You know what I like on your channel ? You show us boats with the same interest and passion wether it's an old (and charming) 78' Hateras or a 30 million megayacht.
awwww thank you for the kind words
Good one 👍
❤
I totally agree!
Love the older trawlers. You can definitely tell someone really loved this one.
agreed Dirk
You can tell this boat is old, but you can also tell that whoever owned it, treated it so well and took great care of it!
Love these older Hatteras. If you’ve ever heard “ they don’t build things like they used to “, case in point. These boats were made like tanks.
agreed 💙
Trying not to sink…
Also when you buy something like this, if you maintain it well she is already depreciated. Not like when you buy new for say 3m and depreciation can buy this Hatteras!
I think the newer yachts are hideous and should be banned. You know, the ones with 5 windows 1 foot tall and 7 feet long.
nearly 50 years old and the woodwork looks nearly new. Great quality, nice boat
It is!
So nice to see an older boat that has been so well cared for by the owners. Thanks for another great tour, and start to the weekend.
Welcome to the weekend and thank you for watching!
This boat has so much available room inside, would be great for a live aboard family.
we can see that
Hatteras yachts were built in High Point, North Carolina from 1959 until 1997, when they moved to New Bern, North Carolina. I went on a tour when they were still in High Point. This model has amazing storage and the master stateroom is just crazy. Another great tour from Victoria and Rico!!!!
Awwww we appreciate you!
Must have been a pain getting a 58ft from High Point to the ocean!
My Dad used to wallpaper those yachts. He worked in High Point and then New Bern until he retired.
@@jamesvelvet3612They want 200k for a 1978 yacht????
Come on, that's ridiculous, the whole boat needs breaking up and parting out.
Really love the walkthroughs for the more affordable boats - one request would be to talk more about what to look for/avoid. It seems like all the reviews are 99% positive, so showing some stuff that isn't so great would be helpful and informative (it's not like we can all buy this ONE boat).
I was 3 when this boat came out. What I like ks that it has retained some of it's yacht characteristics whereas a lot of people get these and make them basically an apartment that you would find on land. This was nice. It has charm.
I agree. I was 8 when this came out. It definitely took me back to those days when our first memories were made.
couldn’t agree more Clif
You young punk! I was 8 when this boat came out.
Who needs these modern multi million boats this boat is wonderfull
I can imagine that boat being home to a grizzled old detective in some hard-boiled cop series from the late 80s/early 90s. She's gorgeous.
she truly is
A grizzled old detective, with a tiny kitten running around. I can see it now!
Child of the 50’s this yacht and I have a lot in common. Aging Gracefully 👍🏻
lol
A true classic indeed. It was the Hatteras 53 MY with a cockpit added on. Notoriously wet ride but a tough, capable yacht. The owner stateroom is extra large, I think many of these yachts had another stateroom aft. This would be a fantastic live-aboard with the massive owner stateroom. The main salon is narrow due to the wide side decks and moderate beam of the 58 Yachtfish, but with different furniture and white paint is would feel comfortable. Thanks for the great tour.
Thank you so much for watching John
Nice Hatteras for a great live aboard. Built when I was 11. Love this series.
Glad you enjoyed it
This is a nice live-a-board especially from the great 70's. I am a 60's baby. So the 70's were the best.
yessssss 💙🙏
Thanks Guys! we love the affordable series boats...I love the 80ts and 90ts well made boats!
Our pleasure! We completely agree.
Older Hatteras are TANKS.
So well built, classic interiors, and so affordable ❤❤❤
I love the Hatteras, and Chris Craft, and other yachts of this "very young boat" era that follow this general plan form. They just seem like great boats for all sorts of entertaining.
These were top of the line back in the day. My dad and I used to transport these beauties out of New Bern NC. They had a backlog of several years of orders. Built sturdy with timeless lines. Great tour.
This is a boat I could see myself living on. I love the aft suite setup and the full size fridge! 😍 Great tour, V!❤
Thank you for continuing the Affordable Liveaboard series.
Certainly a great example.
Great video of a beautiful yacht. I really like the "live aboard" series. They give me the feeling that I could afford and do this. There are a lot of great details on this yacht. Since I was born in 1961a yacht that was made in 1978 isn't that old. Stay safe.
You could do it Thomas!!! 🙌💙⚓️
...bitte MEHR Videos von bezahlbaren Yachten 🙏
kein problem
I absolutely love the lines if the Hatteras vessels. They compact little vessels with space well utilised.
I was born in 1984. But this yacht is absolutely beautiful. I love all the woodwork. And is greatly priced. I can't wait to order some merchandise and to get my own floating aviator
LOVE THIS YACHT!!! This is the sort of layout I'd want, completely exposed cockpit you can fish out of. Also I like the ladder up to the flybridge/helm, saves space. Although I could see that being a deal breaker for some, granny might still be with it and love to come along but that ladder, I dunno. The interior is like the Tardis, wasn't expecting all that room and storage(you could put galley stuff/provisions in the master bedroom closets since they are so huge). And that double engine room layout is SO DAMN COOL. Was expecting them to be crammed under the floor and be a real PITA like some other aft cabin boats, but man there is room to work in there and not bang your head. Plus you see things like that PEX piping, you know somebody loved this boat and spent some $$$$ maintaining it over the years.
Love the nastagia of this boat - AND, for $200k it sure makes a great live aboard. All one needs is a good spot to park it.
you are sooo right
I'm about to retire and this is a phenomenal idea. Sail her down to Boca from NJ and bring her up north on the Spring.
You two make me smile. Every time.
Awwww sooo happy to hear Michael
What i love about Hatteras is they age so well and in most cases get better with age and because of the design take newer tech so much better. Very revolutionary for its time
Thanks for sharing Andy! 🙌
You guys go together like penut butter and jelly...😂😂😂 I love watching the two of you Interact. So much joy, love, and happieness
😝🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
What a great boat! I've always loved Hatteras! And I was a sixties baby, lol!
Very cool!
Wow!!! This is too small for my family by one cabin and one bathtub, but everything other than that is perfect. Thanks for featuring it, NautiFolks... it gives me real hope that my boat is out there, and I'll be able to afford it (or something very close is out there and I'll be able to afford both the boat and the small renovations to make it perfect).
BTW, I'm a 1970 model, with occasional refits since. 🤣
lol
@NautiStyles (I was born in 1972) I have fantasized about owning a liveaboard, since I was a young kid. However my life zigged, when it should have zagged. Now living life, barely able to make it day to day, ,but I have the advantage of watching your show. I now vicariously live life on a boat thru y'all. Thank You for the awesome tours.
Great older boat..22 knots for this size and age. With those heavy engines.. cool layout, but being a kid born in 65...these were the cats meow when I was growing up😊😊yall did a great job. Great wood work. Your titanic move was ❤❤
Very large fuel, water and waste tanks. She was made to out at sea chasing billfish
Merry Christmas
Thanks for sharing Rob! 🙏🏻💙⚓️
Hatteras has a very good name for a reason. Thanks for this review !
Thanks for watching - we appreciate you!
As a boomer, this really trips my retro trigger! 😎 Given all those small ports, refits must have been very extensive; I'd like to see the original layout.
👌
Born in 98’ and couldn’t afford a kayak. Lol, But I love living vicariously through your videos.
Thanks for watching Nick! 🙏🏻💙⚓️
Also a 90's baby and I feel this comment deep in my soul! 😂
As a Millennial, I have to admit that I do find it difficult to not be envious and a bit bitter sometimes, especially towards the Boomer generation...
But that probably has something to do with our generation inheriting so much of their debt and knowing that they were able to easily afford to buy their own house in their 20's and actually be able to pay it off and they had the luxury of being able to quickly build a life for themselves, where they could raise a family of 4 on only a single average salary, PLUS be able to afford a vacation home or boat or both. And even after all of that, they still didn't have to worry about their retirement and can actually enjoy the fruits of their labor.
Meanwhile, as a Millennial in my early 30's, I'm already worrying if I'll even be able to retire at all ever, just renting a crappy small apartment takes 2 incomes and still leaves us paycheck to paycheck with absolutely no hope of ever being able to save to purchase a home of our own, nevermind be able to afford to keep it, and the thought of extras like vacation homes, or expensive luxuries such as having a boat, are literally the equivalent of a unicorn to me. They might as well be just a dream or fantasy because I'll never see that in my lifetime. And as for having kids, we can't even afford to properly take care of ourselves and with the state of the world and especially the economy, where they would inherit an even more astronomical debt, I can't even imagine bringing children into this world.
Anyways, sorry for the rant. lol I just get carried away sometimes about this topic especially.
Born in the 40's thank you. So i do remember the boats of the 60's and 70's I was around then and admired them. My favourites were oats like the Fairmiles made in England. Tbey were really sea worthy and pro ably more sea worthy than most modern boats.
NIce tour. Great to see a boat with this much age to show in such good shape. Kudos to Hatteras. I came into the world in the mid 50's so I favor the oldies that are goldies! Great job, you two, again. Having both of you share camera time enhances video quality, much like having a 2-camera studio set up. It gives a variety of views and commentary. You continue to work well together. Another great job!
Awwww thank you so much Michael for the kind words
Love this boat. Awesome for under $200,000. And you guys were having lots of fun showing it. Especially that young fresh Rico. ❤️😊👍🤪
That’s right our little young fresh Rico lol
Very nice Hatteras from the classic era that has been shown much love. I would have been 22 when she was built.
Beautiful OLD yacht. I was 16 when this came out...
👌
I was in my late 20's when this boat was built. You could call me the Ancient Mariner.
lol
This is my boat. Perfect size. Livable.
Great to hear Daniel!
The company my sister worked for had two Hatteras's over the years, a 50 something and a 70 something. We got to take the bigger boat to Catalina Island for a day and the next year flew up to Seattle to stay a week on the boat. Wonderful boats.
Thank you so much for sharing
Rico, I can’t believe you overlooked what looked like an Am/FM radio with a CD player by the helm! Nice seeing a boat that appears to have been loved by its owners.
🤯🤯🤯
1978 was a good year ! I completed my mechanical engineering BS from Georgia Tech Atlanta, GA. Okay… that’s showing my age !!! Rico that makes you VERY young :)
Thanks for your support Mike lol
@@Navy1977 one of my favorite places for years. But live in Palm Springs, Ca. Go every time I visit ATL
What a cool vintage boat. I love it. It is really well kept.
It truly is Alan
1971. We had the best TV shows and the best music.
Best music -64-84 now it's gone, thanks to the copying of albums!
I like that there is very little exposed teak - saves many hours of maintenance.
Thanks Barry
Thank you for sharing what an impeccable boat. Obviously, the owners took very good care of this vessel.
She likes to drink gas that’s for sure, but I would love to see her opened up
👌
You guys do such a good job and make every boat special. I like that.
Awwww we appreciate you!
I love it when you show these boats and this one is impeccable except for the ceiling clearances (I am 6'8")
Thanks Dean
1978, I remember it well. My kids were born 1971 & 1974. Very unusual layout. Interesting.
💙🙏
Is she still for sale ? Where is she moored
The listing for this Yacht is on our website under the "YachtTube" tab - if you'd like more info! 🙌💙⚓️
It has to be Steel .... or ..... No Deal. Bering for life. 😂 Of course i can't even buy a little boat . But i can dream, watching your Team. Our hostess looking good in stripes as always. 😊
Right on
nice, good size boat for a live aboard,
We agree!
Young & fresh like the cameraman! Absolutely! Love you two!
😎🤪🤣
The heads were a surprise, very nice, don’t remember ever seeing engine rooms like that
👌
3 years ago we inherited a house with my moms cats.... We rehabed it and were going to rent it out but covid put a strain on us and we moved in. We had a back bathroom that was for cats so no smell in the house, and recently started working on it..... I literally cut a hole in the side of my house, (house is on a raised foundation, thought about making a trap door...) Then I bought a plastic deck box that fit 2 litter boxes for $100, built a stand for it so its level with our floors and installed a 120mm high tech variable speed computer fan for exhaust for $30 and when I told people of my plans they thought I was nuts..... oh, the door cost me $20. Now everyone thinks I'm a genius. I had to cover it temporarily during the summer because it was 100f in there but I spray foamed it and now its perfect. Took the cats a day to learn how to use it.
This whole deck box thing was temporary with plans to build one but now, why? lol Nailed it. This boat version is awesome as long as it had a ventilation fan, otherwise, half ass. :)
Thank you for sharing this great story
Didn’t mean to sound judgy on ventilation. I just don’t like cat smells. :).
🙌🙌🙌
1958 for me, the 78 is yacht Fishermen is in much better shape I must say.I enjoy the older boats that you show and review.😊
Right on!
An identical boat to what Gus of In too Deep has, so was familiar with the lay out and this is a great boat for a great price. Absolutely taken care off very well. If the engines and electrical wiring are still in good shape this is a super boat. If it was in Europe I would buy it in a heart beat. We have a 50 footer and always say :'we need a bigger boat', but we don't like the Ikea designed modern boats. This one ticks all the boxes. Spend another 100 on upgrades, such as stabs and interior and it will last another 40 years. These boats were built to last. Great tour. 👍👍
Finally, a yacht that I could consider affordable! Very cool. And a great value.
Thanks for sharing Chris!
Born in the 50's. I can appreciate boats of this era.
happy to hear
Love the wood work
Thanks 👍
A year older than me, but in some points it looks much younger. I love it.
lol Hiii Mike
A super yacht of its era! I wonder if it could be called vintage?
Or classic? I'm glad they left the ladders behind!
👌
Nice layout on this one. First time I've seen one like it. Always liked the aft cabin designs, due to the lack a fishing/lower rear area I never looked at them much. Thanks for showing it.
Thanks for watching!
Rico, don't forget to tease Victoria next time you tour a boat the same age as she is LOL
Was that air draft / bridge clearance number correct? 32' seems a bit much unless that's including the VHF antenna standing tall.
Very nice looking liveaboard, built the same year I graduated HS
I absolutely love the older Hatteras 53 and 58’s layouts. Awesome boats. That will be our next boat. I can’t wait!
I find it interesting that some of the old boats are better designed than some of the new ones. As for my age, I'm 10 years older than Rico.
Almost 1/2 a century old and still sailing. Shows the quality.
yup completely agree
I'm over a 1/2 century now. I am still still moving under my own power. However my top speed has been reduced, and I may have developed a bit of a list. Still water tight. So that's good...
@@Navy1977 Definitely could use a refit. Don't have all the parts I started with. Even have a few after market parts. Still moving though...
This classic beauty from 1978 is five years
years younger than me and visually in excellent condition. My "keel laying" was in June 1972 and the launch in February 1973. Back to the classic beauty that you have shown us in such detail today. The layout is unusual, but what impresses me most is the excellent condition
(I think I should perhaps have a refit done on myself 😏).
I'm not normally a big fan of dark wood, but here in combination with the other colors - top 👍😀. I am happy every weekend as soon as I get the notification that a new video of my favorite yachties is available. Greetings from Germany
"Launch"!!! That gave me a good laugh. Thank you...
Stoneman,,,, you look a lot like Kevin James,,, the actor...
@@p42uynot59 Thank you very much 🤗. This is the First Time i got this to know, and KING OF QUEENS is one of my Favourites. Wish you all the Best and a very good and happy Christmas Time.
That '78 model has been well maintained, the boat too.
Victoria are you feeling alright? I can’t believe you walked right by that bell and didn’t ring it. 😂
Thanks for the tour!
Thanks for watching Scott
This boat looks pretty clean for a 45 yr-old build 😊
It is!
I'm older than this boat. I turn 50 next week. Thanks for making me feel old Victoria 😂
🙈😜
Well Goodness Gracious the Captain and Captainessa are Loving Their Presentation like some of the Best of the Best, Shaloms and Smooth Sailing.
Captainessa 🤪🤣🤣🤣
Nice to see such a variety of boats that you show on your videos. Keep it up. All the best.
Awww thank you so much Ron
Great Video. I own a 1979 Hatteras 58' YachtFisher (Triple Cabin Layout) that I live aboard. At 2 minutes you mentioned the guagues in the cockpit, the one right by the Master Stateroom escape window is for the Laz fuel tank and the aft one is for the water tank. At 4 minutes the catch pointed out on the fordeck leads to the Forward stateroom. At 10 minutes there is absolutely a lower helm station, it got removed. At 14 minutes the "deep storage" is just an Ice box, has no refrigeration but serves as a place to keep things frozen. At 20 Minutes, those are speakers they are placed all around the vessel. As for the specs, unless this was a special build with bigger fuel tanks (which is absolutely possible) the amount of fuel space is closer to 1300 US Gallons. Thanks for the video
I love this affordable live aboard series you are doing. Hatteras is the king of classic yachting with modern styles. I love this boat so much. It would be perfect for The great loop.
Born January 1953……..love the live on boats ,guys……nice job.
Nice galley! Good for a weekend stay! 👍👍
or an extended weekend

Good morning!
Love your channels!! Love the Hatteras. I am vintage 1960
Awwww thank you so much!
I was 17, when this Great Hatteras 60 was Built. Some unfortunate things are the air handler under the Dinette; Kids only zone? The overall quality, wood work and upgrades make this one a bargain,, when compared to a new build. The owner's cabin is amazing, Kitchen is fantastic. Range is the only thing lacking on this Wonderful example of American boat building prowess.
Another super Nautistyles tour. .
This is a boat I would feel comfortable on.
Happy to hear
Another fabulous tour you guys! Great boat. Keep them coming! Love you kids. 😍🤩😘
Welcome back!! 💙⚓️
Love this boat. Two engine rooms is a great idea and having a hallway between them to make more space for the master is great so you can travel linger. It would be nice to have a chart to show exactly where this boat has been at since it was put into the water. I bet it has a nice history. I still can't get over the amount of storage it has. Wow...Thank you for posting this video.
I could totally live on that boat!! And it helps that it’s affordable!! Love you both!! Thank you for sharing!!
1971 here👋 This one is quite lovely and so well maintained! The price is right.
my bestie is a 71er
@@NautiStyles best year ever😊

I agree with some of the other comments, it's super nice to see you show a passion with a boat of this age. It's still a beauty and I would love to own her.
I was born in 1964 and I'm extremely jealous of how good it looks 😩 😊😅❤
No need for jealousy Brian lol
Just beautiful and so clean for a 1978 yacht. I could see myself living on this yacht full time.
I was born in 1979. In my opinion this boat is like me. A bit used, but still in good shape. 😁😉
🤣😜🤪👍💙
Born a long time ago. 1951 but I am so young at heart.
That’s all what counts
Great Tour of the Yacht! Loved the ole school style with all the wood it's a nice touch! It amazes me how people take so good care of their yachts in this day and age. :)
Thanks for watching! 🙏🏻💙⚓️
What a nice, well kept vessel! I can certainly envision living on something like this full time! Thanks for the awesome tour!
