I'm beyond happy this exists. My mother bought me this tape when I was a kid and I'm not sure if it's in any of the boxes of stuff in my basement. It's nice to go back in time sometimes.
I used to watch this ALL the time as a kid. Pretty sure my dad got it as a free gift with a subscription to SI or something. Watching it brings me way back. Fond memories. Great find by the original poster.
Thank you so much for posting this. My sister and I watched this VHS several times a day every day when we were kids... Tape is busted and I've been wanting to see it again. Now I can. Thank you.
I didn't even know what I was watching. Thought it was my first time watching this but halfway I realized I rented this, at all places Blockbuster Video when I was a kid. True Story.
I am so glad you posted this. It was like 1 of only a couple vhs movies we had and was 8 when i first watched it, and only stopped when my parents divorced. Dont know what happened to the copy but it brings back so many memories
My mom and I bought this for my grandfather decades ago I still get a kick out of watching it, it's hilarious from start to finish, thanks for posting 😃
Ahh it's so cool to see old baseball. this was a trip down the memories I miss seeing all the chewers an fat lips, baseball was fun back then even to just watch
Catch O' The Day was my favorite chapter to watch. I use to rewind it over and over again! The music was super catchy and the highlights were unbelievable!
Thank you, thank you for uploading this! I watched this all the time when I was a kid. It was my favorite video. I think it was part of a Sports Illustrated promotion. We got my dad a subscription for father's day back in 1989, I believe. This was the free "gift".
Blockbuster lol. I have this tape after renting it a gazillion times. And returning it on a Saturday night was hilarious when people are standing around waiting for a new release to be returned. ''what do ya got? Ballpark bloopers!....oh
oh man thanks for posting this to YT!!! My old man had a subscription to SI since the early 80's so we got all the videos, football phones, etc...this was by far my favorite as sometime i tell friends about those umpire impersonations and could never lead them to a YT link.
I had a slightly different version of this as a kid. Some of the voice-overs were redone (better), and there were a couple extra sections including one called "Reggie at the Bat" which was absolutely amazing. I need to find that version!
Updating the link (previous one removed). Yeah this is the one I had as a kid. Came with a Sports Illustrated subscription. Spent two summers watching it on repeat. ruclips.net/video/9fdERNeEL5M/видео.html
To this day there hasn't been a better blooper than when David Palmer ran to 3rd and tripped himself and fell down and hit his head, looked so painful but hilarious, I enjoyed every second on this video, those were the good ole days
I miss that place SOOOOOOO MUCH!! ESP NOW THAT THE MOVIES THEY PUT OUT ARE all CGI crap and comedies? Ha! If you call Adam Sandler making baby sounds funny. The 80's- late 90's comedy were funny... Now you get one that is funny every 5-7 years... I truly believe the 90's was the last "good" decade:( I don't want to live in a world where everyone if at war/fighting... And throw cops who murder black civilians and a VERY struggling economy with America having Puppets as Presidents... Its a shame:( I'm 35 and I wish I would of been born in the 60's Iv been told I'm an " old soul"
+redcat608 fuck that place, I worked there and they treated employees worse than anywhere I have ever worked, I mean corporate not the actual people working in the store. Painful job experience..
Nice nostalgia for an old Mets fan, seeing Roger McD in a Mets uniform. This video must have been made just before the Mets made another one of their classic bad trades: Lenny Dykstra and Roger to the Phillies for Juan Samuel.
Jon Miller does a heck of a Vin Scully. Like loads of other people, i mustve watched this 500 times as a kid. Theres a #2 on this one. Need to search it out.
Ghoopty you're watching a blooper reel, of course it's gonna seem wackier. You can find funny or goofy moments from modern baseball teams, too, they just don't release compilations films about them anymore. But also, yes, analytics are a thing now, whereas they really weren't before the early 2000s
Fast forward to the year 2023: baseball is all about the analytics. I love the game but baseball has become only about the numbers and not the love of the game itself.
Actually it was in the '80s that fans and players complained about those stadiums. Most were designed in the 50s/60s when baseball was at the peak of its popularity, so I guess they were "acceptable" then for their increased capacity and improved views over the original ballparks, and for their frugality and efficiency.
Actually, you can have 4 outs in a half inning. Senario 1 out 2 or more runners on base. Batter hits a fly ball, and runners tag up to advance. One player leaves the base early. While advancing, the ball is kicked around in the field, one run scores, then another player is trying to advance to another base, but is thrown out. Then, fielding team appeals the playear leaving early, and is rung up. Three outs on the play, catch, tag on the runner advancing and appeal on tag up with no run scored. So technically you can have 8 outs in an inning, if each team does the same senario.

I used to watch this all the time with my next door neighbor as a kid. I remember it all so well.
Me too. My brother and I and the neighbors would watch this so much in the summer months. Great memories.
Lol...I used to watch this over and over as a kid, and apparently a lot of other people did too😁
Just found this. Thx for posting. I watched this everyday on VHS as a 13 year old....no social media or internet, great times
I used to have this movie on video. It’s so funny to watch!
I used to watch this ALL the time as a kid. Pretty sure my dad got it as a free gift with a subscription to SI or something. Watching it brings me way back. Fond memories. Great find by the original poster.
I wore this VHS out as a kid. Thank you!
I used to watch this as a kid so many times I still remember all these clips. So nostalgic
Thank you so much for posting this. My sister and I watched this VHS several times a day every day when we were kids... Tape is busted and I've been wanting to see it again. Now I can. Thank you.

Me too i watched this in the 80’s. The field of bad dreams brought back good times! :)
Me too. Probably once a day for me
I mustve watched this 100 times until the VHS broke .... Field of bad dreams, fucking great
I know
Been looking for this for years. Rewound the part where the ump gets hit in the nuts to classical music a bazillion times.
Watched this time and time again with my cousin and I often come back to watch this before bed
Oh my goodness - I used to have the VHS of this! Now I'm showing it to my 4 year old son and we're having a blast!
Had this VHS decades ago, and was unable to find it since, despite looking. Thanks for posting!
15:06 "The Greatest Show on Turf," about a decade before the Rams adopted it. They were still in L.A.
I didn't even know what I was watching. Thought it was my first time watching this but halfway I realized I rented this, at all places Blockbuster Video when I was a kid. True Story.

I watched this more times than I could count when I was kid.

That Jose Oquendo guy was friggen amazing!
He popped a guy up pitching then somehow ran the outfield to catch the fly ball!
Wow!
ground ball to shortstop ... Oquendo has it ... over to Oquendo at first ... one away.
Great! Why alotta kids in the70's and 80's fell in love with the game! Long live the Pete rose era.
Excellent 80s baseball video
My mom and I bought this for my grandfather decades ago I still get a kick out of watching it, it's hilarious from start to finish, thanks for posting 😃
That was a fun walk down memory lane. Thanks a ton for posting this!!!
Memories memories memories. Ive been able to find maybe half of the videos I used to watch as a kid on RUclips. Very grateful each time I find one.
Thank you for putting this on RUclips!!!!
Thank you so much for bringing back such a great memory I had watching this with my brother when we were kids
This is incredible. I love it! Thanks for uploading
i'm not into baseball, but back in the mid-late 80's, these baseball blooper shows were always the best on a Saturday afternoon. Good Times.
yeah they were fun to watch.
Great to see this up on YT. I was the narrator...many, many years ago.
Very cool. I loved this video and watched it a ton growing up. It just popped into my head while watching Ken Burns: Baseball.
I still laugh hard when I see the Phillies runner trip over 3rd base and fall on the side of his face/head. Good God!!! lol
Classic. I don't know how many times I watched this tape as a kid.
Thank you, thank you for uploading this! I watched this all the time when I was a kid. It was my favorite video. I think it was part of a Sports Illustrated promotion. We got my dad a subscription for father's day back in 1989, I believe. This was the free "gift".
Same exact thing. It was only Friday morning nostalgia that brought me here.
Fun fact: the guy who voiced Lion-O in Thundercats did the voiceover for this.
When the cable was out, we watched this on repeat.
HAHAHA I forgot all about that blockbuster commercial, oh man the memories, Saturday morning cartoons. The 80's ruled.
Blockbuster lol. I have this tape after renting it a gazillion times. And returning it on a Saturday night was hilarious when people are standing around waiting for a new release to be returned. ''what do ya got? Ballpark bloopers!....oh
My neighbor let me borrow this when we were kids. I must have watched it through like 500 times. And I didn't even like baseball haha. Oh, the 90's.
Great stuff. Nice seeing some of those guys again.
Ahhh I had this movie! Watched it all the time as a kid.
Same thing with
me!
I still have this VHS... classic! LOL
ME TOO!
lol
matt fahringer HOW do you have this on DVD?
A better question....do you have a VHS player?
This brought back some memories. When I was a kid I had this tape and ghostbusters on VHS. Needless to say I watched this a lot.
We used to watch these videos in baseball camp back in the 90s...best part of the day
I remember getting this from a thrift store as a kid. Never watched baseball, but loved this video
9:44 this was the only thing I could remember from this video from watching it dozens of times as a kid. So glad its on here.
HOLY SHIT I've been looking for clips from this video for bloody ever. We had this on VHS when I was a kid and there's some great stuff on it.
Pretty sure my dad had this on vhs back in the day...the 80s....love it....GO BREWERS 2017
I watched this soooooo many times in the 90s. All the music is wired in my brain.
oh man thanks for posting this to YT!!! My old man had a subscription to SI since the early 80's so we got all the videos, football phones, etc...this was by far my favorite as sometime i tell friends about those umpire impersonations and could never lead them to a YT link.

Wow, I remember this. Not sure how I got it, but lost count of the number of times I watched it. Mark Grant impersonating the umpires was awesome

I watched this to go to sleep every night when I was a little kid
To this day there hasn't been a better blooper than when David Palmer ran to 3rd and tripped himself and fell down and hit his head, looked so painful but hilarious, I enjoyed every second on this video, those were the good ole days
On the Phillies highlight film that year, they played the Palmer clip over the theme from the Dick Van Dyke Show. It was hilarious
watched this so many times as a kid! oquendo throws em yout
What a play by Oquendo!
R.I.P Blockbuster video

Hahahahahahahaha the best funny video of bloopers in baseball :'))))) amazing n.n
This is amazing
I loved this movie
Jon Miller does a heck of a Vin Scully. Like loads of other people, i mustve watched this 500 times as a kid.
Theres a #2 on this one. Need to search it out.
Good memories, vhs baby
I never had this one, but I have one from the Baseball Hall of Fame called "Baseball's Craziest Moments" that used a lot of bloopers from this.
Dang Blockbuster. I wish we still had that species. They are extinct. So sad that all the hunters killed them off.
what do u mean
^😂
They coulda had Netflix ...
I was ur 1 millionth viewer, congrats 👏🏻
I love Ozzie Smith’s backflip
The Compelling Lewellyn or The Amazing Costello?
this is so funny good job
@19:32 "And if you don't like Pee Wee Herman, you need to be checked!" haha - I actually thinks that Tim McCarver who apparently really like Pee Wee
I owned this on VHS holy crap!!!
good ole days
14:08 my favorite part when i was a youngin' watching this on VHS.
Thinking about this blooper is what got me to search for this tape!
at 9:20, I think there's a rule against base coaches touching the runners when the play is on. Should the runner be called out or sent back?
I like the one where the car runs somebody over. And the tiger mauls someone. And then that dude's head pops off, that's awesome
Is it my imagination or did baseball used to be more wacky & light-hearted? It seems to be more serious & analytical these days....
Ghoopty you're watching a blooper reel, of course it's gonna seem wackier. You can find funny or goofy moments from modern baseball teams, too, they just don't release compilations films about them anymore. But also, yes, analytics are a thing now, whereas they really weren't before the early 2000s
It's more analytical because of the internet. Sports showcase a lot more data now because of the net.
4 years after your comment, nearly all sports have turned to politics. The NFL seems to have been the first to cave but now the rest are following.
Fast forward to the year 2023: baseball is all about the analytics. I love the game but baseball has become only about the numbers and not the love of the game itself.
It amazes me what was acceptable for baseball stadiums back in the 80s.
Actually it was in the '80s that fans and players complained about those stadiums.
Most were designed in the 50s/60s when baseball was at the peak of its popularity, so I guess they were "acceptable" then for their increased capacity and improved views over the original ballparks, and for their frugality and efficiency.
Not to mention the haircuts!!!
Kids have better fields to play on now days.
Actually, you can have 4 outs in a half inning. Senario 1 out 2 or more runners on base. Batter hits a fly ball, and runners tag up to advance. One player leaves the base early. What was in old boys bat that broke at around 21:28 ?
Looked like sand.
It was a weighted bat for warming up in the on deck circle.
HOLY CRAP!!! Tim McGraw looks just like his dead beat dad Tug.
+bigoldinosaur Tug didn't even know he had a bastard son. When Tug was gonna take a parentrnity test he saw the resembilance and said, he's mine and didn't even take it.
Fanik10 Well there's your answer right there, he had a "bastard son."
Blockbuster? Wow, this was a while ago!
©1989
35:07 he didn't even hit the base haha he like tripped over the air I guess haha!!!
These goofy ass music tracks are hitting such a nostalgic nerve!
These are not baseball bloopers at all they are all one of the greatest plays

hehehe
