I really appreciate the kind words. I'm a HUGE fan of your playing (and the channel). I'm often here for the Friday Hang (OHHH YURRR). A lot of your subscribers have mentioned Shannon Larkin. When I was 16 years old, I opened up for Shannon. Seeing him live changed everything for me. I've mentioned him in practically every interview I've ever done. He's even invited me to several Godsmack shows, and we've hung out backstage. I say this all the time, but meeting guys like Shannon, Portnoy, Lombardo, Hoglan, has honestly been the highlight of my life. All the other stuff is just "nice." LOL Thank you again for the very kind words. It really means a lot. 🙏
Next level optical awesomeness, and a visual masterclass in stick tricks and percussion related sleight of hand on a world class level, and I'm a huge fan of Shannon Larkin, Rikki Rockett, Tommy Lee, and many other legendary Sultans of the Stick Trick. But I would be willing to bet that on many occasions Shannon Larkin has spent many hours watching video of Steve Moore and saying to himself " DAMN! I have GOT to learn how to do that!!" 🥁🤘
I think the most impressive part is how tight he is, even when he plays like that. And the sound itself remains the same. Close your eyes and you won't even know the guy is going crazy. It's insane.
There is a video of Portnoy playing with him and they alternate parts. I know Portnoy is not one of the best, but he has always been a very solid drummer, who is very clean and always keeps time. Anyways, Portnoy was trying to imitate him, but Portnoy lost time several times and was not very clean. So I know you did not need a reason to know that is very hard, but there is another one. When you see someone such as Portnoy, attempt somethign like that and struggle, you realize how very difficult it truly is.
I drove 2 hours to see him perform at a car show. Literally the nicest guy you could ever meet. Such a great time to watch him play and then get to chat with him after the show
Same lol 🤣 RIP legend Chris Especially at this part 4:30 I can't unsee that lol he literally turns into Chris Farley at this part with the hair flinging and stuff
I've seen a bunch of his videos. I don't think the audience has any comprehension of just how much concentration and talent is involved in what the drummer is doing. If they did, he'd get a standing ovation. To do all those tricks AND keep perfect timing is just insane. It's hard enough not rushing a song live. This is a guy that has mastered his craft through years and years of dedication and practice.
This is exactly what I came to say. The dude is beat perfect and just having a blast screwing around. Immense skill from this guy, honestly. It's one thing to screw around, it's another to still crush it technically while doing so.

this guy was one of my main inspirations as a drummer...when I played with many bands years before, I would start doing the same crazy things like him, such as standing up while playing, doing weird and funny movements while playing difficult drumming parts, and people would be a lot more entertained than with other bands...I wish I will be as lucky as you to meet him one day
The master level stick tricking is one thing. Like this is by far the best showmanship I've ever seen. But to do it in perfect time and still maintain dynamic fluidity is almost unfathomable. This dude is absolutely unreal.
Dude! just discovered your channel and am binging your videos. You always focus your videos on things that are uplifting and positive and I sure appreciate watching it. I love that he was recorded and went viral. He really deserved it. I tend to mix in comedy at my live shows and some stick tricks but Steve is next level, like.. 100 levels... Did you know that he was in 'The Office' too? ;)

Steve's playing is superb. His use of the Moeller and Gladstone techniques is phenomenal. I have shown this video to many students and explained that to perform at this level takes immense skill.

Let's give credit to the rest of the band too. Their cover is actually very good. The singers voice is clean, the bass player is rocking his job. But wow that drummer.🤯🤯🤯
He's really something else isn't he? I would definitely go and see this guys just for the comedy drummer, their entertainment value is right off the scale!
I would definitely hire this band to play at my wedding (if that ever happens). Then during one of their breaks, I could just walk up to the drummer with my snare and ask him for his signature. Just let him sign his name right on the head, then save that beater head in a shadow box to save the memory.

It's hard to tell exactly, but that looks like a solid 8 to 10 feet or maybe even a smidge more between them... To do that during a performance and not have either guy make a single mistake, wow. Props to the whole band really. I'm about as hard to impress (It's a hell of a thing being a crabby old bugger! :P ) as they come and that entertained me and then some. I love this guy! You know you've made it when you're in an episode of; 'The Office (US)' as well as being like that drunk uncle at a wedding, but instead of starting a fight he gets on stage and unleashes the power of his hand poles and rocks the house down!
Shannon Larkin plays in a similar fashion... but in the Godsmack Changes dvd he says that his playing style was heavily influenced by Animal from The Muppets. Maybe this guy here was influenced by both Animal and Shannon Larkin. Don't quote me on any of this bahab info because I might be wrong to some degree or another.

And outstanding reaction video too. :)
Dude grew up with Animal from the Muppets as his mentor. Love the content glad YT recommended you. Much love from all the way down here in Ecuador.
I've been a fan of the Mad Drummer for over 12 years. One of the greatest to ever sit behind a kit
I love the fact you and Steve don't take it to seriously as most musicians are to serious needs to have fun more
I just stumbled across this video and it’s great with your reviews.
10:14 this guy really is amazing tbh.
Drumming Level: EASY MODE
Performing Level: HELL MODE
I love how his bass drums are cross-eyed........
Haha never noticed that ever till you mentioned it..
That's a corny but cool Ludwig kit. He's got a lot of extra pieces for the thing it looks like.
Those stick tricks are so smooth haha Totally mesmerizing 😂 Also, holy shit that band is actually crazy good. Double Trumpets?!
I've watched this guy multiple times at Knobels in PA. He's amazing to watch live lol.
😮😮 so talented..!!!🥰❤️🤘🏼
I'm sure everyone knows, but pretty sure this drummer is the regular for this band. Which makes him even more awesome.
There are times when I think he might actually be Animal from the Muppets.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Many people are good musicians. But very few have this kind of top tier stagecraft.
@ 4:17 do you remember Revenge of the Nerds? Lewis and Gilbert playing the Roland sound boards. Classic
I love this guy! You know you've made it when you're in an episode of; 'The Office (US)' as well as being like that drunk uncle at a wedding, but instead of starting a fight he gets on stage and unleashes the power of his hand poles and rocks the house down!
The real life animal on the drums.
steve is literally living the dream!!!!
Not sure if you saw or not but he has since commented on this video himself, and has confirmed that Shannon Larkin was one of his biggest inspirations!
I'm actually glad to hear this news. But thanks for the update by the way.
11:21 when the two drum line majors end up in a band together
Definitively the Most Awesome Ultime Entertaining Rock n'Roll Band EVER!
Steve is a "True Legend" to those that know, and a "total loss" for those that don't..
Looks like Percussion Tourette's.. entertaining AF
Can we talk about how beautiful that kit is… love your reactions lol…
Dude is such a showmen
