Bought my mgf vvc with 61 k on the clock 2 years ago. I was told after buying as a bid on eBay. That it had been sat for 4 years...now just over 2 years on, it has 89200, and still runs like clock work. Most reliable car I have ever had. Reliability issues? I think not. Also sailed right through last mot. Not bad for 18 year old rover. Beat that, Elise man.
Hgf on the mgf is really overstated. You will always hear about all the bad ones but never the countless thousands that may of lived for quite some time and perhaps still do. I have a mgf and it never overheats even in traffic.
Mine is on a 51 plate, 44,000 miles and going strong. One of the best fun cars I have ever had. Going to keep this one till the wheels fall off! Love it!
There doesn't seem to be a clutch footrest...and as an average height woman i struggle with being cramped behind the steering wheel . Nonetheless I adore mine
i just swapped a jaguar xj8 3.2 sport for one of these :O the jag was a total heap i bought it for £400 and drove it for 3 months and it was sat for over a year since it failed its mot (3 pages of problems :D) im just hoping that the mg isnt as bad and i can sell it when the weather gets better i havent even driven it yet and have only seen it once in the compound with my other cars. but ill take it for a spin soon it might even be the VVC model who knows :D
how can you be fishing for the brake pedal if it is higher than the clutch and the accelerator! fair enough if it was lower than the other two then yes you would be fishing for it!

some right ones on here, the mgf or tf can be a fantastic car if you look after it, and maintane it, mine is as strong as an ox

Hell No. My 1999 MGF was the worst lemon I ever had. It was fun to drive, but it was a nightmare to maintain.

Had a great engine... let down by all the stupid head gasket failure problems!!

he doesnt mean fishing for it because it should be low fishing for it is a saying meaning just trying to find it.
I have just recently got one and must admit that the brake is higher for some reason. Feels very unusual, as for fishing possibly not.

Used mg f is usually 3 times cheaper than the mx5, at least here in poland

No. by an Elise instead it has the same engine and its more reliable.
that is bull the electrics are a nightmare,i know i have owned three of them. the mgtf outrates it 10 to 1
The Elise is several times more expensive these days
