nice. Thanks for info
The irrigation timer work?
Why didn’t the timer work?
Any updates on timer? I want drip with rain barrels for our garden but like you would like a timer.

Why didn’t the time worked on the dripper?
Since the rainbarrels are no or low pressure systems it didntbwork. I found a timer that worked
@@skydivedave4728 yes I did the research after posting the questions. You need a low or no flow timer to work on gravity feed. Good luck
You need a timer for low water pressure… not high water pressure
