I know what you mean. I was thinking "he really messed this one up" but then it came to life and turned out beautiful. That could be why some artists don't like to show their paintings until it is finished.

@@dylanperalez3939 Yeah, I've since learned not to. His paintings always come out better than my landscapes, even though I try to copy his techniques. But I do other types of oil paintings, not just landscapes. And some of his techniques are applicable to them. So thanks to Bob, I have sold a couple of my paintings, when I wasn't even trying to sell them. Some friends showed images of them to their friends, and some then asked if I would sell one they liked. I did.

@@Jose07-_213 Not much. I sold them pretty cheap (less than $100 each) because they only took me an hour or two. I like to go fast like Bob ! I don't have the patience to spend weeks or months on a painting.
what i really love is the lack of music and the fact that you can hear every stroke of the brush

I remembered watching him back in the 1980s when I was growing up. I loved all of his videos. Years later I didn't see him on tv anymore. Thanks to youtube. Thank you youtube for bringing all videos of Bob Ross. I watch his videos all the time. It was a tremendous loss when he passed away. I was very sad. May you rest in Heaven peacefully. I'll see you one day. God Bless.

Bob Ross was only 52 when he died. That's how old I am. I still have so many paintings I want to make, and I know Bob did too. Bob was born in 1942, the same year as Joe Biden. Bob should still be alive, painting today.

30-35 years ago at this point, I remember being home sick from school and watching the Joy of Painting. Oddly enough I remember this exact episode. Even odder is RUclips has it as a random recommendation... Amazing that even today, 30 minutes of watching this man paint is enough to remind you that things are going to be ok. Miss you buddy!
I always watched Bob Ross when I was home sick from school and I still do it as an adult. It's just comforting.
All that story and the fact RUclips recommended this to you "randomly" dosen't call your attention? Bob’s voice and his teaching techniques was mesmerizing. He was able to put people watching him in a trance. With his happy little mistakes that we as artist all make, he taught us to be kind to ourselves, little critters and use our mistakes as a added interest to our paintings. Although he was not a “professional” high priced artist, he gave those of us watching him a chance to escaped from reality and the world we are living in and created our own masterpieces. You were one in a billion and blessed our world with your presence and teachings. RIP Bob Ross 🙏🎨

he brings so much happy memories to me when i see this, my wife and I would spend a quiet Tuesday afternoon listening to him as well as watching him, his voice was peaceful and his painting superb, sadly, he passed away and so did my wife.

Danny it’s not easy to stay at home as it seems, especially for people who suffer of depression or are used to stay away from home most of the day because work or studies.
In my case I used my busy routine not to be depressed.

@@tommillard4193 Its the second time he's made the painting. He would do the original painting for an episode over the course of a couple days, then he'd bring it in for taping and keep it off screen for him to look at as a reference. Sure he was skilled, but he's not doing it all on a creative whim.

For me, it's not about learning how to paint, it's about watching something beautiful being created out of thin air.
This is the first time I've watched a Bob Ross video and I am blown away by the serenity of his voice and nuanced pearls of philosophic wisdom such as, "Wherever you want it to go, that's where it should go ..." Fricking' awesome. Subbing now 🥰

Something that amazes me about rewatching these episodes now is how different the world was when I was a kid watching Bob Ross live on TV. Going to the library for picture books about mountains if there were none in your area, calling your local TV station about what shows you want to see… these are largely artifacts of the past now.
I do enjoy our modern age and I’ve adapted to it quite well because I grew up alongside all the changes, but it’s a touch sobering to realize that children today will have little to no concept of the era in which I spent most of my early childhood. There were some good things back there that I fear may have been lost to the sands of time.

Philip Martin Some people can't relax before sleeping and therefore need to be calmed down. There can be many causes of this. One of which is to be stressed. Sometimes it can also be about the thought activity. I could specify more if needed.
