Thank you for the comment. Making content on Rovers and MGs does not draw a big audience but I am passionate about these cars and enjoy sharing them - it really is great to know people watch and enjoy. The Trophy 160 is an interest and quite bespoke car, and whilst they are a bit of a hard ride, they're great fun. Thanks for watching, I hope you stay tuned.
Nice video, and great to see an enthusiast who loves and appreciates their F as much as I do. It's a stunning example. I've had an F or TF in my collection since 2002, a 2001 MGF 1.8MPi in Tahiti blue, a 2005 TF-135 (one of the last off the line) in pearl black, and my current TF-160 (also pearl black) which I've had for 15 years now and am currently recommissioning for the summer. I've never seen a Trophy 'in the flesh', living in Ireland where Fs and TFs are now as rare as a hen's teeth. I'd love to know if any Trophies were sold here or imported at some point. Anyway, keep enjoying and loving and posting. Regards, Jonathan
Thanks for the comment Jonathan, it is great to know you enjoyed the video and like my MGF... which I love! Well done for keeping Fs and TFs for over 20yrs, I can understand why you've kept one around as they're so much fun, proper sports cars. Good luck with your TF-160 (nice car!). I hope you stay tuned to my Channel, thank you for watching.
Enjoyed watching! 🤩 I'm from Germany, have a yellow Trophy since 16 years now, enjoyed every km with this great little car and looking forward already to the next spring, because currently its in the garage, not driven in winter time with salt on the roads...
Thanks for the comment, I appreciate you sharing your thoughts on the MGF... it does look great and has aged really nicely. Whilst I am certain I will continue to 'flirt' with the idea of selling it, I doubt it'll be going anywhere for the medium/long-term. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the comment, great to know you enjoyed the video. I really like the MGF in Trophy Blue, and can totally understand why you love the car... I love mine. Keep enjoying it and thank you for watching.
Im 50miles away from 50K on my BRG F owned for 20yrs...just taxed it again after a 7month lay up (have an MR2 VX220 MX5 etc too)....first blat out last night...made me smile.. on paper/spec/age/its peers it shouldnt really be good but the sum of it's parts and no frills ..makes such a rewarding drive on a British Summer's evening.
Thanks for the comment... passing 50K miles is uncomfortable, but these cars are made to be driven and enjoyed. Well done for owning your MGF for 20yrs, I can completely understand why you'd keep it for two decades. You've a nice collection of roadsters there; I have owned an MR2, MX-5 and VX220 myself in the past, plus a Boxster and BMW Z3 & 4... my favourite, and the one I have kept, is my F Trophy 160. Thank you for watching, I appreciate you taking the time and hope you subscribe to see more on my cars.
Great video, thank you. Been waiting for this one. Your right hardly ever see these on You Tube videos. Your car looks great as well. I have a Trophy Blue one and love it as well. Had it for about 8 years and still love driving it.
Thanks for the comment, I am so glad you enjoyed the video and appreciate your patience... it takes me a while! Well done and congratulations on owning a Trophy Blue 'F Trophy 160... I love the car in the blue, stunning. We've owned our MGs for the same period and it's good to know you still enjoy driving it, just as I do. Keep enjoying the car and keep tuning into my Channel, I appreciate it.
Hi Andy sorry late viewing but a great video as ever and a wonderful example of the MGF trophy I remember seeing them on the road as prototypes round by us and also early models at the family day and the yellow was always my favourite and I think the MGF looks better than the later TF and it hasn’t dated but got better with time That looks and sounds fantastic and can see why you wanted that one and enjoy it! It was a shame about the pride of longbridge was looking forward to it and really the weather was shocking we had about a month or more of rain it’s been a shocking spring here in the midlands. All the best to you Daniel
Thanks for the comment Daniel and, as always, for watching the video. Must have been great to see the development of the MGF Trophy from prototype to production, and I do agree about how the MGF has aged. They are still relatively cheap sports cars and it'll be interesting to see what happens to them over time. Fair to say I was gutted about Pride Of Longbridge being cancelled, particularly as I had readied the 600Ti for this year's gathering. Oh well, we cannot help the weather and I'll be ready again for next year which, of course, is the 20th anniversary of MG Rover closing the doors. I had wanted to take my MG ZT260 next year, but the 600Ti has now not been... plus I have the 200Vi and 800 Vitesse. Big decisions for 2025! Thanks for the support. 👍
Thanks for the comment and for watching this video. The TF is a smart looking car but I agree, the F is a true classic these days and I adore mine. Thank you for watching.
Wow Trevor, thanks for the kind comment. It's great to know you enjoyed the video and like the MG, I appreciate it. Look forward to hearing from you on future videos.
Thanks for another good video, Im mainly a Ford enthusiast but have an interset in all cars, so I must admit I do make an effort to watch all of your videos regardless of what car they feature. Thanks again and nice car 👍
Thanks for the comment, great to know you enjoyed the video. I really do appreciate you taking the time to watch all of my videos. The Ford features always do best and, similar to you, I am a Ford fan at heart, with a bit of MG Rover as well, but truth be told I like and have an interest in all cars. I know the Ford videos will draw the biggest audiences, but I try to feature all of my cars and things that interest me in the hope people will watch. This MGF video is not going to be a high performer on the Channel but I am glad I made it and it's great to know people have enjoyed it. Thanks for watching and stay tuned, look forward to hearing from you on the next.
Thanks for the comment Cecilia, and for sharing a few photos of your car on Facebook... car looks great. Keep enjoying your car and thank you for watching my video.
Ah, so that's where our D&C cops are hiding! 😊 Nice to see and share some enthusiasm on our (mostly) crappy SW roads, though I have made a note and will try the roads you've mentioned.
Ha! Thanks for the comment Chris and glad to have caught a rare sighting of the D&C Police in the wild, as opposed to being parked on the flyovers of the A38! Thanks for watching the video, I hope you do get to drive both Dartmoor and the St Just to St Ives roads... both are very picturesque.
Thanks for the comment and kind words about the car. I’m not expecting this video to be too popular, but hoping it gives the few of us who are MGF Trophy fans something to watch featuring these great little roadsters. Thanks for watching.

Great video Andy, i keep looking at MGF's since buying the rv8, they're really good value atm and tbh probably more useable than the rv8, btw if you think it's scenic there you need to have a drive up north 😉
Thanks for the comment Dave, I appreciate you watching. MGFs certainly feel good value at the moment and whilst they might very well be more "useable" than your RV8, they are not a patch on your car... keen to see it one day. I've only ever had a ride in an MG TF 160 - I was given a ride home on a blind date. It was nearly new in 2004 and I was struck by its harsh ride and unpleasant din from the engine/exhaust. I didn't see her again!
Thanks for the comment and for sharing your story. To be honest though, it sounds like you were onto a winner… a girl who’s into cars!! 😂 I hope the harshness of the MG was not the only reason you didn’t go on date two. Thanks for watching the video.
I machined the gears for the pg1 gearbox which went into the mgf so be careful with that box 😂. Fun fact every mgf gearbox went into a soundproof room and were tested for noise.I can not remember the dB level but the ones that failed the test ended up in other cars.
Thanks for the comment and for sharing your history with the MGF. Fascinating fact about the sound testing of the gearboxes. As for my gearbox, it’s strong so you must have done good work. 👍 Thanks for watching.
Cornwall scenic roads for leisurely driving, as for making progress and honing your driving skills for many miles not the odd section you need to look to other Counties
Thanks for the comment. As you say, we have some picturesque roads for pleasure drives, with the odd section to throw your car / bike into some corners, but nothing too challenging. Thankfully, with the exception of my two Focus RSs, all of my cars are fairly pedestrian when compared with modern performance cars... so I get to make the most of what roads we have.
