Thank you kindly 🙂 The F-35 is way ahead of its time, a real beauty! Thanks for checking out the video and leaving a comment! You are much appreciated! 😀👍
Great stuff Trevor. I especially like the scratch-build 'actuatory stuff' (a technical term) on the 3 Bearing Swivel Duct. That really brought it to life. And, on behalf of all little styrene men the world over, thankyou for leaving his feet on.
Thanks very much, Alon! I should consult you about the technical terms before compiling any videos. "Actuatory stuff"? LOL, I wasn't sure if you were pulling my leg, but it does sound like something an engineer would say. But "3 Bearing Swivel Duct" sounds so cool that it almost makes me want to re-upload the video where I use that phrase at least five times! I honestly had the Exacto blade right up to the pilot's feet, then I chickened out and decided there had to be a better way, haha. Thanks so much for watching!
Bonjour Jean Marc :-) Thank you very much for your kind words. The F-35 is a true marvel of engineering, and this kit was a lot of fun to build! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment!
when you look inside it is an amazingly complex cocktail of engine , liftfan , ducting , gear bays , weapons bays , oh yes , and cockpit it;s amazing it all works on this stovol version !!
Thanks very much, Mark. To say she's a remarkable aircraft is an understatement! I've just finished watching your Type-69 II build, Holy cow, the weathering you did is phenomenal! Thanks for watching and commenting, as always it's immensely appreciated! - Trevor
@@OstrichLongneck you are too kind . I'm equally awestruck when I see aircraft models such as your f35. Being messy is much easier than the perfection aircraft demand
Once again, great video. I like the way you walk the viewer through the process. This is a very nice model and the build looks very challenging with a satisfying result. I will eventually buy the Kitty Hawk version (my first from this company).
Thanks very much for your kind comment :-) I love Kittyhawk models, and was bummed when they went out of business last year. I hope you have as much fun with the build as I did 🙂
@@OstrichLongneck My kit arrived from China today! I watched this video again, and I will begin the process by studying the instructions. Maybe someday I will have my own RUclips channel...
@@blackthorne1497 Nice 😃👍 It's a good move to go through the instructions first, as some parts need to be painted before assembly. I like to paint as many of the smaller things while they are still on their sprues, when possible. Good luck with the build - I'm sure you'll ace it. Remember to add some extra support on the upper hull, that joint where the nasty seam line appeared, and your F35 will turn out way better than mine! You should maybe take some footage while you build, then you can think about posting it on RUclips afterwards. I'll even be your first subscriber! Enjoy! This is a nice kit of one incredible aircraft!
Great video Trevor! For a beginner modeler like me, your commentary accompanying the actual builds as well as the description of your handling of some of the difficulties provide a wealth of education for me. I hope to become as adept as you sometime in the future. I'm currently working on a Hasegawa MV22 Osprey. I would definitely want to try my hand on the F35 Lightning sometime later on. More power and I look forward to seeing more videos from you!
Thanks very much, Johnny 🙂 I really appreciate your kind words. I'm a bit of a weekend model builder, so the builds do take a while, and aren't always 100% perfect - actually they're never perfect, haha. I learnt most of my tips and tricks from RUclips, so you're definitely in the right place! There's a really nice group of guys at Hobby Link International that range from beginners to super-pro's, and a great place to hang out. If I'm not building models, I'm usually checking out their builds or posting on their forums. They have a cool RUclips channel, too. I built the Italeri Osprey myself, but I've heard that the Hasegawa kit is way better. So you picked the perfect kit to be one of your starting build projects! A freaking amazing aircraft too, I might add! Good luck with the build! I'd really love to see how she turns out. I'm sure you're going to nail this one! 😀👍
Great job on the Lightning II, looks amazing. I had so many problems with mine, had to put it on the shelf for a while. Yesterday i took it back off the shelf and will give it another attempt. Thanks for all the building and painting tips.
Thanks for your kind words :-) They are much appreciated. The kit did have a few issues, but it was a fun build. Sometimes it's good to shelve a model for a bit, as one can tackle it afresh with new ideas. Good luck with the build - I'm sure it's going to turn out spectacularly!
Hi Tim :-) The next one should be up in about a week or so. A Su-27 with arctic blizzard camo. December and January were a bit hectic, as locums are scarce, but things are slowly returning to normal. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Highly appreciated! - Trevor
The only thing that sucks about the three types Kitty Hawk made was, there's no variant to the landing gears. Why do they insist on keeping these things positioned for the floor when they were made to fly?
Hi guys , serious question ..........do you ever use Johnsons clear on canopies ?? I wondered because we are having very strong sunlight in UK (unusual !) and I noticed several of my canopies are going cloudy !!
Hi Fred, yup I do use Johnson's clear when a canopy needs a bit of TLC. I had to import it from the USA via Ebay, as it's not available locally. I haven't noticed any cloudiness, to be honest, but the canopies do become yellowed after a couple of years. It makes them look tinted, so I don't mind too much, but cloudiness sounds a bit scary - especially after all the effort one puts into the cockpit to make it look as good as possible. I hope they haven't changed the formulation or something. I'll ask around the forums if anyone else is experiencing a similar issue. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for visiting our channel, by the way 🙂 Much appreciated!
I invite all of you to come to America and witness, THE ABOSOLUTE SHITSHOW of a fight that is....F-35 vs. A-10!!! Well the only thing with more popcorn popping fun is possibly a erupting volcano...... 10/10 build btw :D
That would be a dream come true :-) To see those two in a combat scenario would be mind-blowing. When we were in New York last year, a couple of Raptors did a routine fly-by, and I almost creamed myself as I watched them do a couple of passes. A combat simulation would really be 100% more spectacular!
@@OstrichLongneck Well when I say F-35 vs. A-10 I mean the big fight as to whether or not to RETIRE the A-10 as the primary close air support attacker. It's been a huge fight among the brass in the Air Force, and it's even got bad enough to involve members of congress. The primary argument is that the F-35 would preform better IF they do not have air superiority in a theater. As to the F-22, I've been going to air shows so long I remember when the Blue Angels were flying A-4s. So I've seen everything fly. I did get to see a F-22 in a Air show about ten years ago...AND WOW to put it bluntly, I THOUGHT THE THING WAS GOING TO CRASH, but no, it was it's basic maneuvers. It did maneuvers I've NEVER seen another fighter do.....no wonder it's so expensive :D
@@beanhavok2287 Oh LOL, I get it now :-) Sometimes I'm a bit slow on the uptake! I was wondering how anyone would pit the Warthog against the Lightning in some bizarre dogfight, haha! Yup, the poor F-35 is loaded with controversy, but it's an ingeniously high-tech aircraft, so I'm really rooting for it. I've read in a few reports that production costs have come down a lot, and the price tag is looking more attractive. The F-22 is my all time favorite aircraft ever, so I would go nuts to see it put through its paces in real life! I'll bet everyone goes crazy with cheering at those airshows!

What color of line on the engine and the wire is that

How about details wire
@@lawrencetimothylauzon6499 I just used some random colored paints for those 🙂
