Of all avgn episode i've watched i feel like this one is thé most overrated épisode in the entier series
What the Fuck?!? The game called the girl Jane, but Angry Video Game Nerd called her "Kate"!!! *WRONG NAME!!!*
The actress who played Jane said she was helping a friend when she made this and never thought it would see the light of day (it was like 15-20 years old by the time she was asked about it). So I guess it was a single person she knew just making some strange thing. I guess the "collage experiment" comment he made was pretty close to what it was.

The cheesy way the boss says "take your damn clothes off" had me laughing more than anything else in this. The whole game is stupid and cheesy, but that quote was just ridiculous, lol. 😂

Fun fact:
The founder of EA came up with the 3DO. After it failed he went back to EA for a couple of years. After that he became a professor at some college. According to one of his students, the 3DO is his biggest regret.
Another fun fact:
Metal Gear Solid was originally going to be a 3DO game cause it apparently had a decent following in Japan. But Kojima and other Konami staff thought the system was too expensive for the average consumer to get their hands on.

Since I found your channel, this is one of the reactions I have been waiting for the most. This has to be one of my absolute favorite AVGN episodes. It's not for the episode itself, (it's just standard, regular AVGN) it's because the 'game' he's reviewing is so surreal! This is prime reaction material; I love to show people this video and just watch their brain melt.
In my opinion, this 'stillie' (thanks Caddy) is in the same category of 'good-bad' movies like Birdemic and Sharknado. It's a true garbage game, but fascinating and entertaining as hell.

It looks like it was just made in half a day, like the Sharknado movies are made shitty on purpose and filmed in a couple days, but I cannot imagine why would anyone put out something like this. There are at least 9 characters and voices so that many people must have seen this and be ok with it omg x_x
5:55 it was actually just a few days ago that I realised - "oh, the cars and the panda are just this guys trippy dream!"
Haven't seen anyone else say that, so I guess the developer intentions wasn't clear.
I mean, the intro is bad enough. But they could have at the very least placed the panda in a dream cloud.
The real question we should be asking - what kind of drugs does John do to be dreaming of this?
And yeah, I do wish I knew what the developers were thinking. I'm not sure we currently have the answer to that.
But, considering we did get these answers for Action 52, Superman 64, Hong Kong 97, and that Jurassic Park game, I'm sure we can find them eventually.
You know, I find it ironic. The quote "What were they thinking?" was just used for comedy, like a rhetorical question.
I don't think anyone in 2004-2006 ever expected those questions to get actual answers from developers.
But yeah, I wish I knew more of how this game was made.

Yeah, i agree with you at the end, this game i NEVER considered this as a game, that garbage was like a crappy DVD before the DVD started using in the early 2000s.

Ironically, you HAVE to pick the 'The hairball takes advantage of the situation!!' choice in order to progress the story! The others where Jane gets turned away or gets the job from Thresher both lead to a game over so ye really have no other choice...and note too that the score drastically reduces to -30000...

You've *Absolutely NO Idea* how glad I am I *NEVER* HEARD OF THE 3DO as a child, or *Ever* until I saw AVGN's review of it!! My Childhood, while ruined by incessant yelling, constant groundings for *JUST BEING ME HAVING FUN* and wanting toys I never had the money for... I'm so *INFINITELY* glad I never played that!!!!
The funniest part is that when you choose the interesting option on the PC version, there’s an option that says “You are the definition of loser”, if you click on it, it sends you back to DOS

That Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties game sucks so bad, You know what i would do to that game? Yes, I would break the disc in 2 pieces then burn them to the ground
Unfortunately, it can't be destroyed by conventional weapons, plumbers don't wear ties was forged at mount doom, the materials of which the game is made are so durable that it can only be destroyed in the cracks of the developers ass, where it was originally made, even if you made it that far, it's guarded by "The eye of LJN tower, spotting good movies, and turning them into terrible movie based video games, it's a risky journey to say the least, hope your prepared, 👍

The game was originally gonna be given the classification of AO, but the scenes where you have to be 18 or older to see were re-cut and added screen filters in which the game ended up with the classification of 17 so it can be put on store shelves. But the game was a total flop and gained cult status.

The whole daisy chain controller thing was actually pretty funny in a two player game. If you were loosing or something you could just unplug the second controller just to be a dick while the other guy's playing. I actually used to own a 3DO and it was a decent console if you could afford one, and despite its price it was still cheaper then a Neo Geo which was an excellent console in its own right. Most of the games I had were good, and Im glad I never played this piece of crap game. Though I did play it on a 3DO emulator on my PC which was one of worst mistakes I ever made in my life ill admit.

Plumbers Don't Wear Ties is an adult-oriented "romantic comedy" graphic adventure game/dating sim developed and published by Kirin Entertainment for the 3DO Interactive Multiplayer. Although the game did have a PC version, it had very limited distribution and was published by United Pixtures itself. The game stars Edward J. Foster and Jeanne Basone as John and Jane, respectively; two people who are being pressured by their respective parents to go out and find a spouse. The player's task is to get John and Jane together.
