Not 1080p unfortunately. 2) The battery is still amazing considering that Apple used the most cheapest and basic display paired with a power efficient battery and chip. 3) Yes, it can play games. And expect it to get hot. Don’t play in high settings.
This is my phone still, I bought it early March 2019 and it still holds fine. It's the 128 gb version in red like yours. Battery health is at 81% after 5+ years which is not bad. I'm waiting to see if it's going to get the iOS 18 update. If it will i'm going to change its battery and keep it for one more year and upgrade next year with the iphone 17. If it won't take the update I'm going to upgrade to iphone 16. Overall a very solid phone!
You definitely don’t need iOS 18 to be able to make it to iPhone 17. The iPhone 6s was dropped on iOS 15 and still gets security updates along with compatibility with all new apps in the App Store. Even if it doesn’t get the update (which it will) I’d still use it for a year or two more.
I hate to break it to you but iOS 18 is not coming to this iPhone the iPhone 11 is going to get iOS 18 and after that the 11 is done so basically iOS 18 is not coming to the XR
I bought mine on launch day and I still use it to this day. Battery has never been replaced and is currently at 78%. However the performance is not good anymore (probably due to the battery). Product RED variant is one of the most beautiful phones I ever had/saw

Being able to just run Genshin Impact on such an old phone is crazy in itself. Android phones cannot do that from that era. Sure today's high end oneplus phones for example can still perform the same after 3-4 years but man... the iPhone is killing it. I use my iPhone 14 Pro as my main device and use my iPhone XR as a secondary device, i keep my second sim which is my word phone so I don't use it much just to load documents and scan documents. Nothing much, Ft calls and messages and docs handling is done through my XR and it handles them really well. Nice Video Aaron!

My first iPhone was a 6s I bought it in 2020 after that I bought the XR in early 2021 can’t lie this phone still hold ups good in 2024 as a back up I don’t use it as much since I upgraded to the 14 pro max but if your low on money and don’t care about the specs the XR is a great option it’s really good as a back up tho
I’ve just upgraded from the XS to a mint condition Product Red 13 Mini. Loved my XS - had chosen it over the other X models - but was under the (apparently mistaken) impression that it was about to lose access to the latest iOS. Really enjoying the 13 Mini, and would recommend. If anyone’s not sure if they’ll get on with the smaller size, it has the same footprint as my iPhone 7, and that was the norm, back in the day. I'm using my daughter's old iPhone XR at the moment and I think its a great phone. I like the display - its definitely softer on my eyes than the OLED displays. I'm running the most up to date IOS.
I went to change my xr battery at apple, phone was good, butspeakers didn't work (only headset), went to pick it up, apple told me they got some issue and the will be replacing the phone as the issue arose during the battery replacement, in that way I got a new iPhone XR in 2024 for 89 usd, the cost of replacing the battery 😅

I bought my XR on June 2019 and still use it today, colour I picked was the bright yellow. But the battery life has degraded from 78%-77%. Noticed this year that the performance isn't quite well I think its due to aging, Im amazed this Iphone is almost 6 years old and still run.
my iPhone XR can still last up to 6-7hrs on medium use, 4.5-5hrs on heavy use(if charged all the way to 100% and used down to 20%). overall, it's not bad at all for me.

Believe it or not - the speakers get clogged with fine dirt particles. You need a toothbrush and patience to clean it off. Look at it carefully and you will see what I’m saying. I clean my speakers twice a year. All the best!
I love my IPhone XR. Does calls,text, email and everything I need. Also paying only 31.45$ a month without a my tab is huge plus. That’s only $377.40 a year compared to $1,200- $1400. Idk I don’t spend money unless it makes me more than the cost.
Turning up your speakers to hike and caused him to blow out anyways, I did not have any issues with iOS 17.4.1 and I hope Apple fixes an issue related to scam and my iPhone is an iPhone 12
I got mine when (Product Red) when they came out, and it's been a great phone, I rarely use it as an actual phone, mainly for messaging and taking pics, and battery health is at 93%. I'll upgrade when it no longer gets updates.
XR is one of the best iPhones made. I never ended up having one I went from X to 11 however it was the first iPhone to ever offer decent all day battery life and it was a very good phone for the price. Of course compared to the latest 15 he pails a bit but it half the price of the 15 these days and certainly not half the phone.

@@liljaeger2k The screen is ok, not full HD. But it's acceptable. The shine is not very strong, if you use it in strong sunlight you will get angry. I play World of Tanks, and I play it on medium settings (it runs at best, but the battery runs out faster) The battery was much better, today it is on 17.4.1. If you use too much and depending on the settings, you will have to charge it sooner. I use it a little, so since I bought it, it lasts me a day without worrying. But overall, it was a very positive cell phone. So much so that I kept it for years and I'm going to exchange it for another iPhone

my xr is at 94% battery health and it lasts all day just on social media. i play gta san andreas it drains about 14% and hour with full brightness on clash of clans its really good i can play for an hour and it only drains 6% im on ios 17.4.1 btw
Many thanks Aaron for mentioning PWM! The Xr, along with the 11 and SE range are the only choices for the 10% of us that can’t use OLED due to PWM. Such bad news that it looks like the SE 4 will be OLED 😒
I got the blue iPhone XR for my birthday back in 2018 and I've really enjoyed using it since, but two years ago, my sister in law said she was going to give her iPhone 12 Pro Max away to someone else so that she could upgrade to a newer model. I ended up getting her phone and that's the model I currently use and I'm very satisfied with it. I was satisfied with XR too but I didn't wanna say no to a free model upgrade so I accepted my sister in law's offer and upgraded. I look back on many good years with iPhone XR though :)

I used an iphone xr for more than 3 years since 2021… it was fine at first… but as time progressed, i found that it’s not so suitable for work or heavy use such as zoom or video calls, recording videos, taking pictures in broad daylight, and scanning files since the phone would heat up pretty quickly and at times my phone hanged for quite a bit after trying to scan some documents and even hard reset itself… And that’s only work and casual related stuff… not to mention gaming. It wouldn’t hold despite me having a lot of extra storage and keep updating phones and charging moderately. Hence i upgraded to an iphone 13 pro max 256gb a few weeks ago with a banger deal. Not the latest and it is second hand but it’s a very amazing phone. A lil on the heavy side but i love everything else about it. Will keep it for many years to come :)

I really think the iPhone 12 is best value for money. 5G, flat screen, fully find my compatible, oled screen, more modern processor and around $250 used. Still has about 2-3 years left of OS support. You can't beat that line up.
I’m sorry but the LCD 300ppi eye retina blah blah blah, IS noticeable even at one quick first glance, not sure who can’t see it, but it’s like looking at an old CRT after getting HD
One very tremendous advantage that the iPhone XR had which later iPhones can't really have is the flexibility to swap the design housing to higher end iPhones which is a hot commodity in the Asia's iPhone-obsessed markets (i.e Vietnam), where many technicians brought XR internal and create the 15 Pro with the same color, the only gripe is the old XR's utterly THICC screen border.
I had an iPhone 11 up until I trade it in on an iPhone SE almost a month ago. I had no issues with my 11, except I needed a new battery, which is why I traded it in on an iPhone SE. I didn't like the XR/11 due to its overall size, I felt they were too large in contrast to an SE. The SE's 5G is a huge step up from LTE. iOS 17, if the XR doesn't get iOS 18, should get updates for the next 2 years, until 2026,
Xr user here. While I do think ios 18 will be its last update , I think its time for a upgrade. With apple AI in the making , iphone 16 will be my big jump I guess. I bought Xr in 2019 and it has been my daily driver ever since. What a ride it has been :) #XRGANG !
iPhone SE 2022 is the last iPhone last can AirPlay screen mirror to TV without any black lines. I getting one as they will never make more. Android change their screen size to screen mirror, iPhones cannot do that and they have black bars.
I will be upgrading from my XR to the iPhone 16 this year. It served me well. Had a little issues with iOS being annoying but it got fixed over the last 2 years. The main camera is obsolete. It really underperforms in low light. In daylight photos look decent enough.
XR was so popular and budget friendly. Thats why I saw a lot of people still using the XR today

I traded in a XR, when I made an upgrade. I regret that I didn’t keep it as a secondary phone. It was a beast.

I used an iphone xr for more than 3 years since 2021… it was fine at first… but as time progressed, i found that it’s not so suitable for work or heavy use such as zoom or video calls, recording videos, taking pictures in broad daylight, and scanning files since the phone would heat up pretty quickly and at times my phone hanged for quite a bit after trying to scan some documents and even hard reset itself… And that’s only work and casual related stuff… not to mention gaming. It wouldn’t hold despite me having a lot of extra storage and keep updating phones and charging moderately. Hence i upgraded to an iphone 13 pro max 256gb a few weeks ago with a banger deal. Not the latest and it is second hand but it’s a very amazing phone. A lil on the heavy side but i love everything else about it. Will keep it for many years to come :)

I got one 2 years ago then upgraded to an iphone 13 mini
Grandmother has one and still works fine. That thing does not seem like it’s dying out anytime soon

I really think the iPhone 12 is best value for money. 5G, flat screen, fully find my compatible, oled screen, more modern processor and around $250 used. Still has about 2-3 years left of OS support. You can't beat that line up.

I’m sorry but the LCD 300ppi eye retina blah blah blah, IS noticeable even at one quick first glance, not sure who can’t see it, but it’s like looking at an old CRT after getting HD
People that say it’s noticeable they are not putting it side-by-side. There’s blind test online that prove you can’t tell a difference.

I personally hate that flickering on newer phones. My iphone 11 is still my preferred phone for media consumption.

It would be better going for an 11 Pro in 2024. You get an extra year of software support and a much more premium design.

One very tremendous advantage that the iPhone XR had which later iPhones can't really have is the flexibility to swap the design housing to higher end iPhones which is a hot commodity in the Asia's iPhone-obsessed markets (i.e Vietnam), where many technicians brought XR internal and create the 15 Pro with the same color, the only gripe is the old XR's utterly THICC screen border.

I had an iPhone 11 up until I trade it in on an iPhone SE almost a month ago.
I had no issues with my 11, except I needed a new battery, which is why I traded it in on an iPhone SE.
I didn't like the XR/11 due to its overall size, I felt they were too large in contrast to an SE.
The SE's 5G is a huge step up from LTE.
iOS 17, if the XR doesn't get iOS 18, should get updates for the next 2 years, until 2026,
Xr user here. While I do think ios 18 will be its last update , I think its time for a upgrade. With apple AI in the making , iphone 16 will be my big jump I guess. I bought Xr in 2019 and it has been my daily driver ever since. What a ride it has been :) #XRGANG !
iPhone SE 2022 is the last iPhone last can AirPlay screen mirror to TV without any black lines. I getting one as they will never make more. Android change their screen size to screen mirror, iPhones cannot do that and they have black bars.

I will be upgrading from my XR to the iPhone 16 this year. It served me well. Had a little issues with iOS being annoying but it got fixed over the last 2 years.
The main camera is obsolete. It really underperforms in low light. In daylight photos look decent enough.
I have the XR, but I'm gonna upgrade to the 16 SE when that comes out because I'm sick of Lightning cords.
