  • The PNW Loam Dropper Post and Wolf Tooth Remote are going on my beloved Santa Cruz Hightower. This simple, mechanical post doesn't have the complications and issues of hydraulic posts and costs much less! I go over initial impressions and installation.

    Thanks for the review. Very informative. I’m going with the same post and lever to turn my SC Blur to “ down country “ rig.

      Thanks for watching! I have links in the description if you are looking for the post and lever. :) A dropper will totally change the way you ride your Blur!

    Thanks for the video- so the cable end with the metal ball thing plugs into the bottom of the post, right? I’m getting a loam so just checking to see if I need to buy a remote. Thx!

    Thanks. Only place I could find what end of the cable the tiny barrel requires. Oddly PNW does not provide this info and it’s not compatible with a good amount of triggers…

    • @GifZafred
      @GifZafred  2 года назад

      should be compatible with any trigger that uses the end without the little barrel/stopper.

    Hey, how is the PNW Loam working after riding? I'm between the Loam and the 1-Up V2. I've read that the 1-UP is a bit smoother but has a bit more lateral play. Either will be better than the Reverb!

    • @GifZafred
      @GifZafred  2 года назад +1

      The PNW has been awesome so far. No issues. It goes up and down and stays where you put it, which is what a dropper is supposed to do. I'm not sure what people mean by smoother as it isn't suspension. Just a dropper. Either one would be great tho! Thanks for watching!

    This is a fantastic video that answered a lot of my questions/concerns. Is it bad to grab the saddle if it's compressed and lift up...as if I had to lift it over a fence and forgot to extend it back up? It was against the rules for the Reverb, but I didn't know if a cable actuated post would be different.

      I’ve done that plenty of times and nothing has gone wrong. You should be fine grabbing it like that

    As my lever uses gear cable will i need to get new lever to fit the barrel bit?

    • @GifZafred
      @GifZafred  10 месяцев назад

      The barrel bit on the post end fits to the little piece on the end of gear cable. Then the free end of the cable connects to the lever.

    How has it been long term? It's been a year now. Any issues? I currently have a BikeYoke Divine, it works well, but probably should get it serviced, but I also want more travel, my frame can handle 213mm. I see there is BIkeYoke Revive 2.0 at 213 mm or PNW Loam at 200mm.

      the PNW has still been flawless. I haven't had to take it apart to service it or even top off air pressure. Still just as snappy as day one. I have the 200mm for reference. Every couple rides I put a very light coating of spray lube on the post to keep it clean and fast.

    Is that black barrel really necessary?

    • @GifZafred
      @GifZafred  2 года назад

      Yea it makes the connection perfect between the post and the cable. It comes with the post so it's not like it's an extra thing.

    You did several things well and gave many pro tips and pieces of info. I subscribed. How tall are you Gif? I'm under 6 feet so think the 170 mm would be good for me. I'd probably adjust my setting down to around 150 mm. You didn't show that adjustment by the way.

      Thanks so much! I got the 200mm for my XL frame Santa Cruz Hightower. I'm about 6'1"
