Oddly enough, the algorithm actually didn’t fail me this time. I recently saw you make this, and didn’t exactly care enough to check back on it. But here we are.
You can also dry/dehydrate the apple pieces and you get candied apples! Bake on the lowest setting your oven can go to until either chewy or crispy. Extra good: Add some lemon or citric acid, so it's a bit like sour apple candy :)
In Korea they make a 'tea' from citrus fruit. You take a fruit like oranges or lemons and slice them super thin *without* peeling them. Then you put them in a jar layering fruit slices with raw honey. The citrus acid will react with the honey making is run like water. Leave that overnight and put a spoon full in milk or water. It works cold or hot and its surprisingly tasty.
I've been making some of these as well and was considering using my last apple in the fridge to make this. The fact that it's your favorite so far has convinced me to go ahead with it.
great in oatmeal. add raisins and the yeast on them (white powder looking stuff) will ferment giving you a barm for use in brewing apple wine, which is awesome.

Mmm. Maybe you could just buy the apples that are going to be eaten/used. Also, apples aren't usually kept in the fridge, and cold apples aren't appetizing. Maybe keeping them in plain view will make them more available for snacking. And you can use them in smoothies for texture, fiber and general goodness. 👍
@@emaarredondo-librarian Personally, I prefer my apples cold. They taste a bit sweeter for me. My husband and children don't really have a preference, so I put a couple plus 2 extra in the fridge and the rest in a bowl. It's also possible that they need to try a different variety of apples. Oleo Saccharum. Best way to make syrups if you have the time to wait. Basically the sugar pulls all the oils out of the fruit to get a hugely aromatic and flavorful syrup.
